No reason for a penalty, other than another money grab.

All this SSA talk made me go online and look. I get $2222 a month at 62. Don’t understand the WEP stuff. I had no SS paid on my first 5 or 6 years of work, then paid SS ever since.

It’s all confusing.

I had a talk with SS today, I think I understand WEP. Everyone is different and the final numbers can only be figured by them. The only online calculator ask you to list bla bla bla . . . .

I did pretty good, I only had to wait on hold about 15 minutes. There is no way I could do the online calculations that quick and know the exceptions and limits they told me.

40 right now, looks like forties all week. Got all the inside decorations boxed up Sunday, outdoor stuff will come down tomorrow.
Had a telemedicine visit today with my nephrologist, kidney function is responding to the changes, up a good bit over the first ten days that ended two weeks ago. Next testing in about three months. That’s a relief.
I wish information were more readily available on the vaccine, it’s going very poorly in Maryland.
I’m going to bed soon, I stayed up too long last night watching my Washington Football Team.
Have a good night all.

Good evening all. 32F for the start, mostly clear, light wind. Light wind day, mostly clear sky, high temp of 65F. Working getting new lake sticker for boat, got insert ready for next fire, went for bike ride, and nap. Need to get started on bike maintenance.
Covid update: Cooke, Montague, Grayson, local unchanged.
Roy, bummer you have to go to work after the seat time, no time to enjoy the after glow
Ron hope Dr visit goes well, glad you got a nap. nice pic of flagpole and pond
Bill sounds like a conserve energy day
Mike 40's warm enough to do primer?
Drew enjoy your baking
Thomas enjoy feeding wood stove
Phil, it is fun to be out when no one else is. 1 year for LED light sounds very short.
Lou I always thought 4 inch snow nice to deal with.
RNG glad pallet project coming along.
Ken good luck with rollout.
Paul glad you had good shop day. weren't you the one needing to mine for the horizontal surfaces?
James glad your wife got the vaccine, and no serious side effects
Eric why do I think the answer is no to sheep in the front lawn :) sounds like some of that training will run counter to other training :)
PJ good luck catching up!
Drew states have a say in how vaccine distributed. Not sure why PA is mum about plan.
Don check with the Cooke site and they are saying same thing still on 1A and not sure when 1b will start.
Rich hope stove clean up goes well, don't push too hard to get back to work.
RS vehicle registration never fun thought, good luck
Dennis if you have other income such as government pension it can reduce your ss benefit. Wife has that issue.
prayers for all especially Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter/family of uncle, David(moss)/remodel/divorce, RNG/fire, Ron/hearing/son/furnace, Jim/sister & family, Phil/wife's eyes, Randy/health, and Country.
stay safe and health you all.

Part of the reason for the big SSA jump from 62 to 67 is they assume you will be making and contributing the same up until then. If you retire early but don’t take SS, and earn way less until then, it won’t be that much. Also look at the 5 years of SS pay you didn’t take.
I will get 2 small pensions from 2 previous employers, for the first no SS taken for first 5 years, but SS taken for the next 15. Not sure how that will work with WEP. 2nd very small pension I paid SS, then company ended funding the pension and switched to 401k.
Neither pension is enough to retire before 62 without using 401k money. The 2nd pension might be enough to make a car payment.

Now my head hurts.

31 right now...high is predicted to be 32, so not much of a warm up...
Even after clearing the snow yesterday, I still got to work on time...bit of a surprise. Went OK...
The new Plant Manager had worked at the plant several years ago as Engineering Manager. He had a reputation of being a bit arrogant. Seems (so far) that he's more down to earth...hope it stays that way...
Up way too early, but I know I'm not going to get back to sleep...may as well peruse TBN and other sites

Poured first cup of coffee. 28° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with cloudy skies. Put all the tools away from Sundays toilet project yesterday, Did final cleanup. Dr visit was a blood draw for next weeks visit. No plans for today.

RNG, Here is link to "Medicare and You" that they put out.

Don, hope SSA worked out in your favor.

Randy, My Aunt I had a discussion yesterday about when we can get vaccine. No reliable information available in Michigan yet.

Buckeye, what to do with finances was the hardest part of first few months of retirement. Took about 3 months to get it all settled down. Has been pretty smooth since then.

Roy good to hear trip to work and new Boss went OK yesterday.

Ken, Michigan had no income tax for seniors. Then a few years ago they changed it to taxing anyone born after 195?. They did Grandfather retirees born before that date. Only 12 states do not tax retirement income.

Drew, i find it very concerning that CVS is going to be giving out vaccines. My mother used them. I caught them shorting her on meds. My complaints went nowhere except getting the proper amount of meds. Anyone or company that does that to anyone should be fired or seriously fined.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning all.

good morning all, 36 going up to 41 today in clouds.

off to Kubota dealer locally to look at Ariens EFI snow blower this morning. Then likely to another dealer to look at Honda alternatives.
Most of these self propelled units operate by holding levers on both sides down the whole time, not a good design for me, can't keep squeezing my
hands that long. I think Honda has a different clutch arrangement. Going to do more research, what I really want is a self propelled corded electric snow blower.
Not sure anyone even makes it... plus I want a metal auger and not plastic.

Ken, thanks for vaccine info. It looks like Doylestown Hospital is my closest option, so far it only shows CVS doing distribution for medical staff, not the general public, but that
is surely subject to change. Will simply wait and be impatient. I'd rather go to the hospital; they have strict cleanliness procedures I don't trust the employees of CVS to follow.

On way home going to stop at supermarket and doing shopping I didn't do yesterday, and pick up baking needs. Have lots of blueberries I need to use up in muffins.
