I will be cooking our corned beef in our pressure cooker tonight. I cook the cabbage, potatoes, and carrots separately. I throw some extra pickling spice and allspice berries in the pressure cooker for ambiance  I too look forward to dinner tonight...... actually every night :embarrassed:

Bill- That dessert looks to be great eats.

We are waiting for the Sears repairperson to repair our dishwasher. We have the parts that were ordered with visit #1.

Pretty sunny day around 60. Feels strange though, like right after 9/11.
Looks like MD is 58/0 at this time. Almost all west of the Bay. One case on this side at last count.

Looks like 10/0 for the state and 0/0 for our island. Living on an island can have its benefits.

Hopefully the masses will have their stockpiles all set and the stores will get a chance to restock.

That day is not today. A line of about 100 people to get in the store. I did not get in line. The next store parking lot full. I'll try a different store tomorrow.
I posted this on the coronavirus #4 Interesting about the Italy deaths, only two have died just because of the virus.

Looks like Michigan and Texas are running about the same. Afternoon (3-17-22) we are 64/1

As the US slows way down in hustle and bustle, many of the stores are still getting hit hard.. one of my stocks is being targeted by hostile takeover (board rejected offer, now they are going after shareholders), so interesting that their offer is 25%+ the stock price today. Not sure what all this means, I don't really want them to take over.. and I don't want the capital gains this year.

Wife had her dr appt for sinus infection cancelled, what is she supposed to do? If not treated, she ends up in urgent care or ER. I think she got them to at least have a consulting nurse call her, perhaps she can have a phone appt and get antibiotics (she has these once or twice per year), wife waits until it is bad enough they will prescribe meds, but in this case, they pushed it out and now want to cancel.. They've also closed most of their clinics and the remaining one open is handling the corona virus cases.. so she does not want to go there.. We'll figure it out, but it is challenging.

While grand daughter was playing outside, I took some time and moved some pallets while I had the forks on, left the forks on the stack of pallets, dragged the bucket out of the back of bay in shop, put it on and smoothed a bump at end of driveway that has been bugging me for 10 years.. Trying to do something constructive in all this chaos.

Daughter is sensitive to fragrances and they have rules at work about cleaning products and fragrances, but someone decided to stink the place up, so she is on her way home with breathing problems (not related to virus, but her supervisor won't even let her move to another area to continue to work, if you have any breathing problems, you have to go home). This is not the first time this has happened, but with the constant turnover of supervisors, she has to explain it to the new person each time.. They won't let them work at home unless they have a landline (which we took out since it was unusable). I certainly don't understand it, I have worked from home for 15+ years.. There are certainly occasional hiccups with the internet, but usually short lived. Internet is a bit slow right now, but that is expected with all the schools and many businesses closed..

Wife is cooking our corned beef in the slow cooker, later adding the cabbage, potatoes, and carrots. A meal I'm definitely looking forward to eating.

We don't have that meal very often and I'm not sure why, because we both like it very much.

RNG I printed out the recipe for the lentil meatballs and will make them when the green lentils come back in stock, or when any lentils come back.

Contemplating a Costco run this week with hopes of 1 bundle TP and paper towels, but hope not disappointed. Think next week might be better but wife wants this week as she needs laundry stuff.

Not interested in getting an over supply or hoarding and we do have items that could be repurposed in emergency.

I did ask wife, wonder how long it would take a tush to adapt to non heated bidet?

Was her answer, "Never"

...and maybe one hand on a person in Texas, and another on one in Canada!

Maybe some Newfoundland Screech?

I was “Screeched In” and became an honorary “Newfie” in 1973 ... in St. John’s.

L4N probably knows about this.

Well took our first trip off the property since the panic-demic started. Needed to refill my diesel and gas cans so I can get some mowing and bushhogging done...plus I got word that my local hunting store had just gotten what might be their last ammo restocking in.

Was surprised how busy the roads were and gas stations. The hunting store had set up a queuing system to keep people reasonably apart and hand sanitizer placed around. Fast food drive-through lines looked pretty long. Decided to pick up some things at Home Depot, since we were right there. First time I've ever seen the whole line of sinks in the men's room in use with guys washing their hands. People in check out lines keeping their social distances.

Since we were out, decided to pick up some produce and items at the Food Lion grocer on the way home. Totally out of TP, paper towels, sanitizer, and only 5 boxes of Kleenex. They had extra disinfectant towels everywhere to wipes carts or anything else. The only mask I saw worn was when driving into the grocery store parking lot...a lady was coming out of the Starbucks drive-through wearing one.

We've had 2 COVID deaths in Virginia, and 1 non-fatal case in our county: a student who returned from an exchange program in Italy. We've had 782 Virginia deaths from flu so far this season.

Previous posts brought up another "floated" topic that I had repressed - the bidet. That flew as well as the used camera and modern drone floaters.

Massachusetts cases reported today:

197 confirmed and presumptive cases
0 deaths
445 under quarantine
638 completed quarantine

I really have no complaints about the way MA State and Local governments and school departments are dealing. As to the hysterical hoarders and gouging maggots :censored:

We do, too, Bird. When The Wife buys corned beef brisket, she usually buys two of them. We'll freeze one and have it later. For some reason, they are just not readily available around here all year long.

Placed an order at TheNutStop this morning for green lentils and flax meal, Don. Not sure when it'll get here, though, with everything else that's going down the tubes. That's OK, though, I think small changes in diet over time are much more likely to last than trying to switch over everything all at once.

I took my first trip into Maryland in a while. Had to do some checks on stuff. Frigging traffic sucked.

On the way home I made yes, a beer run. And I scored two cases of Pilsner. That should last a few days with all this stress and drama. :)

I managed to stock up on some longer term essentials. Yeast, flour, potato chips, cookies. LOL.

The TP and cleaning supplies were wiped out. The employees, quite a few were wearing gloves and masks. The fish guy said "what you see is what we have" and does not know when another stock is coming in. That was disconcerting.

Anyway, hope all had a good day.

Dinner will be a green meal here, too. New Mexico green chili made with Costco rotisserie chicken.:D Only problem is when I rinsed the vinegar/brine solution, I also lost most of the flavor. I'm hoping a heaping teaspoon of chipotle powder will make up for it, but I'm not optimistic. As a concession to the Irish, I'll boil up some potatoes long enough to remove the skins, then throw them in with the chili for an hour or so to finish. :licking:

Hope everyone else enjoys a delicious meal this evening!
