I would guess with all those recruits, you would have some stories to tell. My M16 rifle training was at Ft. Sill in late July or early August...108F (You quickly learned to keep your black weapon in your own shadow at all times)
.

Dad did basic at Ft Sill in 43

barbecued some nice tuna steaks for lunch
fish was on sale for 8 dollars a pound plus no country of origin so I'm hoping
that means it was caught off coastal US...

So ... how were they ?

They look very tasty ... :licking:

Nice day, all told...
Dump was closed, so brought back the trash...bummer, but I should have checked first...
Mowed, weed trimmed, but will continue that tomorrow

I'd written about an Irish Whiskey called Connemara a few weeks ago. I bought a bottle (not cheap!!) couple weeks back and finally cracked into it...very nice! Nice peaty taste and, if you like a single malt Scotch, you might like this one

That's usually a near-daily occurrence ... with some implement or another ...

Hope your air clears up soon and you guys get some early rain ... ;)

I am sitting on porch with the 3 legged cat tripod enjoying this weather. Wow, 66ー

It would sure be nice if we could get a couple more months of it ... :D

Funny how tripod sits almost on her back, such a loving cat. Just wants petted.

Nice looking cat ...

Couple crows cawing around.

This afternoon, while I was taking a break and giving my back a rest, I was sitting in a lawn chair out at the planting bed and heard a bird calling from the top of one of the hawthorns. Was eventually able to pick it out ... not sure exactly what it was, but it was largely orange ... might have been some kind of oriole or a scarlet tanager, going into fall coloration.

First orangish bird have ever seen around here ... if ya leave out the robins.

David(moss) good thing you are flexible :)
Billy, have fun checking out new trails and possibilities
RNG Bummer about the van, so Cali wont just smog test the tail pipe? Missouri requires all late registrations pay all the missed years and late fees so Cali not alone in that department
RS plenty to do ...
RNG thanks for link, yes rain will really help
Bird that is interesting how some people like shooting guns and some don't.
Thomas congrats on blade, and on MRS approval. Did you get more paint on blade than on you or kittens?
Randy, love to hear grandson updates.
Drew yummy looking tuna

Got it running.

Mowed front yard with it then switched to ZT.
Mowed all of yard and field.
Went to put ZT on mower lift, didn’t quite fit. Added washers as spacers to widen the wheel baskets and just Barely fits now.

Blades Takes 1 1/4” socket which I have but couldn’t budge, might need to get air impact, but don’t have one that large for impact.

Awesome ...

I use a non-impact socket on my 1/2" impact wrench to remove the blades on the Kubota MMM ... haven't broken it ... yet ... :D

Rswyan, your pics look great. But sometimes you wear me out LOL.

Is your kubota blades regular thread or reverse? My RFM is reverse threaded, husqvarna is regular. I was surprised how clean the kubota deck was.

IIRC, they are regular - clockwise to tighten, counter to loosen. The bolt/washer setup on it looks pretty much identical to yours.

I was surprised how clean the kubota deck was.

Yeah ... I don't see all that much buildup on mine either.

What is one of your recipes, or do you have a favorite website?

It is relatively simple:
5lbs+ground beef (either pre ground or we buy whatever beef is on sale for cheaper.... sometimes brisket, which we grind ourselves)
5lbs+ ground chicken (we buy boneless breast and grind ourselves)
3lbs of either beef liver, chicken gizzards, or chicken livers (or Any combination of)(again ground up by us)
36 large eggs
2 lbs frozen peas / carrots / mixed vegetables
5lbs of fresh yams / sweet potatoes (cooked and peeled) or equivalent weight of canned yams
1 cup of unrefined coconut oil
2 cups (mixed liquid) of dry powdered goats milk (1 scoop per 8oz warm water makes 1 cup) (Whole vitamin D Milk can be used but is not as good)
8 oz of brown rice (precooked)
2 cups of quick oats
1 cup of dried Flaked parsley

Sometimes added: fresh broccoli or fresh cauliflower (diced into small pieces)

All meat ingredients are combined in a very large pot (or equally divided in two smaller) with the coconut oil, Goats milk, and parsley added.
Cook over low heat, stirring ingredients frequently until meat is "no longer pink" .

Eggs are added and stirred into meat mixture. Allow to cook, stirring occasionally until eggs look like chunks of scrambled eggs.

Then add all vegetables, allow to simmer approximately another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add precooked rice, stirring until well mixed. Turn off heat and let stand approximately 10-15 minutes.

A good amount of fluid will rise to the surface, add the quick oats, spread on top of the fluid to absorb, then stir in the oatmeal until well mixed.

Once cooled to "warm to touch", we spoon out into 6x9 storage containers (I believe they are 1 qt. Containers) then freeze. A container lasts us 2 days, (4 feedings) for 2 dogs (1- 15 lbs, 1-35 lbs). Feedings are weight based: 1-1.5 oz per pound of optimal body weight, slightly more for younger active dogs, slightly less for older inactive dogs. (Max, our 35 lb gets 1 1/2 measured cups (24oz) Twice a day)

Oh, I cannot forget about the treat added on top of their food added every other day.... a half of a cooked chicken frank sliced up and mixed in.

We actually have a lab breakdown of all the Protein, vitamin and mineral content somewhere....?? The vet reviewed the ingredients and the lab report... said it was great..

Good Morning. The temperature in North Bay is a balmy 46 ー F.
The sky is clear, although I drove through on and off rain showers all the way south from Thunder Bay. I am back in home territory for the rest of the summer.
That being said, I will not be on much until I take my annual winter holidays. All 6-7 months of them.lol

My old C-15 Cat is on her last legs. Almost 1,000,000 miles on her and she has lots of blowby. The company will not rebuild it.
They will get rid of the truck. The only other truck in the fleet that is up for grabs is a 17 International LT with a 18 spd. I think I will grab it. All the rest of them are automatics. There are two of us on this haul, me with the 18 spd Cat C-15 and buddy with a autoshift International LT and an ISX Cummins pushing 500 horses. The both of us are hauling 138,000 lbs up 7 and 8 percent grades, mostly on gravel is not fun with the 18 spd and buddy with his auto just hates it.

Be safe and healthy all
