Good morning!!!!

good morning all
29 out now going up to 54 in mostly sun today
Then a big system moves up the coast and drops several inches more rain here Friday and Saturday.
Could be a lot of snow North of us if temps are cold enough.

off to primary doc this morning for something minor, I hope, and will ask to be first on their list for patients desiring the covid vaccine.
Not sure how they/drug stores will handle this, guess we will all find out soon enough.

Drew, I am wondering what you are using for a heater in the garage.... 30lb propane should last a while. I use one of the tank top "Mr Heater" burner type on a 20 pounder. I get about 20 hours of burn time on high....
And also curious as to why there were 2 electric meters in the pic of your generator plug.....

this unit, run on low setting/30k:
Amazon.com: Mr. Heater MH6QFAV 6, BTU Portable Propane Forced Air Heater: Home & Kitchen
Two meters are because of electric hot water heater. PECO had a program years ago where you got a reduced rate if they could turn
off your electric hot water heater during peak demand periods. I think they dropped the program, I only get one bill now and unlikely any discount.
But dual meters makes the wiring more complicated for gen install so agreed to ignore it. If power out for several days, I'll go take a shower at my brother's home 15 minutes away.
He has a Generac whole house gen like I used to.

I'm not putting gasoline into the gen until I absolutely have to. Will try to use propane during winter but likely it will not vaporize adequately off a small tank but when the time comes will dump
gas in. I have two five gallon cans filled with premium gas and marine stabil. At end of winter I'll dump them in the car and refill them.

Have five more bird houses or feeders to build but need to buy more ten inch cedar boards. Almost 7 dollars a linear foot...lumber pricing is just ridiculous.

Good morning all

26 now high in the mid 40’s and sunny today.

Yesterday turned into a do nothing day other than getting gas for the wife’s car
1.89 gal.
Will put the plow on the tractor today, on the BX it’s not a huge task. I usually spend more time cleaning the shed than putting the plow on.

Thank you all for the condolences and prayers, it means a great deal to me.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

I remember running studded snow tires when I lived in Maine. Don’t miss them. Or the icy roads.

When I was young I remember dad used studded snow tires in winter.

Nope I refuse...Roy needs the s... more than I since he has new setup. :)

Is it that easy? First Drew refusing his harbor freight mixup, so you can refuse snow?

I had to refuse an amazon delivery once because the item shipped was previously opened, parts were missing, and the 3rd party seller would not accept a return, and Amazon was no help because of 3rd party seller. I simply put it back on my porch and told UPS I was refusing delivery, they took it away and I got my refund.

Good morning, the temperature is 32°F and the high will be 34. Wind W 8 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

Off to North Bay this morning. 11 stops on the list for today. I will leave here at about 8:15 and will be back by 3 P.M. I hope.

re: snow tires, they don't howl. Big mud tires like you see on some lifted 4x4's DO howl. Big time.
Your best bet is to get another set of cheap rims (steel) and mount the snows on them. That way you save the pretty rims for summertime with summer tires on them. Steel will withstand the salt and slime that the powers that be have decided to put on the roads. Magnesium and aluminum rims can't handle the aforementioned salt and slime and corrode, usually starting at the bead.

Have a safe day all.

Good Morning, it’s 29 here and going to be a nice day.

Yesterday the weather was great for my trip, nothing on the radar down the whole east coast from PA to FL. Winds were mostly out of the west, around 100kts, so slight headwind down, and tailwind coming home.
IMG_5291.jpg
It was cold though. SAT is static air temp, TAT is the static temp compensated for the frictional heating caused by the speed of the plane.

About all I got done when I got home was to replace the WIFI monitor on the propane tank. The (not so) old one stopped transmitting readings unless I went to the tank and manually prompted it. The good news was that Tank Utility sent me a new one without argument.

Being new here, I’m still sorting out the names, locations and projects, but it seems like a great community, thanks for not running me out of town.

