another great pic Ron. Like having Audubon visit with us each day...

a cardinal in snow, something I'm pretty sure we have all seen. He looks like a happy fella
surrounded by his food. Of course most birds are also looking up at times.
Where is Mr Hawk? Where is Mr Owl?
raptors overhead not conducive to relaxed dining

Eric, seems we are all cold at the moment, well except for Alien.

I have a very cool short video my sister just sent me of two birds on her porch with the Pacific coast and surf in the background.
It's a .mov file and apparently I can't upload it here. Short of uploading it to Youtube and providing a link, is there any way to
do this simpler?

I called in two prescriptions this morning, lady even called back and confirmed the price under my new plan, however when I called to check if they were ready, no record of my call. One had to get doctor to ok as the refills were out. I called the doctor and they emailed him, still nothing. Finally they got the one refilled and gave me enough of the other to get through the weekend.

The city changed our health insurance provider for this year, and so far it's a nightmare. My wife has been getting some pretty expensive COPD medications from a mail order pharmacy and it's cost us nothing. But that pharmacy doesn't take this new insurance that the city says is going to be so great. I got a new insurance ID card for myself, but my wife, covered under the same plan did not. I contacted the insurance company two days before the end of the year and the lady said she send a new card, but we haven't gotten it. I've talked on the phone, after holding 15 to 30 minutes each time, to 3 different people, all of whom claim the card has been send.

Of course we have a different mail carrier almost every day now, and yesterday we didn't get any mail . . . . until a neighbor brought our mail to us because it was put in his box.

I will agree until I get the first vaccination. But then the questions about it's effectiveness without the second shot or delayed second shot will come up. Where is the science? - too new to know. With a delay we will be going against manufactures directions at that point.

I'm with you. Doesn't seem to make any sense.

About how many miles before changing bike tires?

Scroll compressor at work has been working great, with the temp bypass we did on the thermostat.

GT80, the kid has been sad that he can't ride on weekdays, because I get home after dark. We quizzed him about his first day back at school after the holidays. It went something like this. Wifey asked him "Did you tell anybody you got to ride a horse bareback?"....."Noooo" he said. I asked, "Did you tell anyone you got a minibike for Christmas?" He answered fast and firm, "YES, because it is COOL!"....Made my day. :)

That's special.

I see a hawk somewhere on my place everyday. Everyone at feeders heads into the woods immediately. Where they hide for up to an hour I have no idea. Never seen an Owl at my place. At times I can hear them. But never seen one. At the park about 2 miles to west of me. People post pictures of them everyday. There is a nature center in the park. Put bird seed in you hand and many breeds of bird will land on your hand to eat the seed.

32 going to 47 and windy.

BEF, enjoy your trip to H'burg...let me know when you're well enough for a hike.

Coco was growling at the back door soon after we came in from a walk this morning...I went out with the flashlight expecting to see a skunk, but was a woodcock a few feet from the back steps, making its loud peent call. I never heard it inside, but dogs are good at pointing out at unusual sounds.

Seems the manufacturers have figured out how-to mass produce. Now it looks like the issue is getting it in arms. It looks to be a rather complicated balancing act of distribution vs injections at this time.

I thought I saw something that said even the first dose gets a person to 60-70 percent effective? Need to track that down.

Good Morning
It’s 24, climbing to upper 30’s with clear sunny skies.

Yesterday found me at the airport, the project there is nearing completion. No gunsmithing, son was busy with a Solid Works project all day, probably wrap the gunsmith project up today.

My shop heat is provided by a conventional air to air heat pump with propane backup. I’m surprised that even with the outside temp in the low 20’s, the heat pump keeps up on its own. I keep it heated 24/7, so it doesn’t have to recover from a low temp, but I’m still impressed.

34 outside, heading to upper 40's. At least the sun is out. It looks nice.

Mostly, I borrowed my neighbors tractor for splitting these past few years. Then a friend dropped off his log splitter a few years ago too. Unfortunate, the stand-alone eats carbs, I kept telling him to replace the fuel tank. He said it's mine and I have not gotten around to it. The axe seems to work best. Simple...effective...when I need it, ready to go. LOL. I'll get a pile pic this AM to brag to you all. It's my 10k pile of fire wood. <- really. The trees were large and too close to the house for us. Plus they were old and one died within a few weeks during the spring.

The truck eats transmissions once a year. Both the dealer and I....need to figure out a way out of this.

I hope all have a great weekend.

Stay safe, and stay healthy my friends. My daughter's hospital is overwhelmed. Prayers for our country are in order.

24° at home.

