Good morning. 51 now, supposed to get to 56 today. And rain.

Yesterday was an awesome weather day in this part of Ohio. Got to 68. Plenty of sun.

Got a fair amount of seat time. Couple of weeks ago, did the spring driveway maintenance. Yesterday, the parking area near the house and garage got attention. The grading blade and box blade got a work out. Much better now.

Then worked on some of the yard weeds.

My wife moved the 6 baby ducks to the brooder in the barn. Amazing how fast they grow.

Going to make our weekly shopping trip today. Be interesting to see what the shelves look like this week. Not sure what I am going to get into after we get back.

Everyone stay safe out there

if we have so many excess chickens, why are there so few at the Food Lion?

I've been reading about CoVid-19 outbreak coverups at several meat processing companies for the past few weeks, Drew. Those plants were shut down by their respective health departments. Sounds like there's no coverup in this instance, but the end result is the same: no meat being processed. I stocked up on beef last week, and it sounds like a good idea to make some room in the freezer for chicken and pork, too. Or just start eating more lentils, but I'm still waiting on that shipment I ordered several weeks ago.:confused2:

Been raining since last evening. Horse still not back to normal. Now no water or food intake from last night. Was alert and walked up to me this AM. Very frustrating.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 5:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 87F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Temps are headed up for the next few days, almost 20 degrees above normal for this time of year. With no rain in sight, the grasses and wildflowers won't last much longer. That's not such a bad thing from a wildfire standpoint, though.

That polarizing filter works really well, Ron. Is the water warmer near the bottom of the pond because of heat from the ground?

Hard to wring that new shooting bench out when the weather's not cooperating, Buppies.

Very cramped quarters inside those doors yesterday, but both now have the sound deadening installed. Glad that job's done, but now there's the rest of the van to do. But the electric actuators for the door locks are on the list for today.

I mentioned "not being interrupted" yesterday, and it looks like today will be the same. The trucker hauling the new-to-me Kubota M62 TLB was due here Friday, then Saturday, and now who knows? Supposedly the gentleman driving is an older man from West Virginia that doesn't text message, and apparently doesn't even return calls inquiring about an ETA. I'd hoped to have a photo or two to share with you all by now, but this is the best I can come up with, which was in the ad I answered on Machinery Trader almost two weeks ago now. That was the day the old tractor croaked, the straw that broke the camel's back. The one that's hopefully showing up today is a 2016 model with about 120 hours on it, and I'm hoping that even though it's long out of warranty, all it needs is the 100 hour maintenance of new filters and fluids. But hope in one hand and spit in the other, and see which one's got more in it, right? Like Tom Petty sang, the waiting is the hardest part.

I think it was Kyle that first jumped on the M62 bandwagon, but it turns out there are at least three variations of them out there, so he, along with Ted and Wng, got "you're getting warmer" responses to their guesses. Didn't want to be misleading, but didn't want to give away the gag until I had a current picture to share, either. So much for best laid plans. If it ever gets here, this one has both the loader and the backhoe, and from the photos I've seen, that's about it for options besides the rubber pads on the BH stabilizers. My conversations with the sales guy in Oregon earlier this week covered possible upgrades, but I'm waiting until the tractor gets here so I know for sure what I'm working with. I'd like to end up with hydraulics on both ends to power a grapple, the side shift on the flail, and a thumb on the BH. Maybe even top'n'tilt, but not if it turns mounting the BH into a goat rope. I don't even know if there are 3 point arms on this tractor; they're an optional accessory and there's no sign of 'em in the photos.

In the past I've made a lot of noise about not getting another Kubota, but after talking with a few M62 owners, it seemed the best fit for what needs doing here. Durability was my biggest concern, and with almost three times the weight of my current tractor, the M62 is built like a tank. No more issues with broken loader mounts, or the latest bugaboo on the old tractor, cracked rear wheel hubs. We'll see how it goes, right?

Good morning to all! ? For the low temp, somewhere in the low 40s. High today forecasted for the upper 70s. Going to the low 80s next couple of days.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Thomas! Hope you have many more to enjoy the new tractor, thanks for the pics...

CONGRATULATIONS on the new tractor RNG, nice ! I am sure you will be pleased in the increased capabilities.

This morning, going to Costco with my son, (he asked me to take him in the truck). He is going to boost their profits this morning. He is buying a couple of the heavy duty shelving racks, a gas pressure washer, and big toolbox for the new garage.

