42-71 today. Nice fall weather.

I bought a Hisense 55” smart TV on sale at Sam’s about 6-7 years ago, hasn’t missed a beat so far, I’d never heard of them before that. My 10 year old Phillips Ambilight was too heavy, too hot and past it’s prime.
I don’t normally buy what I considered off brands at the time, But $329. For a 55” tv six plus years ago, I had to try it. I’ve got two 32” Visios and love them, also have two 19” off brands I got at Radio Shack years ago, all of them work well still.

Not sure what today’s chores will be, other than the mundane everyday stuff.

Have good day and prayers for all.

Good morning! 66˚F raining. Beta is in Texas, heading straight to us but should make the turn now. The Tempest records heavy rain a little better and is reporting .28" in the last 25 minutes (so about an inch.)

Drew good to see you are taking control of your health. My wake up call was my heart attack, my brother who was 5 years younger than me, had his fatal heart attack 5 years later, at the same age I had mine. My cousin, 68 who died last month also did not change his diet after his bypass, another reminder/encouragement. The Doctors in Houston The Weatherhead PET Imaging Center were also a big encouragement that I was on the right track and actually monitored the stopping of the progression of my heart disease through the PET scan over 5 years.

I know you say you will not be completely plant based but please do not allow yourself to make constant excuses and give yourself permission, like traveling, special occasions eating with friends special benefit, holiday - you see how many time a week you can easily break plant based. In the country every weekend (before covid) there was a church or FD or benefit that would make me cringe, a good cause but a very unhealthy way to raise money for those like me who's diet directly affects my health. My wife who was vegetarian for the last 25 years but changed for the stricter diet has been a constant encouragement and good cook. (She still takes no prescription drugs.)

If it stops raining later I need to pick okra and beans and give a bunch to Mom this week. I got all the rust off her well an will paint it and trim some trees and fix a leak in the PVC coming from her well - there is never a shortage of things to do. I am starting to hire out the un-fun jobs I am getting behind.

One of my elderly neighbors just put their house up for sale. The number one reason for leaving the active retirement community is to be closer to their children. I wish I could get my Mom to move into their house. . . it's hard to squeeze in a good days work with a 3 hour commute.

Good morning all, 51 going up to 73 - sunny
Not much done yesterday but dog walking
Hummingbirds have all left

RS - your down day sounds like my busy day !
Ron - great picture-if your head rotated like that it would be in a movie (Exorcist?)

For diet, my wife has low cholesterol and I am the opposite, so I try and work in veggies for myself. Kid likes Poke, so we try and get that or make that. Wife makes all fruit smoothies every other day or so from fresh fruit. Those are really good.

Today - clean out pool house preparing to put in pool furniture, ladders etc. and see how much we can fit in there so not in garage.

Stay safe and be well

49°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 78° today.

I don't mind, Mostly_. She was never going to be able to drive all those posts by herself, and she knew that. It is much easier to get around the coop to the nesting boxes on both sides now, so it was worth it.

Of course, as I type that, my hands still feel like someone beat them with a hammer.

Good morning. It's 72° this morning and our high will only get to 73°. Winds are about 15 mph out of NE.

We got 3/4" of rain Sunday .. just over 8" here, so far, from overnight and it's still raining.

I'll probably just work on some shop projects today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers to all.

55F and sunny @ 10:40, high headed up to around 73F. Another beautiful day.

Need to remove box blade then move WB over so it can be filled.

After that remove FEL and put on MMM.

I have some hosta planting to finish up in the west and northwest planting beds.

Garage also due for some straightening up.

If we can get mowing done in reasonable timeframe, probably do some more transplanting later in the day.

Bad news on flicker nest box: looks like starlings ... :(

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

Now the hummers and most of the butterflies are gone, I need to trim one of the butterfly bushes, it’s way overgrown. Then I’m taking a saw and pruners to some low hanging limbs. I’m tired of fighting them when I mow. Did the holly grove last year so it’ll be good until next year except the suckers need cutting. Might just use the machete for that.
I’ve watered everything so I’m going to have a tomato sandwich take a break until afternoon.
Another club meeting tonight, outdoors thankfully, not sure what we will do next month.

70° F and no measurable rain last 24 hours.

Oregon friends are back in their house after 2 weeks but just 1 level removed from possible evacuation. They count themselves as very fortunate as they know others that were wiped out.

Another take it slow day out at my caretaker project.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, would love to see some sort of study comparing todays diet to the way we were brought up 60-70 years ago.
