Good morning!!!!

Don glad your getting some cooler air,

They lied it was 99˚F today. Up late trying to get the new weather station on line, finally figured it out. The router and phone were on 5G and that is not compatible with the station. I Put the phone on the router's 4G and now it is working. The weather station does not have a separate monitor it runs through your phone or pad.

RNG, talk about opening a can of (rusty) worms . . . is this the beginning of another multiple year project?
I bet your nozzle was getting stopped up a lot.

77 going to 98. Yesterday's porch thermometer hit 101 for the highest temp anytime I looked at it.

RNG, job security! But after looking at that pic with the TLB, my next project would be a guard rail along the driveway

Don, glad you got the 4G vs 5G figured out. I don't think we have any 5G around here.

Did a dump run and diesel jug refill yesterday. Otherwise tried to stay cool.

Just went outside...had to deal with a skunk in the front yard under the bird feeders. The smell hit me as soon as I opened the door, now much worse. I thought maybe sprinkling some cat litter at the spot might help. But with no cats, will have to make a trip to pick some up. Haven't gotten any skunks on the trail cams, so wonder if this one came from across the road.

Ditto on wngsprd weather. Weather missed us yesterday. T-Storms went right around us. We are parched. Should hit 100 again today. Heat index for yesterday was 105 and today will be the same. Screen shot of the 100 yesterday, after two plus weeks of this stuff---.

More front porch work is in order. Still no wood, need to order siding. And, need to start thinking about removing the windows.

Wife ordered 3 more waterers for pastures, and 1000 feet of plumbing showed up. Then an excavator got delivered. Looks like I'll be digging some new lines the next few days. Didn't think that would happen this week. Need to work on my scheduling. LOL.

Have a great day all. Be safe.

Good morning, nice calm and dry day here, ideal conditions for a bit of target practice before I start on the next field of thistles. Yesterday I spent a few hours pumping water and making a start on shovelling mud by hand - no backhoe available:(. It needs another day, but best not to have too much fun all at once. The clay layer is not far down, lots of stones and house slates in there too, so I think others in the past have also favoured this spot as a crossing place. You may just make out in one of the pics the same family of ducks that has been watching me closely ever since I started this a few weeks ago.

You might not put much stock in heat indexes but the experts and this old eastern Carolina boy does. The stress on your body goes up exponentially when the dew point 75 vs 60.
Can't argue with an old eastern Carolina boy, since that's in my DNA, too.
Have you heard that many younger boys think heat index has had it's day ? When a single number is wanted to represent how potentially stressful the heat is, they now have little hand held instruments that measure temperature, humidity, wind and solar irradiation combined together to give something called " wet-bulb globe temperature" (WBGT).
This video shows WBGT being used to protect school kids during sporting events in Carolina.

Wng, once there are inexpensive meters for measuring smell, would units of dead skunk be a good indicator of how oppressive the weather is ? :)

Coffee is done brewing. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 82° with clouds and sun. Finished up inside chores yesterday. Not sure what I will get into today. List is long.
Turkey hen and chick. Sunrise had lots of color again this morning. But I had already done this picture.

Drew, hope you got enough boxes.

David, great Sophie flower picture.

RNG, not sure how you get into such large projects. :confused2: One of my boats had a fuel tank leak. After removing it from boat had it sealed with a coating. But do not remember who did it.

Riptide, your list is like my list. Keeps getting longer.

Wngsprd, almost all newer WiFi routers have 5G. Skunk smell always last all day when I get a whiff of it.

Eric, do you use a WGBT when working in your muck?

Ken, hope you get leak fixed without to much more digging.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Don, glad you got the 4G vs 5G figured out. I don't think we have any 5G around here.
d.

I think don meant 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz router bands. Some wireless devices only use the older 2.4.

Need to release that skunk in the protesters.

good morning all
another hot and sticky day today with thunderstorms this afternoon
I have a neurology appt after lunch and expect to get wet...
Simply routine, same office as neurosurgeon who was going to operate on my back, likely
seeing me only because I had a stroke and they want to sign off on me. Five minutes away, then trip to ATM to deposit
a check and get cash. Campground asked to be paid in cash...ok.

looking forward to driving my car for first time in three months.
