Verizon Wireless sent me an email saying they were raising my 10 gig wireless plan to 15, no charge during virus period
going to watch it and make sure they don't keep that higher limit at extra charge months from now.
I think they also said something about no disconnects.
Since so many people are at home, sounds like a lot of movie streaming or hours on the internet are creating problems, so the 15 gig limit
should keep the show rolling. My regular internet is by cable and no cap on volume. Verizon is my mobile hot spot, which interestingly Verizon said they
were now activating on every compatible phone at no additional cost.

Lot of crooked people will take adventure of these offers but also many at financial wit's end will surely appreciate it.

I got the same notice from Verizon, whats humorous to me is that i am on an unlimited plan, so more data with no charge on an already unlimited plan has me scratching my head as to how much that is.

I was using my pole saw yesterday also. It started making all kinds of noise. Then chain stopped turning. Took it back to shop. Disassembled whole front end. Found that bolts that hold motor to a bracket had come out. Put them back in and assembled. Ran like a charm again. You may want to take a few screws out and check the bolts in yours. Easy to put back together.

Ron, when I took mine apart and determined the problem, I ran it w/o the sprocket and it was smooth and quiet with no play in the shaft. Thanks for the advice and I will check the motor bolts. Is yours a Lynxx 40 volt too?

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 6:48AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High near 55F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

You folks have been busy!

Finally some good CovVid-19 news, Ted.

11 confirmed cases in the county here, but there's a HUGE backlog of tests, and a couple dozen in confinement that are suspected of having it. Day 15 of self imposed seclusion for me. Hard to call it confinement because I'm doing pretty much what I'd be doing anyway.

Got another section of the generator pad poured yesterday, but ran into a snag moving the side of the form through which the rebar passes. That board was on the wrong side of the electrical conduit you see sticking up in the picher, and I didn't catch it until yesterday morning. Ended up digging down into the gravel so I could cut the conduit off below the board, then gluing it all back together after I moved the board out. Other than that, the pour went better than last time, though I'm still having trouble controlling the consistency of the concrete. Sometimes it's a little wet, sometimes too dry, depending on how closely I pay attention when I'm using the hose. Or how much concrete I put in the mixer; I think I put three bags in one batch yesterday, when I normally put in two. Yeah, toward the end I was getting pretty tired. Also waited too long before I got to the steel trowel at the start of the pour, so it's a little rough, but it's a generator shed, not a living room, so it'll be fine. I can tell I'll have to do some touch up at the joint between the two slabs, but I've already got the patch material and it'll be fine. too. Two more pours and it'll be done, but the concrete'll get a few days of curing with Mother Nature providing the water. And I could use a couple days to recover, and watch some YouTubes on finishing concrete.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

Good morning to all! Low of 30 last night, a few sprinkles, then a few snow flakes... really? Forecast has us going up to 63 today with some breezes. They say sunny, but right now total cloud cover..... I guess we will see....

Quote- - - Kyle - - - “ My wifey is not much of a green thumb, but I have instilled a little bit of it in my daughter. Pines looks good, I'm guessing you'll keep them in the pots? They will grow to big to be planted there??? Maybe they'll grow tall and straight like pine trees do? “

First off, the wifey corrected me... the pines will be in their 5th season, not 4th. They will stay in those containers for at least another year, probably 2. Then they will get planted in the ground. We have found growing them in containers drastically improves their survival “ in the wild “. If I can remember, I will take pics of the ones that were planted in the ground 3 years ago, and the ones 2 years ago.

We tried planting a seedling bed of 50 - 12 inch tall ones about 5 years ago... the critters broke in to the area and ate / chewed every single one down to ground level, something dug up about half of the roots. That was when we started to do the containers. I have watched rabbits chew the bark off of 2-3 ft tall trees when the snow has been bad, naturally killing the tree.

They do grow relatively upright / straight, but they are not the Lodge Pole pines that are really straight up. These are Afghan Pines, primarily used for windbreaks.

