Good morning to all! Don't exactly know what the low was, but it was in the upper 50s. Going for.... 89... again. Forecast says 89, but it hit 94 here yesterday. Spotty clouds, no rain.

Spent way too much time out in the heat killing those weeds yesterday! I also found quite a few muscles in my back that have been on sabbatical ! I am really sore this morning, but the mission was accomplished! Hopefully I will get out on the garden tractor and mow those areas before the weeds grow back along the borders. I have been hoping for a rain shower to help keep the dust down.

Today is the first day of "online School" for my grandson, Grandma will be watching/helping him get started. All new for all parties involved, should be interesting.....
Why the grandson is here is a whole other story way to long and complicated to get into now....

I am going to go hide in the shop..... maybe I can be productive and get those doors built!

You guys are really busy... I am glad that Mostly is keeping tabs.... I would be lost without the recap....

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning - 71 going to 91 and sunny.
Friday had 2" rain in about 20 minutes, and lost power again until sometime Saturday morning. Used the generator 3 times in three days.
More branches to clean up and neighbor took down the ash partially dropped last week, when it hit the ground, it shattered into lots of pieces!
Still haven't taken down the one iffy Ash on my side property. Probably another dozen ashes falling in the woods, all seem to be shifting in a non-destructive direction, but that one.

So one Doe and Fawn is now one Doe and small Doe, One Doe and Fawn is now one Doe, one Buck. So Mother/Duaghter-Mother/Son , see them almost daily.

Finished cleaning up sticks etc. and was able to mow three lawns yesterday- popped the lawn tractor belt and had to loosen the pulley after dropping the deck. All good now.

Not much to do with the tractor, just lifting branches to cut them up.
Lots of bush trimming and some weed whacking- trying to clean up here since my brother and cousins are coming over this weekend!

Drew-nice view
BEF - good deal on the fixes-always better the battery than a rewire and disassemble
Roy-on my brushcutter I could not get to run right-disassembled carb and did a thorough cleaning as now no new replacement carb exists-lo and behold it works again! Maybe time to look and make sure crud not in bowl, or rusted pin

I hope Jay pops back up soon, it's been a while.

Stay safe and be well

75°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 94° today. We back down back into the 80s for the rest of the week, but man, August has definitely arrived today. Storms forecast for pretty much everyday this week.

Spent much of the day Friday on the mower. Got most everything mowed, other than the few spots that are still inhospitable to a zero turn. Going to have to get into those areas with the walk behind trimmer.

Saturday was a rainout, so we spent the day doing inside stuff. We had some severe thunderstorms pass through Sunday as well, with thunder loud enough that I could hear it clearly and feel it while inside the studio. The dogs didn't find it amusing at all. We had a brief power outage that, if nothing else, served as a confirmation that my UPS in the studio works.

We have a bunch of those natural sounds CDs as well, BEF. Very relaxing stuff.
Nice job getting the tractor running, too.

That's a good-looking kitty, RS.

Happy paradise anniversary, David (& Sophie).

I have a bunch of friends vacationing in Mexico this week. Instead of their usual Cancun resort, they decided to rent a house on Isla Mujeres. They've been posting pictures on Facebook, and honestly ... it looks like they're staying in a, well, not the best part of town. One friend posted that they can't go into the water (because of Covid), so they're sitting on the beach drinking. Not sure I fully appreciate such a "vacation," but it's not my money.

Nice pictures, fellas ... as usual.

Hope all is well with Jay and his wife.

any moment now I expect to find my nice Amish leather flyswatter...since I gave up and went into Walgreens and bought a two pack of perfectly well made
swatters for 2.49...and this was after walking through half of Lowes being told the wrong place twice, and then being told "oh they could be anywhere". Gosh that is perturbing and they wonder why they lose business to Amazon.

Got my covid swab at a drivethrough testing place near the hospital, easy peasy, one side only after blowing nose and they gave me two free masks, how nice.
Tickled a bit, they hold it in there and spin it for a count of five seconds.

No hookups at the River Don, nice idea...none of any kind...;)

Randy I agree with you about "soft" but not mushy. I've never been an al dente guy, dislike crunchy asparagus.
I think the veggies don't get sweet enough until you cook them fairly well. Limas taste mealy and like cardboard if you don't cook them enough,
and "green"... But not much leeway to get it right, I prefer cooking them in conventional steamer.

My partner in our real estate/insurance business used to love making Fordhook lima bean sandwiches, which frankly I thought was a bit weird but
he clearly loved the beans. A little salt and pepper and butter and I'm good to go.

85F and clear @ 12:00, feels like 89F.

Have to fix the OBD connector/bracket (it's hanging loose) on The Woman's car today so she can take in and get it E-Checked so the registration can be renewed.

Then probably finish greasing MMM, remove loader and install it on Kubota, followed by a trip to Menards to pick up order. Good news on rebate extension ...

After that more work on filling knot hole, sanding auger rack, maybe get it coated with BLO. Once the rear of the garage is in shade later rehang siding and caulk.

Probably do a tag team and switch off on the mowing.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

69°F and .26 inches rain. Just stopped a few minutes ago and sun peeking through. Maybe it will dry.

Zoom happy hour this afternoon - the highlight of our social life.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning! 78˚F, wet bulb temp75˚F, Cloudy heading to 97˚F.
I took advantage of the Wet Bulb Temp yesterday- after swimming I went straight to the garden in wet swim trunks It felt like 79˚F but was really 99˚F.

RS why does The Squeak need a harness?

Squeak really, really, really wants to go outside.

She is young and fast, and we are old and slow ... plus she does not necessarily always respond to voice commands.

And there are hawks around. She would make a tasty snack.

Been a long time since I had any fried okra ... which sounds good to me. Might even be good in gumbo ... which also sounds good ...

Roy, what has worked for others is getting a bottle of Sea Foam and a spray bottle, take the air cleaner off, and after starting, spray the Sea Foam into carb pretty heavily,
should smoke or even gag a little, but it could clean out clogged jets for you. Unless you have an inline fuel filter that is clogged, this is usually the quickest and easiest way to ungunk a carb. Plus it's very concentrated and not diluted like adding it to your fuel. I've used SeaFoam in my machinery and cars for years, plus E0 and all the old problems disappeared.

I'll give that a try, Drew...thank you very much!
I really don't want to yank the carb...it's really packed in there and I don't want to disassemble the genny
