The sun is making a bit of a surprise appearance this morning. A little extra solar warmth will do no harm as these last few days we have been at almost woodburner time temperatures.
Buppies, I bet your professional groundwork excavations went a lot quicker than my amateur efforts. When digging anywhere in a field, there is always the slight chance of finding buried treasure ( not that that's happened to me yet, the only finds I recall are odd bits of pottery and a sardine can). Around a farm building it's a sure bet that any metal finds are agricultural parts that were already useless when they got covered in concrete. I'm not sure if at the time it was done for reinforcing strength, or because it gave someone pleasure to think that one day some silly idiot like me would be spending an inordinate amount of time slowly getting it out again.
RS, you certainly had a lucky escape, fire and leaking petrol are not good to have around people. Makes me think, if (or when) we need to buy another ride on grass cutter, it would be safer to get one with a little diesel engine. Certainly then easier to refuel from the diesel storage tank.
Oops, just realized I said petrol. I know petrol is what you call "gas" - except someone here will remind me it costs us 4 times as much  What would you call oxygen, butane, propane etc ? do you think of them as a "gas", or do you have another word for something that has gone past it's liquid state ?
