Good morning!!!!

Good evening all. 58F for the start, few clouds, calm wind. Moderate wind today, partly cloudy, and high temp was 81F. Cleaning lady prep, then to garage to finish chain lube on Peugeot. Bike ride then nap.
Covid update: Cooke 442 confirmed cases, 30 active cases, Montague 178 confirmed cases, 17 active cases, Grayson 1849 confirmed cases, 73 active cases.
RS did not want to use any cooler weather gear, so play in garage for 2 hours and it is warm enough to enjoy with summer biking clothes
Eric sorry about the breeze, when napping if I wake up and don't fall asleep again I get up then figure time. Easier to type .5 hour than 30 minutes :)
Drew hope you figure what you need/want. Enjoy the light day, things will get hectic nearer move :(
So what does the weedeater thing of sneaking through woods ;)
Workonit welcome to GM thread :welcome:
Ron glad you found and dealt with fruit fly source, love fresh cider, neighbor in STL tried grease post took squirrels hours to wear the grease off :) Nap duration rarely affects sleeping unless drink too much tea.
Dennis too long to type :), love the Beretta story
RNG good news on fire and air quality. Understand about the smog rules, and we pay people to write the laws :( have fun !
Ken with fog like that it will be a while for the outside to dry out
Ted glad parts are showing up. Naps, have 11 years of retirement to work on technique :)
PJ used to do work for Cat, they had no clue as to what they received or used. We would get Cat's build schedule and how many days prior our parts had to be there. Their requirements through MRP would change daily
Billy good luck with skunk, if he is still there you will likely smell him, how is Coco doing?
Drew sounds like you are enjoying prospect of the return to PA and friends, nice pics of your future place
Randy glad you get a slow day. One of my cross country flights was watching 747 do touch and goes at airport near route
PJ down sizing can be freeing if you make good guess on with stuff to keep, never was good at that.
Thomas sounds dangerous.
Don sorry about your niece, looked like a hill to contend with as well on the hay cutting,
Rich sorry about your turkey, and that you could not work out the pit crew.
RS sorry about Squeaks banishment, but they never learn. WB getting a work out with all the planting activity, hope you little oak makes it.
prayers for all, especially Drew/move, Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, Mike, David(moss)/move/sale, RNG/fire, and Country
stay safe and healthy you all.

good morning all. Up too early but then fell asleep too early...need to force myself to watch a movie at night and not get in bed before 9pm.

Mostly, nice flowers, pretty splash of red.

really warm out, 70 instead of low 50's in recent days and now 80 degree days in forecast. Looks like a few more showers will come through this morning and then
things will dry out.

am off to lunch at local country club to visit with elderly friend, basically saying goodbye. CC spaces tables very far apart and I sure will be wearing a mask and sanitizing once I'm back
in car. I've always thought their food was terrible, one reason I quit my membership there, but will see if I can find something healthy on the menu. My friend is a member and lives nearby, one of few places to go out and eat lunch.
Covid counts in Beaufort Count remain relatively low, 918 cases with 23 dead, including Washington's mayor... I have been following the counts and it is shocking how fast they went up, from 31 reported cases. So no time to slack off on safety.

warm and humid in rv, humidity at 75 percent, going to run the a/c a little

60 going to 74 and rain ending. Got a good downpour last night and some lightning.

Rich, sorry about Bo...15 years sounds very senior for a turkey.

Mostly, Coco is showing steady improvement, and back to being a happy dog.

Lots of tree and field colors...looking like autumn is peeking out. Still have a straggler or two hummingbirds.

Oldest son came by after goose hunting last night to pick up some things to take to my BIL in North Carolina, including my late FIL's old Browning A5 I've been safeguarding. They are having a work day on the farm.

Not sure what I'll get into today since things are very wet. Hope your day is fine.

I don't know about Texas but here in PA you have to follow the instructions exactly or they may throw out your vote.

Yep, very lengthy detailed instructions that must be followed exactly. So it's time consuming, but maybe no more so than standing in line to vote in person.

I have voted in every election I was eligible to do so since I got out of the Marines in 1974,
and I will continue to do so in person.

I believe that I, too, have voted in every election since I was old enough to vote; sometimes quick and easy, sometimes stand in long lines for a long time. But now that we're old enough to vote by mail, we've finally started doing so. Kennedy was the last President elected BEFORE I was old enough to vote.

Good morning, looks beautiful outside, yet quite chilly again when sat static chipping away, just come in for a cup of tea and a warm up. Only have a small amount left to clear before I can finish pointing up this west side of the bull pen :cool2:(then only the south and east to do :( ).
Yesterday, instead of only using hand tools (as required by my building permit ), I resorted to a die grinder and carbide cutter to slowly eat away a couple of the most awkward steel tubes without touching the surrounding brickwork - please don't tell anyone though, in case any internet trawling bureaucrats are searching for reasons to reintroduce hanging. :)

Rich, you certainly have a lot of patience to put up with a hostile turkey for 15 years ! I'm sure your wife appreciated your tolerance of Bo.

Thomas, what is the story with the moose "urine pits" ? My knowledge of them comes from watching Bullwinkle on tv -maybe that was in an episode I missed.

Drew, hope the move goes well today. How good does it feel to have a home again ?

Thanks for the kind offer Wng, plinking with a pistol would be fun, though in truth my real passion is rifle shooting and was long before hand guns were banned.

Notice the straight "Texas" line Eric. (He did not have a church to line up with.)