I've run dedicated studded snow tires for many years.
The road getting to my driveway has a couple of spots that always give trouble and then my driveway requires them.
I didn't put them on one vehicle one year, Chrysler mini van heading down hill on wet snow abs braking kept backing off the brakes,
parking park finally was trying to do some good but she wouldn't make the turn and kissed a tree, end of the mini van and the last vehicle that didn't get studded snows.
I usually get 3 years or better from a set, just put new ones on the RAM 1500 to the tune of $1186, ouch.
They are noisy but the difference in traction is amazing, the best I have found are Nokian Hakkapeliitta's now the 9 SUV series, had the LT's.

28 this morning, 35 now and breezy, 39 overnight they say.

Great pics of birds, moon over palms , deer in the snow and all the rest, you guys sure get some nice snaps.

I did absolutely nothing today except cook supper.

FaceTimed with mom today but she wasn稚 very alert. I知 afraid her time is short. But she痴 four months shy of 98, and she has led a remarkable life.
She痴 done more after 50 than most people do their entire lives. She痴 plowed mules, built barns, tuned up cars, put on convertible tops, could measure, cut and sew literally anything from a pair of shorts to Victorian window treatments. She became the go to interior designer in this area for over thirty years with no formal training. She designed all the things in Spiro Agnew痴 condo as well as countless houses, condos and offices for Frank and Mitzi Perdue as well as many others. Then helped build it all.
My mom is an amazing lady and I only wish I had half her talents.

Remarkable lady...I see where "you got it." How'd she come to move to Maryland?

Was just thinking of a vacation up to the white mts when the kids were young.

I’m buying the BX23 my FIL had, right now keeping it at MILs house to do projects with. It has a snow blade for the front. I should put it on for winter, but she won’t even try to drive the tractor.

28 going to 53 and sunny. Heavy frost, looks like snow, but not like the big one Thomas is getting :).

Pop, that's mighty cold air...how warm can you keep the plane inside and what altitude were you?

Alien, had to look up the tawny frogmouth...we don't have them here. Interesting looking bird. We have chuck will's widow and whippoorwill birds that are a bit similar.

Something shook our house pretty hard yesterday...my wife and I were in different ends of the house and both felt it...but nothing on the earthquake map.

I remember running studded snow tires when I lived in Maine. Don’t miss them. Or the icy roads.

When I was a teenager I worked at the local service station which also sold tires. I was the lucky one who would have to stud the tires with a pneumatic insert gun. There are a lot of studs in a set of snows. Man did i hate that task LOL. Thanks for the memories

The more the merrier. It just takes Mostly longer to give his nightly recap.

My FIL took flying lessons years ago, and even bought a small plane or some sort of ultralight which he never flew but kept in his barn. Fortunately he got rid of that before he passed away.

Had another friend years ago, originally from Australia who used to fly float planes in Fiji. He had moved to my area and was teaching flying gliders. He took me up once and let me fly a glider.

Coffee is done brewing. 30° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 42° with partly cloudy skies. Got tool table assembled and moved to shop. Hard part was moving Dewalt planer from cabinet to table. Manual says it weighs 80 lbs. Felt like 180 lbs. No plans for today yet.
This little guy like to pose for pictures.

Randy, special prayers for your mother.

Gadget, thought you were flying in a car. Then looked at picture at 30k feet. Airplane.

Drew, outrageous price for any lumber now.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

No problem making it as warm as you want. Heat comes from the bleed air used for pressurizing the cabin. It’s about 400 degrees leaving the engines. That was at 30,000 feet.

Good morning! 34˚F heading to 54˚F. No freeze predicted for the next 10 days.

The broom pic was a nail picker-up-er that I made by combining the broom handle to my magnetic metal parts tray by drilling a hole in the tray handle and screwing the broom handle in the hole. I used it at the park to locate my missing chainsaw bar nut, found it in about 15 seconds.

Heading to Kyle's county to deliver groceries, the only county around here the still has no grocery delivery or phone in and pick-up. I'll stop by the garden and pick Mom some fresh kale also.

sounds like a hurricane to me
better you than me up there, as I told you...;) Glad your trip went well and hope you got your pie

Remarkable lady...I see where "you got it." How'd she come to move to Maryland?

By way of Alabama, NC, VA, NC again, California, Alabama, VA then Maryland for the last 45 years. If my dad hadn’t died young she probably would still be in NC, and we would have missed a lot of adventures.
