Kyle, sure hope your friend’s Dr told him what dosage. I’m guessing OTC 200mg. The prescription 800mg industrial strength, limit 4, but don’t think I’ve ever taken more than 2 in a day.

Good evening, just an update on the headache.... almost totally subsided. Still a little prevalent when I bend over, but otherwise ok. Took a very warm shower this evening, and a bunch of "stuff" was able to drain from the sinuses. I will monitor closely....

Around forty years ago I got an incredibly nasty sinus infection one winter, lasted more than a week and my sinuses were very sore and they wouldn't clear ...

Eventually they did though ... when that happened I had a big wad of semi-solid bloody goo about the size of a baseball or a little bigger drop into the back of my throat and then into my mouth.

Wouldn't have believed it was even possible if I hadn't experienced it.

Now I have to ask for the group for collective support and prayers.... my daughter just called and reported that she had a mammogram done today.... an abnormal mass was found and she is scheduled for an immediate biopsy/ lumpectomy. The surgeon is waiting for an "official" radiology report, due back tomorrow. He will then determine the next steps. She is a single mom with three children...

Hope all turns out well for her and the family.

Just the 200mg OTC.

Kyle,

I was taking Saw Palmetto back a number of years ago when I first started having BPH issues ... seemed to help at the time.

Fell off the wagon though and have since found Tamsulosin (generic FloMax) to work well for me.

73 going to 90, then cool and low humidity tomorrow.

Roy, glad you got good test results.

Ted, prayers for your daughter, and for your headache to be a simple fix.

RNG, I've saved those vids to watch later today. Thanks for sharing.

RS, nice pix...your place is looking great.

Did a dump run/diesel fuel refill, then cleaned the crud from the bottom of the mower, and mowed for a couple of hours. Still haven't finished all the trails.

Haven't seen any deer flies since August 8, when my 2020 kill count was 1,940. I even tempted them on my hikes by not carrying my butterfly net, but only takers were a couple of mosquitos. Still not seeing yellow jackets or bald face hornets on the h-bird feeders. Saw very few last year, but then once autumn dropped the leaves on the trees, saw a huge new nest up in the top of a sugar maple about 100 yards away...guess they just had better places to go than around our house.

My cell phone must be broken...says it is Friday...couldn't already be Friday, could it?

LS, you certainly have my prayers, Ellen is dealing with the same situation. She hoes at 9 this morning for a back up mammogram/sonogram. She has a small shadow. They think it’s from a calcium deposit years ago that was tagged, same area. But there’s nothing like peace of mind.

Got some rain over the last week.
Nowhere near enough about 3/4” but some is better than none.
Weekend looking good, mid seventies low humidity and sunshine.
Not much going on, grocery pickup and gather more stuff for a dump run.

To Roy and others on the mend

Enjoy your day everyone.

good morning all. Another very hot day, 79 out now going up to 96+++ and then finally tomorrow
the heat wave breaks and temps drop by ten degrees. Yeah..

Ted, lots of prayers for your daughter, and a good outcome. Scary thing for a parent to hear. As I've said before, us guys
always want to "fix things" and when we ourselves have a problem, not so worrisome, but when it's someone we love, just scary to deal with.
Please tell your daughter lots of folks are praying for her and sending positive vibes.

RS, back yard looks lovely. We had a big gingko tree on farm growing up, and it was a lovely tree with pretty unusual leaves. But oh my when
that fruit dropped, and started to rot, what a smell...even the squirrels didn't want to eat it.
Mostly happy anniversary!
M7040 good luck fixing tractor starter, get that old girl running again

everything I have read tells me to be very cautious with OTC pain killers, most of them are very hard on the liver.
My understanding is Tylenol is least worrisome but even then one shouldn't take it for very long.
as the docs say PRN...only as needed and not scheduled or regular.

off to laundry this morning and then food shopping. Going to have some waffles, veggie sausage and maple syrup for breakfast.
When I get back, will call oncologist and cardiologist in PA to start making appts for late October. And urologist, endocrinologist,
rheumatologist, etc etc.....sigh. Plus have to find a primary doc again; will ask my brother who lives there who he recommends.

Poured first cup of coffee. 48° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with lots of sun. Got car maintenance done yesterday. Do some grocery shopping this morning. Then clean up some of the last weeks projects. Good to spend some time on porch enjoying cooler weather.
Frog on almost every rock around garden pond.

Roy, good news.

LS, I would get very bad sinus head aches. After I stared using a Netty Pot. I have been able to head all of them off. I now have a electric pump type. Works much better that the netty pot. Need to use distilled water and proper saline solution. Must be kept clean. Special Prayers for your daughter.

Drew, good luck finding the right place to live when you move.

RS, great pictures.

Kyle, IBUPROFEN works great for sore muscles and other pain. But can be very hard on stomach and intestines. My list of do not take includes it. On second day of taking it. I will have blood in the stool. Hope your daughter finds a warm place in the sun.

RNG, hope USPS finds your package and place.

Wngsprd, Yup it's TGIF.

David, when my back aches I use a damp heat pad. Works best for me.

Mostly, unless I leave my Cable Box on all the time. Sony Audio/Video will not get signal from cable box. Mine TV is a Vizio.

Randy, prayers for Ellen.

Everyone be healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

The Unifi network guru just released another YouTube video in which he designs three versions of a wifi setup for a large ranch style home. Seems like a great blueprint for those interested in exploring the Unifi way of gittin' 'er done...

RNG,

Just for Kicks, check out Ruckus Wireless

I just so happen to work for CommScope (I sell networking & wireless to the Intelligence Community), who a bit over a year ago bought Ruckus and chattels (brocade, foundry, arris). My understanding is we are the preeminent WiFi access points (mostly for commercial).

I am working with one of my top engineers to determine a way to provide the very BEST WiFi for my new home, including the large shed and the detached garage I plan to build. I'm looking at an outside unit or a mesh network. I'll let you know how it resolves.

Be well,
David

WOW!!! I'm way behind again...

LS - Please get that nasty headache checked out. I know, I hate DR's also, and only go when I have no other choice, but we all need our brains...

Roy - Flipping Fantastic News!!!! Outstanding!!!

PS, Mostly, and everyone else I've forgotten, skipped, missed - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I pray for all of you guys regularly, because I love ya, and this is the coolest spot on the Interwebs.

All-o-y'all Dudes stay cool and be well.
David

Paul, with your musical talents, does that bother you much? When you aren't thinking about it...
remember the story a ways back where I went to the Ram dealer and ordered a new door speaker, sure it had blown out.
No, it was the tinnitus. I have 80 percent hearing loss in left ear, not good on the "stereo" effect...headphones help though.

David/MFW, 1100 foot driveway with parking area, previously sandy gravel, resloped and paved, $16k, but after they left, they refused to come back and fix the
messed up edges. I wish Buppies had been closer...

After that probably go ahead and remove the FEL and stick the MMM on
that doesn't sound like plug and play RS. How long does that take you? Can you drive up on deck?

90/99 and getting hotter.

I too have hearing loss and tinnitus. I read somewhere that in most cases, the tinniest is white noise, hissing. In some cases people hear birds chirping. That痴 me. I learned that when, in the forest of Oregon, I asked my buddy where are all the birds I keep hearing. Nope, tinniest.

I live in a tree farm so bird chirping ain稚 too bad, could be worse.

I was diagnosed with....profound hearing loss....but the funny thing is, I was at the Portland blues festival, maybe biggest in the world?, and they are doing hearing tests? Funny.
