This is not some budget outfit, they overlay the entire Verizon grid. Being as I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck, I spent two months looking for the catch before switching, after three years, it doesn’t exist. Some people require a comfort factor, sometimes you have to trust your instincts and research.

I'm glad your Xfinitiy service is working for you all. But I trust experience more than I do research, and especially instinct. I mentioned StraighTalk in my example because of the nightmare experience I suffered on the month long trip to Ohio to settle my parent's estate. To recap, there was no internet service at the house, and I'd planned to tether my laptop to the iPhone and use the StraighTalk cellular network. And it didn't work because StraighTalk does not allow tethering. And yes, I specifically asked about tethering BEFORE I moved to StraighTalk from the Verizon network, so the StraighTalk rep just plain lied to me when I asked. So there I was, stuck in BFE Ohio, with only an iPhone for network access. For a month. In one phone call, which admittedly involved being transferred four times between four different Verizon techs, all of which spoke English as a native language, I was back on the Verizon network, as if I'd never left.

An example of the coverage issue happens every year when I make the trip to Death Valley National Park for the better part of a week. Verizon has licensed the sparse cellular network there, and the iPhone works fine when I walk over to the main Furnace Creek building complex. My AT&T and off brand friends are left out in the cold, not just for internet, but voice as well. I don't know the situation with Xfinity there, though, but it's been my experience that if anyone is gonna have cellular reception in the remote places in which I tend to spend vacation time, it's gonna be Verizon customers.

Eric, half a project is trying to find the stuff you can't find. I know I had one, but did I loan it or throw it away???

Or where did I put it?

Probably the main reason I haven't started building that shop I'd love to have is I'd have three times the room in which to lose things...

Tesla Picks Texas for Cybertruck Factory

should be a fun factory tour for a number of you. What a bizarre looking truck...I'm sure it will star in a lot
of upcoming sci-fi movies.

light rain has started, at least it's keeping the temps down

67°F and 1.27 inches rain - Douglas cometh

Need to check that things are secure just in case. Would like to finish mowing but that’s wx dependent.

Zucchini starting to come in, already giving away.

Feels like yesterday was a Friday, I guess due to spending the day in town. Wife commented on it last night and I had to agree. Sure miss the old normal.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Eric, sounds like you may be retired already. I have too many days like that too often.

Which Comcast shadows, if Verizon works, Xfinity works, for a lot less money. I’ve had it three years and travelled from here to Florida, to the remote mountains of NC and Tennessee. So far so good.

Toppop, when I get settled back in PA, I will investigate this, compare bars of coverage, etc. Thanks for info. I'm paying close to 100 bucks a month for my cell
phone and my Mifi hot spot. I'm sure I'm helping Verizon make all those big profits...
I also know I can work off my cell phone for internet coverage (is that what you refer to as tethering?) but was told separate unit had better speed. ???

David, looks like your weekend in Hawaii is going to be more exciting than you hoped for. Batten down the hatches.

Your coverage is going to be identical to Verizon because it overlays Verizon’s network.
