44 and a few sprinkles coming down when I went outside earlier...going to 68.

Happy St Patrick's Day. I guess there won't be a lot of bar and restaurant celebrations tonight.

Max deserves a treat.

Eric, definitely End of World mentality in many ways. Ammo is another item that disappeared off shelves like TP. I heard locally that after all the 9mm and 5.56 sold out, people were buying guns like 45s just because they could still find ammo for them.

Cut down my biggest remaining dead oak. I must be losing my touch...it fell 180 degrees from where I wanted to coax it to go... But I noticed a slight lean early in the sawing and adjusted my notch. Turned out it was smarter than me, since it fell uphill, and I could roll the rounds down the slight hill...many of which I struggled to get into my carry all box. Brought one load out and split and stacked it. Got one more load plus some smaller branches to bring out.

I'm with riptides: hope all are well.

Stop making me jealous. Sounds like you got your stash for next year already lined up and in the works. Good for you.

My oaks are still standing, have a few unidentified trees in the back that came down. I doubt I will get to them anytime soon. Wife has other ideas. LOL.

Up to yesterday, the attempts to contain coronavirus were said to be causing the biggest disruption to society in the UK since WW2. Now people of all ages have been told not to go to the pub, something that even ****** didn't achieve.

Anyone else enjoy a bit of R.E.M ? It's the end of the ... :D

My wife has been singing that for a week.
Drew, Doc is right about veggie burgers, I have to make my own. But at least you are not contributing to the next world virus pandemic. Have you noticed, they all seem to start from animals?

Brother is singing the blues in Dallas - all "pubs" and restaurants closed. He did manage to get a baked potato at a drive through widow at Wendy's.

I hope all the people that cleaned out the dry bean sections have an Instant Pot.

Garden and trail work yesterday and today and for the next month. Texas covid-19 count 57 (no deaths) so 57/0, maybe since this is more important than weather (for a while we ought to give a state and county count with the morning weather.

Good Morning! Texas 57/0. My county 0/0. 67˚F cloudy chance of rain. Trail and garden work to keep the food chain flowing.

Good morning All. First cuppa coffee about to be poured about an inch of snow last night, and it is still snowing here lightly.

Only 4 deaths from Covid-19 so far here in Canada, but three of them were from one seniors residence in British Columbia. The numbers are ramping up of people infected, however. Up to a little over 400 so far.

One pleasant thought in all this chaos. With all the extreme precautions people are taking with sanitizing and social distancing and all that, the regular flu numbers are going to be way down, as will be the deaths. Little comfort I know, but it is something!

Headed up north here last night with the daughter, in order to escape the crowds in the city. No problem distancing here, since the next nearest cottage is about 100 feet away!

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 6:15AM. Cloudy with showers. High 52F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
It's raining right now, so I'd say the chance of rain is really closer to 100%. and the CoVid count in my county is 0/0 so far.

But all the schools in the county and all Chico city offices are closed to the public, and who knows what else. A seven county shelter in place was announced for the San Francisco Bay Area yesterday covering my old stomping grounds; sure am glad I escaped that madhouse. People are supposed to stay home from work, even if they can't telecommute. I wonder how people are supposed to feed themselves if there's no one working in the grocery stores, or driving the trucks that move the food. More events cancelled every day, including this year's edition of the 4WD Vanagon campout and the Isle of Mann TT races.

I wonder if there will be a population bubble in nine months due to all the CoVid-19 closures, and if they'll call 'em Corona Babies?

Heard from my neighbor that drives a truck for Walmart yesterday. Said a lady asked him if he had any TP in the back, and all he had was a load of bicycles. He's as amazed as anyone
at how empty the stores are that he's delivering to. A traveling salesman friend was trying to get up and over the I5 Grapevine pass yesterday and was turned back due to snow, pretty unusual for this time of year for that area.

I was able to get quart freezer bags at Costco yesterday, but still missed oats, toilet bowl cleaner, and TP. Didn't even try the grocery store; there's already plenty in the fridge. Snagged a ton of concrete at HD, but they had no salt for the water softener. Looks like there might be a break in the rain by late afternoon for unloading. Truck sure rides nice with all that weight in it.

Forgot that the end of the world song was by REM, thought it was The Tubes. :confused2: I've been hearing those lyrics in my head for a few days now.

Got a good start on income taxes yesterday, and should finish today. First I need to bag up and freeze the batch of chili I made day before yesterday, and get a batch of green chili started in the IP. Still no lentils, so it'll be with leftover Costco rotisserie chicken, and I'll be draining and rinsing the chili, which was packed in a saltwater/vinegar brine. When I do find lentils, the first dish will be spaghetti and meat, er, lentil, balls, using this recipe for the balls.

42°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 53° today. 105 Covid-19 cases in Illinois so far, and 0 deaths. I read yesterday that there is one case in Clinton County pending confirmation.

Wife decided yesterday to suspend her dog training schedule for a couple weeks. She said of all the clients she notified, only one was not in favor of the idea. You'd think they wouldn't want someone coming into their home after going in and out of 16 other homes in a week. I guess there always has to be one in every crowd.

A friend of mine in South Lake Tahoe posted a video on Facebook yesterday of him and his wife cleaning off the cars and the driveway. They have between four and five feet of snow on the ground there.
