If your "Engineer's" cap was an OshKosh .. you had a real one!

When I was going to night school at University of Houston, after USAF, an English literature professor (twit) asked us on first night of class, who would be eventually going to the School of Engineering. Several of us raised our hands. He (the twit) proceeded to advise us that we would have to do 'A' work to get a "C" from him. Ok? No problem. I managed to find 7 OshKosh (By Gosh) Engineer's caps, before the next class for me and my fellow "engineers to be" (4 gentlemen / 3 ladies ... all X- military). The other 30+ in our class were .. still in diapers.

The seven of us wore those caps, for every class we had to endure with this twit .. and .. we all got A's and B's. . We .. rose to the challenge. Our younger classmates .. could not.

I was too young to appreciate what I had, but in those days, there was no such thing as a Chinese knock off, so the hat was probably the genuine article.

Had a similar "arrangement" with the head of the metallurgical engineering department, who also happened to teach the series of classes us black sheep welding engineers had to take. He made it quite clear, three times a week at 8AM, that he considered teaching way below his station, and weldors the scum of the earth. The weldors, including his son, banded together in study groups and aced the series, while kids who had decided to major in it, foundered. Funny how Karma has a way of coming back on ya.:mischievous:

Nice shop BEF

Two ladies from Buena Vista last heard from last Saturday found in car submerged in SML. Sad very sad

Don our son plays golf at a coarse called Ballyhack in Roanoke Va 18 holes and walks with his bag lots of steps

I remember walking 36 holes in a day playing golf. Haven’t been golfing yet after GBS, wonder how I would do?

Sad about the women. Old Friends of ours had ( maybe still do?) cabin on Leesville lake. Been down it in his boat. Mid 1990s probably.

Shop is too small, and too much junk in it.

What’s best way to get a tight hydraulic filter off the tractor? Maybe a chain wrench? Couldn’t budge it with filter pliers.

37 right now...high in the low 50's today and 100% probability of rain. There is a Winter Weather Advisory...looks like that's to the north of us...so, northern Vermont might get 2-6 inches of snow (and rain)…sloppy day up north and they're welcome to it!

I got the parts I need for the Zero-Turn's fuel tank vent (I wrote about breaking the tank vent last week) as well as all the filters necessary for the annual routine maintenance. I'd like to get the tank vent replaced, but I'm not going to do the routine maintenance today.

Up way too early for a Sunday...

51 and showers going to 71 and more rain. Thunderstorms woke us up about 2am.

Stayed damp or rainy all day, but got some work done disassembling the trailer with the impact wrench.

Rick and RNG, good stories about your classes. I had a few like that, too.

Don, that's a good hike, and beautiful pic. Enjoy "playing" your last 18 holes. I took a hike yesterday, too, on the "course" I marked off here.

Happy Birthday, Thomas!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 44° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 60° with cloudy skies. Got a lot of weeding done yesterday. Hope to finish today. Then I can start spreading wood chips pile. Got out away from house and helped stay at home neighbors with there projects. Used tractor to grade drive and fixed a faucet that would not come apart. Happy neighbors.
One neighbor went to Lowes yesterday. Place was a madhouse. But everyone was wearing mask and keeping distance.
Played with camera using polarizing filter lens. First picture is without. Second is with. Fish are still staying close to bottom because of water temperature. Water is about 2' deep. Still need to more cleaning.

RS, I should have told you that Walmart sells the paint I used.

Buckeye, I use a pair of 16" Channellocks to get stubren filters loose.

Buppies, sad about the ladies.

Don, one of my summer jobs as a teenager was working as a caddy at local golf course. Walked 18 holes several times a day. Not any more. But I did get 11,000 steps in yesterday in my neighborhood. Sassy is turning into a lets take golf cart for a ride instead of walking.

Rick, good stories. Wish I had still save my 68 vette. Do not even have any pictures of it.

Bird, good to hear you got all your order.

RNG, my day will not be complete until you post the tractor game winner. :dance1:

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.l

AWSubie :welcome: to Good Morning.
