Good afternoon! Decent weather day here. Too wet to mow though.

We went gun shopping today. My wife has a new toy.

Roger SP101, 38/357, 4.2 barrel. She liked how this one felt in her hand. The shop had another with a full wood grip she didn稚 care for the feel. Also tried out a GP100 with 3 barrel that was a close 2nd to this one. May go get that one for myself. I liked it. This one feels pretty good to me too. Balances nice.

Very nice!!
I've have an SP101, like your wife's, a .38/.357, but have the 3" barrel. Enough heft to soak up the recoil of the .38's
I hope she enjoys her's as much as I do mine!

"Nice shot of the planets, Phil, and the snow movie worked fine, too. What kind of camera is it that has such a long exposure setting for the planets?"
Believe it or not that is a straight normal shot with my Iphone X. I did zoom in a bit digitally before snapping the pic. All the planets were lined up by God for the shot. Only happens once in a while.

30 here going to a partly cloudy 55. Hopefully will melt all the snow so I don't have to clean any up. At least the upcoming week will be above freezing!

I went out this morning before light to look at those planets. Thanks, again, for bringing it to my attention.

39F cloudy mid 20's for low tonight.

Took long walk about woods mostly looking for antler shed no luck but good stroll.
As I walk towards the shed Tom turkey confronted me didn't back down while his girl friend fed.

Chivalry is not dead!

31 right now...high in the upper 50's. Maybe some drizzle or showers.

If the rain holds off, I've got and area of leaves I'd like to rake and lay barrier cloth (then mulch). We'll see how that goes...

Good morning, the temp is 39°F and that is the high for the day. Wind W 11 mph. Periods of snow or rain.

I am not sure if I am going to get after the lean-to that needs to come down.

Have a safe and healthy day all

Good morning. 34 now and sunny, supposed to get near 56 later today. Going to be an outside day.

Roy, we tried out the new toy last evening. She likes it. I do to. She normally shoots a revolver better than I do, but I was shooting slightly better groups than she was. It shoots my hand loads exceptionally well.

Probably need to mow today. Places are looking like they need some attention.

Everyone stay safe out there

Coffee is brewing. 40° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58° with AM rain and clearing in afternoon. Got chipper on tractor and chipped for about and hour. Have not had it on tractor for almost 2 years. One of the projects I have on my list for years is lowering the legs about 2". Started that project. Should have taken about 1/2 hour. But my 40+ year old cut off bandsaw decided to stop working. Got it repaired with a new drive pin. Still need to clean it up and make a new gasket. Cut last 2 chipper legs on bandsaw. That job is completed. Hope to get some more chipping done later today.
Hope this is last of the white I have to see until next winter. Taken Friday afternoon.

LS, landscape project looks good.

Frank, nice load of chips.

Buckeye, your stew looks good. I still have some from my last pot in freezer.

Rich, nice revolver.

Eric, did you count your sheep?

Kyle, hope your daughter is getting over bite. Going to be hard not to buy China for awhile. But I think you are going to see it happen in a lot of products.

David, good view while cutting field.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

32 with heavy frost and ice in the bird baths. Should see a nice 67.

Hawkeye, I have a lot of fun memories of spending hours on the trampoline with my sons. We still talk about it. On nights when the temps would go below freezing, we'd spray water on it with the hose, and come back a few minutes later to jump...all the ice would become little pellets from the fabric holding the water, and bounce up into the air with us.

Thomas, nice gobbler! I like watching them better than hunting them.

Kyle, hope your daughter is okay this morning. You may have discovered competition for the Texas oil boom as fast as photinia can grow. We're definitely trying to "buy American" (and from some other friendly countries).

Nice gun, Rich. Is ammo still in short supply up your way?

LS, landscaping is beautiful!

Randy, I bet driving a zero turn at 8 years old feels like a race car.

RNG, what a sunset! Not sure about the blacked-out tractor photo, though.

Two nights in a row with no bears, only raccoons. Bringing in the bird feeders is hopefully working.

Ruger makes great revolvers...I have 4...one double action (the SP101) and 3 single actions. If you want an outstanding plinker, try a Bearcat Shopkeeper (.22LR). That's the smaller revolver in the pictures.
The larger revolver is a Vaquero (.357/.38).
Both nice guns...the Bearcat is more fun to shoot

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 73F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Mr. Tom looks very proud of himself in that photo, Thomas. How close was his girlfriend?

I can't think of a better, or more appropriate, way to spend that incentive check than a new revolver, Rich. Other than maybe buying that three incher for yourself...

When I was eight years old, my job was to push a mower around the yard. That kid's got it made!

Gonna have fish in those ponds, Ted?

That's a great photo for a phone camera, Phil! They've come a long way since my old SE was made. And now there's a new, slightly larger SE...

Got a chance to catch up with a few things that the solar panel work was putting off yesterday. I did get the tarps put away from the generator pad, and man, that thing's rougher than a cob. It'll work just fine, but I don't think I'll do anything like that again. Got a few things put away in the garage, too, but spent most of the afternoon lacing a steering wheel cover on for the van. Having the steering wheel off helped a lot, as did putting the first cover in the dryer for a while to warm it enough to stretch. It was one of those cheap vinyl ones with all the holes in it, but it wouldn't stretch far enough for the two sides to meet and completely cover the wheel. But I had another one, made from leather, so I decided to put that one over the vinyl one. And that was a job and a half, with a stitch every 3/8" or so, and having to pull each one ever so tight. Had to wear gloves, and take several breaks, but it came out really nice. Finished up the day burning all the scrap moldings in the campfire ring, nice to have it gone.

I also dug out a gopro camera and had a go at making a time lapse of the sunset, but forgot about it. It's still out there, so maybe I'll get a sunrise, too?

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!:cool2:

Those days'll be gone before you know it, Phil.

I had something like six weeks of vacation when I retired, so I took them at the end, pushing out the "official" retirement date and getting away a little earlier.:dance1:

Good morning to all! Low of 36, going for a high of 65.

Winds got a bit breezy yesterday, but I was determined to get that decorative fencing done. To answer a couple questions :

Kyle, it will be watered by drip irrigation at each plant, the source being the rural water coop. Relatively inexpensive, $.07 per 1,000 gal. We do have a well on the property that I can use for irrigation, but it is a very low producer, I do not have it in service / usable at this time. If we had wait for rain, nothing would grow.

RNG, nope no fish in the pond. Too much work / hassle to maintain. Plus, I think it would be setting up a buffet for the local wildlife (hawks, raccoons, etc..)

It will be more of just hearing the tricking / splashing of the waterfall.... a man made replica of the babbling brook we always wanted to live near / have on the property, but could never achieve....
So, we make our own little oasis in the desert.

Sore this morning, used some muscles that were not used for a while apparently... going to take an easier pace today.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday!

Got to 28 early but warming rapidly toward mid 60s today.
Got more flowers to plant and hope the freezes are over, that’s 3 in the last 4 days.
My apple tree is doing well so far.

We got fortunate this year, the apple and cherry tree did not open their buds before we got the recent snow / freezes. Hopefully they will still flower.