Got a late start leaving last night, got home from work, car wasn’t packed, even though I called on way home and said get it ready. Then youngest son wasn’t ready. So I packed the car and went out to warm it up. Didn’t notice till ready to leave a headlight was out. So went in garage, and sure enough I did buy some more. Subaru takes same bulb and I had used the spare on it last year and bought a 2 pack. Bulbs hard to get to, not much hand space, but got it.
Driving down road kind of nonchalantly, had a car come up on my tail, I said to myself, I’m sticking to the limit. Just about then red and blue lights appeared on a 2nd car back, and pulled over the one behind me.
Almost got hit twice though, by what I call slashers. I’m in right lane, person starting to overtake me in left lane, when someone at a high speed passes the overtaker in right lane and jumps in front of them as they are about to pass me, almost hitting both of us.
Another one tried that maneuver and had to back off suddenly, I hit the shoulder to avoid being hit from behind.

I’ve been getting a very painful burning in my right knee. Not sure what’s going on.

Well, wife’s sister has moved in at her moms, but hasn’t told us yet that they sold their house and are living here. And they got and brought a dog. Will see how things go today, hopefully no big drama like the last 2 times, but not holding my breath.

I tried parlor once and didn’t like it. Lots of work for lawyers, as there will be massive lawsuits coming over the censorship. Sad days ahead for our country as we continue to lose our freedoms.

1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 2 Tbsp tahini. 425˚ 13 minutes.

Looks delicious, Don.

How much water do you use in the dough?:confused3:

I used my own spaghetti sauce on my last pizza, it was pretty tasty. I found pizza sauce on the shelf my last grocery run, so I'll give that a try on the next one.

Good Morning. It's 33° with light wind. Our high today will be mid-50's. Tomorrow will be a different story .. our high is forecast to only get to 41°, with cold rain. We're just south of the expected snow line .. so we'll see.

Yesterday I was cutting yaupon from around the base of several big live oaks .. near the shop. About 2:45 p.m. I went back to the shop to swap batteries for our Lynxx 40 volt pole saw. Walked into the shop .. everything dark .. no radio, etc. Power out? I walked back outside and could hear the radio playing in the small shop? Our power comes underground, from a power pole on our road to a 37.5 kVA transformer beside the small shop feeding the meter panel and three other power panels. I checked the panel with breakers feeding big shop, small shop, and horse barn and the 150 amp breaker that feeds the sub panel in the big shop was tripped and it would not reset. When one of these breakers is tripped you have to push it completely to off position then reset to on. This one wouldn't go to off position. No problem .. I'll just go get a new one. I made a few calls and biggest available local was 100 amp 2 pole. So .. I called a local plumbing, HVAC, electric service contractor to see if they had one. They did but they couldn't just sell me the breaker .. they had to install it. The big shop also has quarters and a refrigerator/ freezer full of food so waiting until I could go to Houston and find a 150 breaker wasn't in the cards, for a Friday afternoon, so I agreed to have them install a new breaker. I now have shop power and can hardly wait to see how much this $60 circuit breaker ends up costing me.

More yaupon chopping today .. as soon as the sun comes up.

Hope everyone has a nice start to your weekend.

Prayers to all.

good morning all. Rick, are you sure that's the link you want here?

25 going up to 40 today

taking those muffins to several homes this morning, just hand outside and leave, we are all on the same page
when it comes to separation.

can you stay 6 ft apart and get warm from fire?
3 foot round metal firepit and we sat on opposite sides, I'm guessing 10 feet away.
It was fun for a little while.

Toppop, well said.

hope you all have a nice weekend.
And as Buppies says regularly, prayers for our Country.

"Rick, are you sure that's the link you want here?"

Why not? TBN and TNT have .. common ownership.

I have also read anywhere from 50% to 70% effective with only the first injection.

1/4 to 1/2 cup - enough to make a firm , not too wet dough.

Good morning! 26˚F heavy frost. Getting excited because tomorrow is a SNOW DAY!!! We will have to get our grocery shopping done today to make snow food. I can't be on the road tomorrow if there is ice because the people around here do not have a clue how to drive on it.

If some states .. are having "issues" getting vaccine distributed and into arms .. it would seem that "flooding the states" with all available vaccine .. is counter intuitive and could result in millions unable to get their second dose. The present federal plan .. to reserve some vaccine for a second dose seems .. reasonable.

We've got to get the "politics" out of distribution / administration / vaccination .. or it's likely doomed for a colossal fail.

I need to try making pizza dough sometime. I’m generally disappointed in most chain store pizza.
