If your "Engineer's" cap was an OshKosh .. you had a real one!
When I was going to night school at University of Houston, after USAF, an English literature professor (twit) asked us on first night of class, who would be eventually going to the School of Engineering. Several of us raised our hands. He (the twit) proceeded to advise us that we would have to do 'A' work to get a "C" from him. Ok? No problem. I managed to find 7 OshKosh (By Gosh) Engineer's caps, before the next class for me and my fellow "engineers to be" (4 gentlemen / 3 ladies ... all X- military). The other 30+ in our class were .. still in diapers.
The seven of us wore those caps, for every class we had to endure with this twit .. and .. we all got A's and B's.. We .. rose to the challenge. Our younger classmates .. could not.

I was too young to appreciate what I had, but in those days, there was no such thing as a Chinese knock off, so the hat was probably the genuine article.
Had a similar "arrangement" with the head of the metallurgical engineering department, who also happened to teach the series of classes us black sheep welding engineers had to take. He made it quite clear, three times a week at 8AM, that he considered teaching way below his station, and weldors the scum of the earth. The weldors, including his son, banded together in study groups and aced the series, while kids who had decided to major in it, foundered. Funny how Karma has a way of coming back on ya.:mischievous:
