I went out to the shop and started cutting some metal for the welding cart.... then I remembered that I saved the old frame from the gas grill....mmmmm.
Went over to the scrap pile and eyeballed it to see if it would work.... it would surprisingly well...
So, made a frame for around the bottom, welded on the 4" casters, then set the grill frame over and welded those together. Measured for the top frame, cut the angle iron and welded that all together. Painted up all the new metal, letting it dry overnight. The shelves on both ends have notches to hold barbecue tools.... they will work perfectly to hold the torches.
Originally I was going to cut off one of the shelves, but realized I could cut out a circle and use it to hold the Argon tank upright. It's heavy plastic so really easy to do! It's secured from the bottom with big plastic knobs / bolts, so easy to remove for tank changes.
I saved a bunch of time, materials, and was able to repurpose some old scrap.... I still have to clean the shelves up a bit, but will turn out nicer than what I was originally planning. Here's a couple of " in progress" pics.