Don, some of us could use GPS assisted tractor steering more than others

A lifetime of working with semiconductors has often found me starting at the shape of Texas, thanks to Texas Instruments adopting that as their logo. The "Top Left" of the state boundary always looked very organised, with it's straight lines and 90 degree angles. Does that area appeal to those who are a little OCD ? :)

52 right now...high in the upper 70's today...
Chores: Dump run...haircut at 0930. Then, I'm heading to Bradford, Vermont to look at a 2011 Kioti DK 50 cab tractor. I like my Deere...but the aftermarket cab (Curtis Cab) isn't so hot....has heat, but no AC. The seller has two Kioti's and can't use the cab tractor in the woods. Price isn't too bad...just over $20K is the asking price, but I'll have to sell the Deere to do the deal.. If I do buy the Kioti, I'll have to get rear remotes added for the snow blower
Doesn't look like the lawn needs mowing this weekend, so that's probably not going to happen. I'll give it a more thorough looksee later or tomorrow.

Drew, that little house looks perfect for a single man...and looks to be pretty private. Good luck with it!!

Poured first cup of coffee. 52° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with mix of sun and clouds. Yesterday trip to the Cider Mill that is located at a old Grist Mill was very good. Fresh apple cider and homemade apple pie in the shade of trees along creek that feeds mill. Topped it off. There was only 10 people at the mill. Other cider places we drove by on the way to this one had hundreds of cars in their parking lots. Those places had lots of things for kids to do. Cut lawn is on list for today.
Michigan CV. Cases 133,377. Deaths 7027. Oakland county cases 20,442. Deaths 1,196. 3,786,328 test have been completed. Not sure much good this number is. Dr, neighbor will get his 4th test Monday as his care procedes. Each one of the test take 2-3 days to get results. Delaying his care.
Picture was taken with iPhone.

Bird, I voted in my first presidential election about the same time as you. Do not remember who I voted for. I have never considered myself a Democrat or Republican. Got Absentee ballot yesterday. Been doing it for over 20 years. Will get it done over the next week. State and local stuff is what I need to read up on.

Drew, little house looks good. I thought about selling my place. But I want to stay close to where I live now. It has become a high rent area. Taxes are high $$$ and so are homes. It will be easier and cheaper to find a landscape place to maintain outside then move. I keep hoping to find someone like your firefighter neighbor to hire to help me. Have not found one yet. Plus I am not at that point yet.

Mostly, nice flowers. What are they.

Rich, may Bo RIP.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Only happens during mating season..the rut..bulls will paw the ground than urine to leave there scent for females also warn other bulls, and sometime bulls will roll in urine pit than do for walk which spread scent.
Mature whitetail will urine as he walks to spread the scent during rut season, and if your lucky enough to get close you can smell him.

Eric, I wish...move isn't for another two weeks, October 9th.
Then it will feel frankly amazing to be "home" again...

Ron, great stream picture
Fresh apple cider and apple pie, sounds like heaven

Never heard of a turkey being a pet. Always thought they were raised to eat. That would be one tough Tom...glad the memories are good.

rain has stopped, time to go for a walk

Good news indeed on Coco.
Wow, Roy looking at orange, even if it is the other one.
Am at MIL, will try to play in a dirt pile today with a BX. Light sprinkles of rain last night on way down, but most of the rain stayed south of here.
Every fall I mean to clean up the cider mill to make some homemade cider..

My neighbor just bought a Kioti Cab tractor....maybe a month back. It's a bit less HP, as he didn't want the hassles of the emissions BS. Nice machine though...but the dealer support sucked. His work lights didn't work and the dealer didn't provide much help...but a more local Kioti dealer did help him.
The one I'm going to look at is, as I wrote, a 2011 model...about 1200 hours on it. If I could find a cab Deere (with about the same PTO HP as the Kioti (about 40 PTO HP)) for $25K, I'd prefer that since I have all those John Deere hats!
I'll have to do some homework to see about any issues with the DK50's

I looked at koiti and the white bobcat version before buying my L3940HSTC. Nice tractor, people on TBN like them. I didn’t like the way the backhoe came off. I love my cab.

Good morning! 59˚F heading to the mid 80s lots of sunshine, no wind, foggy. Yard day, it really grew after the Beta 2.5" rain. Tomorrow I'll start pulling out the summer garden (beans/tomatoes and okra) and turn off the irrigation and let the garden dry out for a tilling next week with my little Honda. There will be a lot of severed root ends to discard also from the large elm tree 20' away. My Fall transplants, beets/broccoli/kale are growing nicely in their little Dixie cups on the back porch.

Two park sessions and one FireWise session were called off last week so I did not miss any because of the birthday and funeral. But after the Limb and brush removal at Mom's I felt like I did not miss anything.

Our neighborhood fitness center is continuing to ease restrictions. Now no reservations are necessary, they will just limit the number of people and shut down every 90 minutes for cleaning/disinfecting.

Drew, will your long term goal be to continue renting or will you be looking to buy?

Just because Bo disliked me didn稚 mean it wasn稚 entertaining. We had 3 toms. We just had miserable luck with hens staying alive and staying around. We had one hen run off with a wild flock.

We have 2 younger turkeys. Tecumseh who is likely Bo痴 son and Whitey which I am not sure where he came from.

Whitey is our junk yard Turkey. He is always dirty and has no personality. For some time, he has sort of been in charge since he is the youngest.

Tecumseh likes people. He is friendly, will eat treats out of your fingers, and is pleasant to be around. When Bo was being aggressive because he didn稚 want me near my wife, the chase was on. Saw a lot of entertaining chases since Tecumseh had this attitude of 鍍he enemy of my enemy is my friend? Tecumseh would get between us and drive Bo off. And he would come back and expect a treat. He had it figured out.

Going to be interesting to see how the other 2 act now that Bo is gone
