Good morning!!!!

Good evening. Been a dreary day with drizzle and near constant 43 all day.

Everyone that can work from home has been banished to home. And no travel, even though I had to travel today to Cleveland area. Funny how that works. Spent a lot of the day trying to work with IT to get the VOIP phone to work. Why does dealing with IT have to be this painful. Still didn稚 work when I got home. More changes and several hours later, it works.

I am making Guinness stew for supper and drank a Guinness. Not my favorite stout by far. But it is St. Patrick痴 Day. And to keep my Scottish ancestors happy, I drank a toast to Clan Cochrane.

Happy St. Patrick痴 Day everyone. Keep smiling, it will get better

Boiling potatoes in a baking soda water will result in crispy potatoes when roasted.
BUT, did you know that if they are purple potatoes they turn green?

My corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots will be ready to eat in another 20 minutes

Placed an order at TheNutStop this morning for green lentils and flax meal, Don. Not sure when it'll get here, though, with everything else that's going down the tubes. That's OK, though, I think small changes in diet over time are much more likely to last than trying to switch over everything all at once.

RNG your link is not working. Just got back from 5 stores to get every thing on our grocery list except TP and Green Lentils and 4 other items. Every store was out of onions and TP and sanitizer and all legumes. Shelves were bare, but our grocery list is different than most. No lines in the afternoon only in the morning when people go for the restocked items.

Our one and only, so far, covid-19 confirmed death today in Texas was a male in his late nineties. All restaurants and bars now closed in Austin and Houston.

Had boneless chops with diced tomatoes with chilies, carrots, chili powder, cumin, garlic, onions and black pepper, and a side of fiesta corn. Not very Irish, but very good.

Kyle, I recall touring a large outdoor tank and artillery museum a few years ago when we visited the oldest stepson while he was stationed at Ft. Hood. It was on the base, and very impressive.

Yes, that was my original destination, but chose Austin because of the better places to eat. Will plan another trip, when the bases open back up to the public. Thanks! I believe Ft. Hood has 2 different displays of armored vehicles.

Anyone else enjoy a bit of R.E.M ? It's the end of the ... :D

Hope everyone stays feeling fine.

Love REM. Seen them 3 or 4 times live. end of the world not in my favorites play list though. Singer got too political for me.....Just sing and be happy about the money you're making...

I hope all the people that cleaned out the dry bean sections have an Instant Pot.

Wifey and I got a good laugh on that one... :)

Ted- Not two of my better decisions on footwear yesterday and today. I did a body self check while down; I was lucky that I did not break anything. I will not go stupid like this again.

There are a couple of downed trees and soon to be downed trees in the picture. I could easily push over a couple physically. A lot of the trees here are doing poorly between two years of excessive rain, some serious wind/ice storms, and invasive insects and diseases. Lots of hung up widow makers.

I'm glad you're OK, bet you'll be sore. I was about to tell you how you had me laughing about asking the wife for a new toy and the drama that ensued....I have endured that too.

I posted this on the coronavirus #4 Interesting about the Italy deaths, only two have died just because of the virus.
Italy's Department of Civil Protection: Only two confirmed deaths because of COVID-19 - Naked Food Magazine

I'll bet the other 2500 deceased persons' families in Italy (who died an early death) are thrilled with this info, or maybe not... So this article's perspective seems like a reason for a bunch of people with no over riding health issues to jump up and down because they are healthy and don't have a thing to worry about when it comes to Covid-19? Maybe the state run single payer health system in Italy is jumping up and down too, not having to pay out for 2500 elderly anymore. While I find the info somewhat useful, I also consider it distasteful from this perspective. I would prefer to read it from a medical journal. It will definitely serve to have the elderly endure even more anxiety. At least those that want to live. My mom is 90, and has over riding health issues. I pray she doesn't get it.

My wife came in from the garden mad, and said, "I'm ready to pull up the kale. There are even more bugs on it now besides the aphids.", and showed me a picture. We looked it up and they are lady bug larvae. Lady bugs to the rescue! The larvae eat the aphids. My wife is happy now.

Potato plants are almost a foot tall. Need to cover them up with some sand.

Prayers for all who need them.

Randy, you don't need to be getting sick again. I would take it easy.

My job has government rules about how our projects are billed with direct labor. They won't let us work from home if we have any indirect labor. Which is me right now, not real busy at the moment. But a big project on the horizon.

Good evening all. 55F for the start, trace of rain in the gauge, overcast and fog, light wind Low temp came at 10AM, 53F, Fog and drizzle persisted all day again. Eric looks like you and I have traded weather for a few days. Flash flood in forecast for tonight, but with the rain holding off may not happen. Still more days with rain than not, wonder when this pattern will break. Cleaning lady prep this morning, then wife called her off. Bike work this morning, moved rack bag to trek, pedals, swapped wheels with wife's Trek, adjusted brakes, and bicycle computer. Went for ride, no major issues, chain needs clean and lube. Cut ride to 10 miles due to getting wet on first lap. Took Volagi in for tune up and get read for Easter Hill Country Tour, that may not happen. Austin bike club putting it on this year, and they said decision coming Mar 31st. Wife has put off the bolt extraction till virus slows down.
Missed my nap and have no focus, catch up tomorrow.
prayers for all.
Stay well.

I'd be very surprised if MS 150 goes off, on schedule, first weekend in May but, did notice the route has changed.

Riders will depart both Houston and Austin and meeting / overnighting in La Grange, then finishing at Kyle Field on Day 2.

It's from the Department of Civil Proteccion officials in Italy, they get their info from ??.
My mom is 89 and has health issues also, let's just hope we don't spread it to them if we get it but before we have symptoms. I have heard 3 days after you are exposed symptoms appear. I was carrying a little 2oz bottle of 90% alcohol in my truck door and sprayed my hands after each store today. saw no mask and heard no coughs.

How are the grocery stores in Giddings holding up?

Thanks RNG, got it, also still searching amazon for free shipping, the nutstop has delayed shipping

Did Italy Confirm Almost 200 Coronavirus Deaths in 24 Hours?

I really enjoyed being busy at work today and not having time to be bombarded with all the CV news.

26 right now...high of 45 today...

So far, Vermont has only 15-19 (depends on where one reads the news) of the coronavirus. The schools, restaurants and bars are pretty much shut down...no groups more then 50 people (not sure what good that will do). This is going to be ruinous to small businesses which are already struggling. The good point is the state legislature is off too...at least they can't make things worse...

good morning all.
Headlines each morning seem to be getting worse.
World economic impact going to be huge. Impact on elderly very worrisome.

Foggy morning, going up to 70 today. Cameraman with drone coming today, should be interesting.

stay healthy out there.
