wngsprd,
We've been living inside that thing most of the month...over 13.5 inches of rain so far...one spot on the other side of the area got 8.68 inches just over the last 24 hours.

I'm putting pontoons on my zero turn and swimmies on the chipmunks. Funny how the cool rain has made the hummingbirds eat in a frenzy, more than when in the 90s.

All that rain and still more to come that should wash the spots of the fawns.

Ron,

Sorry to hear of Muffin's passing.

Our friends here lost one of their cats yesterday through a tragic accident.

Hard to deal with a loss of a loved pet.

73F and sunny @ 11:00, high predicted to be 82F.

Last of first coat of BLO applied to auger rack bottom yesterday, also 2nd and 3rd coats. Drilled for additional 4 x 4 pieces, and then got those screwed on. Also more sanding done on top of rack ... should be able to get that finished up today and get it put together.

The Woman noticed that there seemed to be something in the live trap last evening after dinner. I didn't even bother to check it yesterday as the bait had been raided from it a couple of nights before. Sure enough, there was good sized raccoon in it. Got MMM removed and FEL put back on and handled that. Makes three so far this year.

She was also making some noises about wanting some desert so I said "Oatmeal raisin cookies" and she said "I might just do that ..." ... but ended up going to bed instead. So I made up a batch last night and left them on the counter for her to find this morning ...

Got more retaining wall block and geogrid ordered from Menards before I went to bed.

Possibility we could see some rain from that line of showers that Ron was seeing and we could sure use it - in July alone we had a rainfall deficit of a little over 2.25". July was also the warmest ever since record-keeping began.

Plans for today:

Finish up auger rack.

Finish up filling in around catch basin, seed grass, and cover with straw.

Take down oak tree in front of garage.

Probably some other things to do if we get all those done.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

BEF, it was a year ago yesterday that I got out of the hospital after a three week stay and a new stent. I really didn’t start walking well until I had my valve done.

69°F and .03 inches rain.

No set agenda for the day, just take it as it comes, but after my 4 miles on the bike and coffee.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Chores done...looks like the Seafoam Deep Creep did the job!!! I've been using a drop light to check the functionality...but one of you posted using a ceramic heater to put a load on a generator. I think that's a great idea and I wish I remembered who posted, so I could thank him or her

Think I'll just stick with the beer (PBR) and a couple shots of Jameson today....I noticed I've been spelling beer "beere". Must be because I'm a Deere guy and muscle memory does it's thing...:)

It's still raining, but it looks like we are almost on the back edge of it.

Had .3” of rain overnight.
Grass looked dry, so I took the ZT down along the creek. Still wet down there, but got it and some of the steep hill mowed. Some just too damp and I slide down the hill, so that part can wait.
Kept eying across the creek, been awhile, so I went over. The weeds were tall, 1-2 ft since I last mowed there, but I put the deck up high and got it done. Didn’t go too close to edges as I couldn’t tell where big sticks and tree trunks might be. Started raining as I was finishing.
Then came back to far back field and continued, but started raining harder and I put it away.
Still got some in back field that hasn’t been mowed in awhile, and the rest of yard needs mowed again.
Neighbor across road still mowing in the rain.

I hope I won't need it either...
There are a number of YouTube videos on converting a portable genny into a semi-permanent shed
Until I can afford a whole house genny...this might be a good option
