Roy, we tried out the new toy last evening. She likes it. I do to. She normally shoots a revolver better than I do, but I was shooting slightly better groups than she was. It shoots my hand loads exceptionally well.

Ruger makes great revolvers...I have 4...one double action (the SP101) and 3 single actions. If you want an outstanding plinker, try a Bearcat Shopkeeper (.22LR). That's the smaller revolver in the pictures.
The larger revolver is a Vaquero (.357/.38).
Both nice guns...the Bearcat is more fun to shoot

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 73F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.

Mr. Tom looks very proud of himself in that photo, Thomas. How close was his girlfriend?

I can't think of a better, or more appropriate, way to spend that incentive check than a new revolver, Rich. Other than maybe buying that three incher for yourself...

When I was eight years old, my job was to push a mower around the yard. That kid's got it made!

Gonna have fish in those ponds, Ted?

That's a great photo for a phone camera, Phil! They've come a long way since my old SE was made. And now there's a new, slightly larger SE...

Got a chance to catch up with a few things that the solar panel work was putting off yesterday. I did get the tarps put away from the generator pad, and man, that thing's rougher than a cob. It'll work just fine, but I don't think I'll do anything like that again. Got a few things put away in the garage, too, but spent most of the afternoon lacing a steering wheel cover on for the van. Having the steering wheel off helped a lot, as did putting the first cover in the dryer for a while to warm it enough to stretch. It was one of those cheap vinyl ones with all the holes in it, but it wouldn't stretch far enough for the two sides to meet and completely cover the wheel. But I had another one, made from leather, so I decided to put that one over the vinyl one. And that was a job and a half, with a stitch every 3/8" or so, and having to pull each one ever so tight. Had to wear gloves, and take several breaks, but it came out really nice. Finished up the day burning all the scrap moldings in the campfire ring, nice to have it gone.

I also dug out a gopro camera and had a go at making a time lapse of the sunset, but forgot about it. It's still out there, so maybe I'll get a sunrise, too?

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!:cool2:

Those days'll be gone before you know it, Phil.

I had something like six weeks of vacation when I retired, so I took them at the end, pushing out the "official" retirement date and getting away a little earlier.:dance1:

Good morning to all! Low of 36, going for a high of 65.

Winds got a bit breezy yesterday, but I was determined to get that decorative fencing done. To answer a couple questions :

Kyle, it will be watered by drip irrigation at each plant, the source being the rural water coop. Relatively inexpensive, $.07 per 1,000 gal. We do have a well on the property that I can use for irrigation, but it is a very low producer, I do not have it in service / usable at this time. If we had wait for rain, nothing would grow.

RNG, nope no fish in the pond. Too much work / hassle to maintain. Plus, I think it would be setting up a buffet for the local wildlife (hawks, raccoons, etc..)

It will be more of just hearing the tricking / splashing of the waterfall.... a man made replica of the babbling brook we always wanted to live near / have on the property, but could never achieve....
So, we make our own little oasis in the desert.

Sore this morning, used some muscles that were not used for a while apparently... going to take an easier pace today.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday!

Got to 28 early but warming rapidly toward mid 60s today.
Got more flowers to plant and hope the freezes are over, that’s 3 in the last 4 days.
My apple tree is doing well so far.

We got fortunate this year, the apple and cherry tree did not open their buds before we got the recent snow / freezes. Hopefully they will still flower.
