Good morning!!!!

A nice calm and sunny start to the day here, with only a slight chance of rain by the afternoon.

I had promised my wife I would give the range cooker a real good cleanout today as I haven't done it for a while and there must be a lot of soot inside as even with a firebox full of glowing embers, the side oven didn't get hot enough yesterday to cook properly. She has just said it is ok, leave it for another day and get on instead with whatever I want to do outside while it is dry. A sign that she still loves me - or maybe just prefers salad for tea today ?

Voluntarily making an inventory of guns is an interesting concept. Anyone not having that in the UK would be facing a lengthy spell in jail. Every five years we have to apply to the police for a renewal of our firearms certificates, which lists every gun we own - the maker, the action (bolt, lever etc), the calibre and the serial number. It also lists the maximum quantity of ammunition we can posses, which is typically no more than 250 rounds of centrefire and 850 rimfire.

48 outside heading to 72. Looks like field work is on tap today in the new horse pastures. Wife says she found a few gopher holes and looks like I missed a few barbed wire fence posts hiding in an old cedar tree line.

Buppies, that's good news on the septic.

I spent a few hours yesterday working on the front porch ceiling. Overhead work just really is uncomfortable. I need more primer. Got 3/4 of the way done, and ran out of it. Sigh. Got the siding ordered. After 15 years, the same distributer we used when we remodeled carried and will deliver the same brand to us!

Dumpster should be gone today. Get to fix the front fence.

Mostly. No videos on face plants.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. It's over the hump day!

Septic tank pumped no problem there appears water treatment system backwash is culprit first plumber gave some bad info. Crawl space still full of water no sewage. Now we can shower go to bathroom etc. fix meals. The deer were getting tired of our visits to their territory

New plumber comes tomorrow to reroute drain line from water treatment system hopefully to outside drain tile as septic system does not like it

Thanks for your thoughts

Glad you found the problem and you didn't have get into leach field....whew.

good morning all. A chilly 44 out now going up to 70 in bright sun. Colder weather has definitely arrived, sure colder
than what I'm used to...
This morning I'm off to Board of Elections and hope I have more luck than yesterday with DMV.
And likely later lots more boxes from Amazon to unpack. Really miss not having a microwave to warm my coffee.

46 going to 74, and should be some nice sunshine.

Buppies...glad it's not as bad as it first sounded. We have a separate drain line for the washing machine that goes out in a different direction from the septic lines. I'm sure the deer didn't mind too much.

Riptides, that was a good idea to place the dumpster there and remove part of fence. Your place is really nice.

Woke up at 3am and was disappointed, but not surprised, to see another skunk standing exactly where the other one last stood a few days ago. Almost identical stripe pattern, but looked like a twin. I had found a few funnel holes yesterday, and a track through the dew, so figured a sibling was around. Just too tired to go outside this time.

We took my wife's Highlander over to the dealer for the annual state inspection and to get the tires balanced and rotated. Nice that they do the inspection free ($20) and when I realized I had forgotten to bring the discount coupon for the tire job, no problem. We walked around the back lot where many rows of new cars and trucks are parked...only one Tundra and 3 Tacomas...but lots of cars and SUVs. Glad to hear my wife say "I like my Highlander better than those new models." They also had only one Landcruiser...$88K  Fortunately I saw the car carrier pull up as we left...had some new trucks on it.

There was a new restaurant next to the Publix grocery store called Chicken Salad Chick. May go back and check it out.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 36° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 63° with cloudy skies. When I let Sassy out after daylight found frost on grass. Expect to find same today. Got Menard shopping done yesterday. Going to do some work on cellar door project today. My Aunt says thanks for Birthday wishes. Every Time we are together she ask what is going on with the tractor team.
Trees have not gotten to full color in front of my house.

Mostly, that's impressive for a 78 year old. My bike spent another summer in barn without moving. :ashamed:

Buppies, good to hear septic is OK.

Riptides, good you found siding. Both my son and I have had rotator cuff surgery. My arm is much better than it was before. Son's is back to bow hunting better than he was before. Recovery was about a year for both of us.

Buckeye, hope thing settle down at work.

Drew, I took all the information to DMV when I renewed my driver's license in August. All they asked for was old license. But their site said you needed all that stuff. :confused3: Good Luck at election office.

Luther, putting mower away for the year. No leaves to mulch?

RNG, GARY, TBN founder? I thought Muhammad was the founder. :confused3:

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

40°F and going up to 55. Wind W 7 mph. Mainly sunny.

Buppies; I ran the drain line for the water softener to my sump hole and that goes out in a southerly direction. My septic system runs west of the house. I just got it pumped out this past week.

Got the snow tires put on and it appears the brake rotors are badly corroded and a tie rod end is a little sloppy. Appointment for Nov. 2 to do all that.

Meat order is put in; hind 1/4 of beef and a half a pig + 20 lbs of side bacon, 5 lbs of belly pork and 2 hams.

I've got some yard cleanup to do today as well as throw in some firewood.

Have a safe day all

Don, my sister sent me this book which she says is her favorite cookbook. Good chance you already have it but if not,
might ask for it for Christmas:
In My Kitchen: A Collection of New and Favorite Vegetarian Recipes [A Cookbook]: Madison, Deborah: 978399578885: Amazon.com: Books

just finished my Ezekiel sprouted grain muffin. Wish it gave me more energy, am really dragging.

BIL is coming over this afternoon, had to tell him "no sweets". Sugar is off my diet, docs were very clear, sugar feeds cancer.
Pumpkin cake and cookies already brought to me, trying a bite then giving it away.
But admit I have to have one teaspoon of Splenda/sugar mix in my first cup of coffee. Just not a honey person in coffee. There is one sweetener, not Stevia, with a
hard to pronounce name starting with E, have to look it up, was in the Greger book, but most I've tried just don't seem "sweet".

Ron, marvelous Fall picture
they say this weekend is peak time for Poconos and along Skyline Drive

Drew, The recipes in the book have several things that are off my diet, sugar, (instead of dates), oil (not allowed), dairy (not allowed). I still prefer Cathy's fisher's book, (no oil, sugar or dairy) I don't have to make revision in her recipes. Straight Up Food: Delicious and Easy Plant-based Cooking without Salt, Oil or Sugar: Cathy Fisher, Michael Klaper, M.D., Cathy Fisher: 978?9976369?1: Amazon.com: Books

Good morning! 53˚F heading to the 90's but it should stay below 90 this morning while we free up some large oak trees from the undergrowth of chocking cedars on the overlook trail in the new park.

Nice color pic Ron.
