RonJH- It pays to have a sense of humor in times like these even if Wifey goes under the bus. I can kind of understand why she used a fork, but I have yet to make sense of the oven mitts, and napkin that she left behind in the garden.... She picked the wrong garden for a salad. Oh well. I really have a hankering to get a taste of that smoked ribeye steak at that nearby restaurant who do serve outdoors on weekends and may now have limited indoor seating and they have a really large unused dining area.

Good luck with the BP meds. Stainless steel tableware works pretty well in sandy/silty loam.

Jay, in all seriousness, I hope that you and Peg are able to figure out a balance with her and the meds. As you are aware of the consequences of stopping "cold turkey ".

Even though I live above Lake Oroville, it's way to far away to draft from, and the water level would be at least 100' below the pump. Not to mention the fine if I got caught.

Looking a little closer at the smaller of the two suction lines (the one marked with a "2" near the bottom of the panel, the one without the valve handle on it), the locking collar is marked 2 1/2, and the documentation references 2 1/2" discharge and suction valves. Just not sure at this point if that smaller line is for drafting or discharge.

:welcome: Tom! I also tried moving the various valves around this morning, and some are very stiff. I wonder about using petroleum based lubricants on them, though. Do valves of this type use o-rings, which might be damaged by such lubricants, or are they more likely to have old fashioned string packing in there? Wait one, the maintenance instructions do mention o-rings, and suggest Dow-Coring "Valve-Seal" as a lubricant. I'm thinkin' I'll try a little aerosol silicon lube first, being as how that would be easy.

RNG .. a suggestion would be to take very detailed pictures of your controls, inventory everything on the truck, hoses, adapters, tools, etc and pay a visit to your local fire department. They can be a wealth of knowledge and will likely enjoy getting you started. They can also help you resource anything you need or are missing. They can be very helpful on maintenance procedures and repairs. If it's a VFD they might even help you out with some of their excess adapters and such. It's a good relationship to develop.

You likely have 2 1/2" and 1 1/2". For your needs it will be the 1 1/2" especially since it not feasible for you to use the 2 1/2" on your own. Even the 1 1/2" is a handful at 100 psi.

In our ops, the 2 1/2" is a 4-5 man operation. One man running the pumper controls, one on nozzle, one supporting nozzleman against the pressure, and one or two men handling the hose. We swap positions on about 10 minute intervals.

Good evening all. 77F for the start, few stray clouds, light breeze. Moderate wind day, sky became partly cloudy and high temp 94F , feels like 106F. First off thanks for all the birthday wishes and thoughts, have passed 3k miles but 50 mile behind pace so far. This morning did work on wood pile. new vent worked on chainsaw, and got the last wood split and stacked, now need to finish kindling. Cleaned up for dentist visit, they were behind when I got there, but no warning prior teeth and gums all ok. Shopped while in town then home for nap and tried out new wet/dry vac and put together new roller stool. Then dinner and back home.

Work air compressor saga. re-hash: it is an Ingersoll Rand 30 hp scroll compressor. when turned on, it will run for a few seconds, and when the scroll starts to pump air, it starts squealing the belt. We procured some more of the synthetic oil/coolant and put another gallon in it. It has a tube on the side of the oil housing to show the level. It has about a 1.5" difference between low and high, which is close to 1.5 gallons between max and min. So it now has about 8 quarts in it. There is an aluminum intake that has a "modulator" valve in it. I rebuilt that today, but it did not fix the problem. We have another control part in stock I may replace Monday just to strike it off the list.

I stayed late to finish making gaskets (cut by hand) for the speedaire. I need to go get some Permatex #2 form a gasket (non-hardening). questionaire: What's your favorite gasket goop? Would love to get the thing running tomorrow, but I need to rewire the main 220v cord. The old cord's insulation was pulled back too far by the previous owner.

Not enough data and peer reviews to be a real silver bullet at this time but sounds promising. Dr. Bartlett has 0 deaths with his covid patients. patients report feeling better after one inhaling treatment. He cites Taiwan's extremly low death rate on inhaling budesonide. Drug has been around for 20 Years and given to pre-mature babies.

BEF, Clovelly harbour in your Dad's postcard is a beautiful place. Unless you have a boat, you can only get to it by walking down a long, narrow and very steep cobbled street, I wonder if he remembers that ? Had a look online and the Red Lion is still there, it has just reopened this week after the Covid shutdown

74 going to 93 today
still have moderate headache and upset stomach but can deal with it.

Found out there is a very nice rv campground about five miles away here in Greenville, out in country. Bradford Creek Coach & RV Center
If rv does not sell this week, will consider that as an alternative. At issue is cumulative effect of chemo, and
remaining safe to drive, but if only ten minute trip, should be ok. Rv is pretty small, but so is this assisted living space and
I would save a huge amount of money every month doing that. I've lived aboard a boat for three years so small spaces are not
a big issue, particularly if I have a comfortable seat to sit in. I would need to find a spot for this full size pc, working off a laptop was challenging
though many do it. Bigger keyboard and screen really make things better for me. Siblings think rv life is a bad idea, it's just too unusual for them.

iron and compact ironing board came in from Amazon yesterday, going to be domestic today and perhaps wind up less wrinkly...
otherwise a quiet day