I have not seen that toolbox there before, but looks really nice. For what it is, the price sure beats HF.

Everyone have a great day!

If those aren't essential supplies, I don't know what is! Can't wait for the video...

He finally finished acid staining the floor and getting the top coat done. He was supposed to be painting the inside this weekend, but found all the accessories in stock yesterday, hence the trip into town today! He said he will paint when we get back.... sure!
I am not sure what his next video will be, maybe the tractor episode....

An overcast 40ºF for today’s low temperature; 44ºF presently which may become today’s high temperature with an occasional raindrop in the air, and I expect a rainy afternoon and dropping temperatures with maybe
some snow mixing in with the rain tonight.. I am happy the rain has held off I was able to accomplish some outdoor stuff and stay dry. I am ready to smoke that lamb later. I saw my first bear of the year this AM beelining to the bird feeders. Brogen saw him too which created a lot of loud drama and drool goobers flying and sticking everywhere. He is still worked up I hope that he does not “code”. He’s already drunk +1 gallon of water this AM; thirsty from all the barking and loss of body fluids.

I have engineers’ gloves like that. I’ve been using them since I worked on a railroad construction crew during the Summer breaks during my college years.

RNG- Nice rig.

Happy Birthday Thomas. I wish you many more in health and happiness.

I hope that everyone is having the Sunday they anticipated.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

I remember walking 36 holes in a day playing golf. Haven’t been golfing yet after GBS, wonder how I would do?

Sad about the women. Old Friends of ours had ( maybe still do?) cabin on Leesville lake. Been down it in his boat. Mid 1990s probably.

Shop is too small, and too much junk in it.

What’s best way to get a tight hydraulic filter off the tractor? Maybe a chain wrench? Couldn’t budge it with filter pliers.

Strap wrench unless shell has collapsed. I've had to chisel them off....Not fun. Chisel from the side, make a v notch on the edge of base plate , then place chisel at an angle to torque it off. Hammer at will.

Happy Birthday Thomas.

63 miles is almost my one way commute Mostly. I'm impressed. Can you do it in 5 hours?

Nice day here. 55F to start, heading to mid 80's.

Prayers. For Farmer too.

RNG, you're going to love that thing I'm guessing. Heavy duty.

Sorry the guy won't return texts. Hope it makes it safe and sound.

51F and overcast but thankfully no rain at the moment. That is the high for today, and temps are predicted to fall from here on out.

Monday looks better: high of 58F and partly cloudy.

Thomas - Happy Birthday !

RNG - nice looking unit ... should serve you well ...

rip - still hoping you will eventually have a recovery to report.

Buckeye - you could always give driving a large screwdriver or similar all the way thru the filter and see if that gives you enough purchase to torque it off. Might not be the way to go though if you're looking to preserve the hydraulic fluid.

Did not make it back down to finish up cleaning the 4th birdhouse last night so that will be on the list for today. Along with treating the pipe flanges which go on the bottom as mounts with phosphoric acid to convert the rust.

... RS, I should have told you that Walmart sells the paint I used. ...
No worries ... and I have to swing by the Home Depot for three ceiling fixtures anyways.

Was the color you used "Oasis Blue" ?

And curious if you used anything to seal the roof ?

The two houses that I built are cedar ... so I expect they will really suck up the paint. The two I bought are different wood though ... appears to be a good bit harder/denser and I don't expect that it will drink it up quite as much as the cedar.

Probably biggest thing at this point will be getting them dry enough to paint.

Hope everyone has a productive and enjoyable day.

That polarizing filter works really well, Ron. Is the water warmer near the bottom of the pond because of heat from the ground?
When water temperature is below 50° gold fish are lethargic. They stay in area where there is little water movement. In this picture they are near rocks and to right of where waterfalls drops into pond.

I am back in from weeding. I must have missed that winds were going to be up to 30mph. Weeds were blowing away before I could get them in bucket.

51° drizzly yucky day. So glad I got some garden planted yesterday.

Thanks for all the filter wrench suggestions. Now I’m wondering if laying on the ground I was trying the wrong direction, I’m not sure now.

Nice M62 RNG. Hope it shows up soon. I first said kioti because of the black bucket and I thought you said no to kubota, but once you revealed enough I knew it had to be the M62, slight differences from the L.
