RNG, are you affected by California's rolling blackouts?

I highly recommend this gizmo, cheap and works great.

Brownouts are worse, very hard on compressors.
Learned about this after paying for new a/c unit in my boat, which overheated/compressor seized due to crappy shore power at old marina with
inadequate juice during hot summer afternoons. When I finally metered the receptacle, 108 volts, not good at all. Lowest utility readings I've seen at 5pm during summer
was 113 volts. I think at 110 volts might consider shutting off any compressors.

while there's no direct cost to low voltage (watts equals volts times amps) indirect cost can be huge.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 69° with thunderstorms this morning. Heading to 79° with clearing skies in afternoon. Most of the rain has missed us. So far. .03". Weather map looks like may get a direct hit soon. Sure do need some rain. No plans for today.
Clouds yesterday evening. Looking east.

Drew, I have one of those in my shop. Kept it when I sold motorhome. I highly recommenced a surge guard of some sort for surge protection for a RV or boat. The better ones monitor high, low voltage and proper polarity.

RNG, good collection of bikes. Good luck with van project.

Kyle, I still have one of those wrenches from a 049 engine I put in a boat I built many years ago. Finding it could be a problem if I needed it.

Randy, you may need a nap today.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

You guys remember Sugar Foot and Bronco Lane, as well as Colt .45 and Cheyenne? How about Ringo, the Durango Kid, The Bounty Hunter, The Texan, etc...?

Don't forget...Wanted: Dead or Alive with Steve McQueen.

I need a nap every day, but when nature calls, one must obey.
Great cloud shot!

66 and drizzle shizzle, going to 74. Rained all day and night.

Ron, beautiful photo again. We've been living inside that thing most of the month...over 13.5 inches of rain so far...one spot on the other side of the area got 8.68 inches just over the last 24 hours.

I'm putting pontoons on my zero turn and swimmies on the chipmunks. Funny how the cool rain has made the hummingbirds eat in a frenzy, more than when in the 90s.

Ted, nice looking pies (woops, I mean cabinet).

Kyle, expect to see some RC pix.

A cool front has arrived. Only 79 degrees this morning going for 101; yep, about 3 to 5 degrees cooler than it has been lately. And we even have a 30%l chance of rain today and 50% tomorrow. The lawns around here, including mine, are showing the effects of a lack of rain, even if they're getting watered some. We've had no rain, so far, this month.

Good question, Drew. The inverters monitor incoming AC power, and will disconnect if it falls below 108 VAC or goes above 132 VAC. If that happens, the battery will support household loads until its voltage falls to 50.8 VDC, which is supposed to be where it still retains 80% of its charge. At that point, the system will automatically start the generator. During all of these modes, the inverters are aiming for about 244 VAC output. By that I mean that all of the household loads are now powered by the inverters, so a brownout on the grid would have no effect on any of the household loads. All incoming AC power from the grid goes to the charge controllers to charge the battery, unless I deliberately bypass the system, but that would require me to flip four breakers out in the garage.

So far, there haven't been any power interruptions here, but then again, the generator is so quiet I might not have noticed if there were. And that's the whole reason the system was built. To heck with PG&E!

Nice cloud shot.

Was overcast yesterday with a few drops of rain every so often, just enough to wet the grass and keep it damp. We are at western edge of the big rainstorm on the coast.
Amazon delivered my can of spray sea foam, might try that later.
Our hair cut lady came to house and cut our hair out on the front porch.
Yesterday was a sit around and do paperwork and pay bills day. Felt like I wasted the day. I still track all spending in quicken.
Had 1 amazon item I can’t account for, but think it is the difference in a shirt I exchanged and never got the original back to them because of Covid. It’s still in my car, a way oversized carhartt shirt. Guess I bought a rag.
Need to check brake pads on Subaru, thought I heard some squeal in them Friday. Original tires and brakes at 74k miles.
A year ago today I walked for 1st time with a walker since GBS. We were also planning my helicopter escape this time last year.

My feet and toes been having lot more tingling lately.

I lead singing at worship today, gotta get moving.
