Yep, it is cold out here!.... the highest temp was that 19 this morning, dropped to 17 and stayed there all day... it is now 15, on the way down to 8 tonight. Snow finally arrived and is predicted to last until Wednesday morning. Maybe up to 18" of snow.

There is snow going further south to areas that rarely see just a few flakes, they might get 4-5".

Here's a pic from our front door... too cold to step outside

So, this 'day of relaxation' has been nice.... different, but nice! I reached the end of the internet and was told to go back.... then I burned out YouTube.... I don't know what I'll do tomorrow.....

I'll take the snow, but you keep the 8F. Stay warm!

My wife said she didn’t know it got cold in NM, I told her she’d obviously never spent the night in a stucco motor cabin with no heat, outside of Tucumcari in Late November. Thank goodness there were a lot of blankets.

When I went thru Tucumcari in June a couple years ago it was 100°

Foggy and 64 heading for 73 later, cooler weather and rain later this week. About half the leaves are down and they’re falling fast now. One more mowing at a lower level for the winter to avoid snow mold fungus.

My arm is much better, have follow up with the doctor Wednesday.

My fingers would lock after using an air jitterbug repeatedly. It also led to carpal tunnel surgery in 1986.

Ron, glad your arm is better. I’ve had mild soreness from vaccines, but very rarely.

I’ve noticed that shortages are starting in the grocery store again.

I sure hope the COVID-19 vaccine is soon to arrive.

Prayers for all.

Glad your arm is better.

David, you would not recognize I95 North from Route 1 to DC. Just North of 1, all the trees in the median are gone. And there is a reversible toll lane, run by an Australian company.

I would say, it doubled in size...easy. And it STILL has the same bottlenecks. Just a lot of people in the area.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. Be safe!

They should move the Pentagon to Texas, near Fort Hood where there is plenty of room and cheap housing. Get some congestion out of DC. No sense being in some extremely high priced area. I'm betting they have to pay all the staff a large cost of living bonus....

Good morning. It's a warm 73° with 92% humidity and our high will be about 82°. A "cooler" front is on its way, arriving here about 5 p.m. for comparison .. it's 19° in Amarillo this morning. And .. a tropical storm entering the Gulf of Mexico. The "cooler" front .. will keep it from coming our way.

I spent yesterday, on the New Holland, cutting one of our pastures. About two hours of cutting becomes 5 hours when your continuously dodging trees and low limbs.

Don .. I failed to mention yesterday, that the PR XP 1000 "Texas Edition" also includes a standard 4500 # winch with synthetic line. I used the 3500# winch, on our XP 700, quite a bit.

The 4500# winch is controlled from a dash mounted in / out switch and I can add an optional wireless remote control, for $135. That .. seems like a "no brainer".

Eric .. your "triple doink" was outdone by the Rice kicker .. with a "quadruple doink".

"On Friday I foolishly tripped over a brick in the dark in my haste to shore up some boards keeping rain off the fresh mortar. I stayed upright, however the plank of wood I was carrying took the opportunity to clonk me on foot, knee and forehead, all in one go "

Quadruple doink foils what would have been a game-winning field goal in OT for the Rice Owls - YouTube

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Might be a while until a game losing quintuple doink sets the new record.

You guys be sure to get your fingers limbered up before you drive through DC area, in case you have to signal someone they are #1. :)

Got a lot done on the GT80 mini bike. I know, I should have had it done by now. Clutch doesn't seem to be working correctly. I need to make sure the little clutch ball bearing is in place. I might have to take off the right side cover again. This is in no way any sort of a restoration other than put it together and let the kids thrash it. There is light at the end of the tunnel (I believe), in getting it going. It seems the piddly things take the longest getting it back together. I have a list of parts I need/want to get from Partzilla.

Don, this Steiner might end up being a "parts" machine if it has too much wrong with it. I can't find a service manual. Steiner website says "under construction" when you go to the support manual page. I guess I'll have to call them. I'm not even sure how to put the thing in neutral to hopefully roll it onto the trailer. Yes Ken, it's a dollar two ninety eight beauty queen. Maybe I'll grow to like it. I've just always heard good things about them.

LS, too cold for me. My friends are somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Utah right now, but they do have cell service.

A gal at work made some home made kolaches with jalapeno cheese turkey sausage. Really yummy. I only had 1 small one.

I warmed up some leftover sausage I bbq'd, and my wife and oldest daughter came out of the woodwork to get some. I had warmed up the last 3 pieces about 2" long, but they saved me from eating the other 2.

It only took 51F degree weather with 20mph stiff breeze, sitting on aluminum heat sink seats, to freeze us out the other night.

Thanks for all the feedback re my finger question. It would seem too many of us are afflicted, also some variety in results. And for those without, I seriously hope and pray you never do.

When I was younger (12-30 yr old) I used to crack my knuckles daily and I believe this is what has led up to my hand problem today.

Good evening all. 44f for the start, light rain, .1 inch in gauge windy. Windy day today, on and off rain, most still soaking in, and high temp was at midnight and was 49F. I’m staying here.

I remember as a kid being told that would happen.

38 right now...high in the mid-40's...

