Good morning!!!!

There but for the grace of God go all of us, Rich. What's especially scary is you have no idea how you caught it. "Community spread" it's called, and case numbers have nearly doubled the previous peak in late August here. It's no wonder, as large numbers of folks are not wearing masks, or wearing them improperly, and are not observing social distance requirements, either. ICU space is mostly used up in the hospitals, and they're having to park people in overflow areas. It's wonderful you got the care you did, especially since it's sounding like many now do not.

Did you get any of the new wonder drugs that have been given to so many of the rich and famous?

63°F and no rain. A bit on the cool side for us this morning.

Expect to get a bit of project time this morning before switching to Christmas prep mode.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

64, may get near 70 before falling to around 20 overnight. Shorts today, insulated underwear tomorrow.
Forecast is for 2” of rain and winds to 50 mph at times.
Glad I have the flagpole in the garage working on it. 25’ pole is a tight fit in a 24’ garage.

Rich, that is indeed a harrowing experience, God bless you. I guess he already has.

Ellen is doing more baking today, so I’ll be doing more eating.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Edit; I should have said 30 tomorrow morning. 20 the following day.

We just developed another problem.... pellet stove worked all night, now won't ignite.... of course the tech service line / customer service won't answer......
NUTS!

What brand? I’ve replaced igniter in my Harman, was easy. Can use gel to manually light it. Make sure it’s not a fan not working that is preventing it from lighting though.

Last weekend I wrote about they tractor not starting on Saturday...just click...click. Sunday, one click, then the engine kicked over. My assumption was a bit of ice in the starter motor. Anyway, when it did start, a service light also illuminated. Called the dealer on Monday since I've only put 5-6 hours on it since it was delivered, after being serviced at the local dealer. Due to the holidays, they can't get anyone to the house to check it out. Although I'm not much of a mechanic (used to be OK, but my skills have not been kept up to date), I asked the service manager if he thought there was a way to reset the service light (owner's manual doesn't go in to this. Nothing in the service manual other then resetting using a Deere service laptop. However, from previous experiences, I have found that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes might do the trick. Deere service manager agreed but said if the service light does come back on to get the code that appears on the instrument cluster.
So, that's another project to do today since it will be relatively warm compared to the cold front coming in this weekend. I hope it works...
The service manager suggested that even if the light does re-illuminate, continue using the tractor. If there's a real problem, a red STOP light comes on. If that light comes on, park the tractor...
A bit of a bummer, but I won't get excited if this is a one time occurrence. Hopefully, this tractor isn't a lemon (what we referred to as a "Hanger Queen" in Naval Air). But it did have 321 hours on it since new (2015-2016) and I would think if this machine was a lemon, it'd show up long before 321 hours...
Wish me luck, Team!!
Good news!!
I didn't even have to disconnect the battery!
I started the tractor to move it a bit for access to the battery box (on the Deere 40xxR series tractors, the battery is located under the right side cab door). As usual on this cold weather, the fuel gage shows empty initially, and a warning on the instrument panel (not the service light). Fuel gage showed fuel (about 3/4th's full) a few seconds later, and no service light
So, used the front blade to scrape a bit more snow off the drive, parked the tractor and plugged it in(you may recall, I always plug the tractor in...just don't plug the extension cord in to the wall socket)

For you guys with the Deere 40xxR tractors, you may experience the same thing sometime...

Rich, thanks for the detailed write up. So sorry you had to go thru all that. Which hospital by the way? My BIL and sister were both in Cambridge with their COVID.
Wish all my FB friends who still joke about COVID and complain about masks could read what you went thru.
Prayers for your continued recovery.

Good morning! 46 now, supposed to drop later and snow.

First post in a long while.....I will get to that

But first....MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

My Christmas was Monday after being in the hospital for 3 weeks due to severe complications from Covid. My advice is....don稚 get it. And I have no clue how/where I caught it. None.

I have many things to be thankful for this Christmas season

So glad to read you recovered. Merry Christmas

On hospitals. When you are sleeping peacefully at 3 A.M. they will come into your room, wake you up to give you a sleeping pill.