Sorry to get so long winded..... the high desert has many challenges, especially when it comes to growing things....

RNG, nice job on the concrete! My hat is off to you sir! ... mixing all that concrete by bag is way more than I would attempt. A small pad maybe....
At least you had a simple fix to the pipe blocking the form board! I am usually not that lucky when I do not think things through enough!
Just keep thinking... halfway done... halfway done....

49-52 today, showers right now.

My cardiologist called late yesterday. I’m going in and out of A-fib, had a bad spell this morning, feel better now. My pulse went from 144 down to 63, the up and down is rough. Got some meds to level it out, hope it works.

You guys have been busy! Hope all your projects come together.

Happy anniversary BEF and wife.
Stay safe folks. Prayers.

Today should involve doing more landscape beds, but, Mr knee is really complaining this morning. I really made sure I did not overdo it yesterday, being especially careful not to do anything to aggravate it, but apparently that was not the case..... I have to keep it moving, being immobile makes it worse too. There is a very small range of activities that keeps it functional.... staying in that range is the hard part!

Randy, take care... hope the meds work! A-fib is not something to take lightly, as you are well aware...

Everyone have a great weekend!

Thanks, Ted. You and your son are my inspiration...

My first inclination was to cut the board, but that would mean making a new board, as there were 12 holes in it and it would have to be cut at each hole to get it off.

Then I though about cutting the rebar, but there wouldn't have been enough length sticking out of the first slab to tie to.

So that left the plastic conduit, and the battery powered saber saw makes it real easy to cut. Digging that compacted road base gravel out, though, was another matter. Almost had to go get the digging bar, it was so hard.

I have a neighbor that has a really big mixer, same guy that ran the 'dozer over this place way back when. I helped him pour a foundation for a shed a few years ago, and he used bulk gravel and sand with bags of cement. Had I to do this again, I'd go with that approach, too, as I think it gives better control over the end product, and it's less expensive.

I've been eyeing a PTO powered mixer that rides on the TPH, with a 12 cubic foot barrel. It uses a hydraulic cylinder to raise the barrel, and you can drive around with the tractor to get in position to pour directly into the forms. Right now I have to dump into a wheelbarrow because the wheels on the mixer won't let the barrel get close enough to dump directly. And my mixer will only hold about a cubic foot of concrete.

Not too coincidentally, the strips I'm pouring are 13' long, about the same width as a driveway. I have about 1000' of gravel driveway, and if I do one 4' wide pour a day, it would only take me 250 days to finish...:laughing:

An overcast drizzly 39ºF for today’s low temperature; 41ºF presently and the sun is trying to make an ocasssional appearance; and I am expecting a mostly cloudy afternoon in the low 50ºF’s. Dump run accomplished. The transfer station personnel were all wearing handkerchiefs as masks as now recommended. Brogen- is “off” today:(

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs BEF. I wish you many more in health and happiness.

David- Great job as usual.:D

Ted- I like your landscaping and thanks for sharing the + news about your Daughter.

Eric- I am sorry to read about the spilled oil and glad that your Wife pr you got cut during the cleanup.

Billy- Thanks for sharing the game cam pics.

Rick- Thanks for sharing the video; nice flight and great accompanying music.

Bird- Thanks, but no thanks on that video. I saw 2 seconds worth of a similar video (maybe the same video) a week ago- my physical response was like getting sucker punched in the gut and I had flashbacks to a very unpleasant time in my life. It’s a little too close.
“… And presumably, the inmates weren't in charge of the asylum. ”- RNG In a strange way they were. Actually the attendants were the real movers and shakers  on the wards. “… Hard to call it confinement because I'm doing pretty much what I'd be doing anyway.” Not much as changed for us either (except going out to eat).

Don- Thanks for sharing the cholesterol information and Whipper pics.

Randy- Take care and I hope you are able to get the correct mix of meds to address your afib soon.

I hope everyone is having a decent day and we all manage to avoid C-19.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