Calling for some snow on Friday...prediction's for 2" or so...nuisance snow. Think I'll put the blade on the Deere this afternoon

good morning all
another foggy drizzly morning; is this what the Pacific NW is like?
61 going up to 64 today in clouds.

all I could think of for Ted was how the scorpions and gila monsters were doing in this cold snowy weather. Like many, just never thought of NM being so cold.

first cup of coffee sure hitting the right spot, still making it about 1/3 caff and 2/3 decaf, which seems to have enough kick to get me going in the morning.

I really need to break down and buy a weather station, thinking of the big rain storm due in Wed night, more than two inches predicted, would like to track that.

bought a small HP printer/scanner yesterday in order to get copy/scan feature. Guy at Staples said there was a big shortage in HP black ink. ? what next?....
I ordered some on Amazon. Going to set up scanner as my afternoon project, hopefully I can get wifi feature to work, don't have much luck with that. I usually have to get a cord.

Have to take a load of clothes to dry cleaners this morning. Funny, the same girl/lady I dated in high school more than 50 years ago is still working there, her family's business.
She had what I called Trenton (NJ) "big hair" back then, was all the style. While there are several dry cleaners in my small town of New Hope PA, I don't mind driving over the bridge to Lambertville
to their shop. Also need to stop in liquor store there to get case of beer as thank you present for friend who drove me to VA on Saturday. Local supermarket can only sell two six packs at a time, no cases to be had. Very strange rules... The liquor store in Lambertville called Welsh's, same place it's been forever. I like these long standing small businesses, try to support them.

when I get home, going to try to plant some more bulbs. Back is still sketchy, but will take it slow. Not sure I can put off this lower back operation much longer.

my next older brother stopped over yesterday afternoon, nice to see him. He just got his negative covid test after coming back from visiting his daughter and her family in Charleston. He confirmed his accounting practice staff is now back to work in the office, after working from home for a long time. We talked cars for a while, he gets a new toy every several years, just sold his 5 year old 911S and wants something "big and loud", probably something old this time, like some American iron. He has owned lots of Corvettes, an Aston Martin, AMG's, always something with a big motor and after market exhaust. I asked him why he didn't order a new StingRay and he said because he wouldn't get it for over a year. He still should, and have fun with something else in the meanwhile. He was looking at an old Impala SS, a real boat with a 409 and a four speed, but it was sold when he called. I don't think he wants to go fast anymore, just wants to shift manually, make some noise and have fun. All good... He definitely spends time on Hemmings and Autotrader Classics. I'd sure rather do that than look at tax returns...;)

Good morning folks

46 now dew point 43 high of 53 and partly sunny today. Rained off and on since yesterday, still not a lot of accumulation but we’ll take anything.

Ran the tractor between rain drops to move the brush I cut along driveway.

Not much planned for today, may go fill diesel can and pickup filters at dealers.

Enjoy your day everyone

Good plan. My wife hit a buck last night.
My weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro, it’s been out in the field on a pole for at least 15 years.

   / Good morning!!!! #120,898
First cup of coffee is cooling. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with chance of rain in afternoon. Finished up cellar door project yesterday. Still need to paint it. But no rush on that. Collect all the tools today and put back where they belong. No other plans. No signs of that white stuff here yet. At least for the next 14 days.
Leaves are not dropping very fast. Yellows are getting darker every day. Thank Comcast for cable in middle of pictures.

Drew, suggest a new Mustang for to your brother. My son is in Sevierville TN this week. Did tail of the Dragon with his yesterday. Great ride. Lots of them on EBAY.

Popgadget, :welcome: to Good morning thread.

Luther, good reminder that I need to top off my diesel storage container.

LS, hope snow melts before next spring.

Mostly, cozy looking fire.

Looking, I cracked my knuckles when I was younger. Cannot do it any more. But no finger lock up.

PJ, doing projects others is the one thing that I regret/miss about retirement. Enjoy your neighbors helps. He needs the companionship.

RNG, good to hear your power system is able to support a welder.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

56 and dense fog, going to 66 and cloudy...did see the sun for a little while late yesterday.

Ron, about half or our leaves have fallen already...yours are beautiful.

Buppies, Coco is still improving...only one sore, but still a lot of missing hair spots...most will not grow back. She developed a limp and the vet said to go back to her prior level of prednisone. She is a fun and happy dog now.

Mostly, nice looking fire...I have that same globe...I think I've had it since 5th grade or junior high school. The s/w bug was a communication issue between the coffee bean inventory database (stored in the cloud) with the local roasting s/w on my laptop. The roast itself went fine, enjoying some right now.

Kyle, I had forgotten what kolaches are since last time you talked about them...so looked 'em up...how'd you eat just one small one? :licking:

I had a nice hike in the local park...didn't see a soul for 4.7 miles, but the trees were beautiful...the hickories are really strutting their stuff this year around here.

another foggy drizzly morning; is this what the Pacific NW is like?
61 going up to 64 today in clouds.

37° with cloudy skies this morning.

And down here in North Texas, it's 36 degrees going for another drizzling miserable day with 43 forecast for the high.
