Good morning to all! Low of 38, going up to 64. Mostly cloudy today, chance of a few sprinkles late tonight.

Rip, nice to hear from you again! Glad your wifey is doing better. Congratulations on the new tractor! We are awaiting pictures!:drink:

Drew, hope they find out what is causing your issues.... strange how you start to feel better, then back to the SxS again without warning.

RNG, hope the compaction action works well. No matter how well I think I have repacked a trench, it always seems to get low in some spots, high in others. Maybe I learned a new technique

Roy, good luck with the job front. Did they specify when they will let everyone know what is going to happen?

WNG, have fun getting the tree down, but be careful! Oak around here is almost impossible to find anymore.

David, good idea on the extra braces and good job installing them.

Pre-op At primary Drs visit went well, all blood work good, EKG good, X-ray good. Next up: final pre-op consult with the surgeon tomorrow.

A neighbor is getting a shed delivered today, called me last night and asked if I could come over with the tractor to pull a few fence posts and do a quick grade of the area. Heading over there in about a half hour. So gotta get my 2 cups of coffee in before I go over.....

Everyone have a great day!

Summer's coming. We just leave the house thermostat on the temperature same setting all the time; just change from heating to cooling or vice versa as needed. Last night, I went to bed, but it felt too hot, so I almost immediately got up, checked the thermostat and sure enough found it 3 degrees too warm. So I changed from heating to cooling and napped awhile in my super duper recliner, before going back to bed. And I left it set on cooling; probably will until Fall. This morning, it was 63 degrees outside, going for a high of 82. And now that little live oak tree in the front yard is dropping lots of leaves, as well as acorns, and catkins. So I just mowed with the bagger, even though the grass didn't need cutting. I filled 2 big contractor bags with a tiny big of grass, lots of leaves, and some acorns.

Sears technician due today, and I expect him to have to order parts for our refrigerator ice maker and come back in another week or so to install the parts.

The company ( a well known Aerospace supplier) was bought out during a hostile takeover a few years ago.
The management has tried a few different reorganizations...we're in the midst of the third. I'm not sure if Management knows what to do or the direction to go.
I'm not sure if I'll fit...but I am very LOW level in management...

61° now, a little breezy and dry. Not bad weather for early March. No rehab this morning, not sure why it was canceled. Vet coming to check cats. Got a small job on the Ram I want to get done.

Have a good day. God bless.

65°F and no rain but overcast at this point. Back up to carport and whittle away at some details.
The Canadiens left last night until next year. Will be interesting what project crops up for then.

Haven’t mastered the circle closing on my Apple Watch yet but working on it.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

David, did you make your braces from galvanized steel conduit? What diameter was it? I need to make some similar braces for a project. I assume you drilled your holes, on the ends, after flattening with your press? Cold galvanizing to treat the ends?

Thanks!

When I was an Army Comptroller part of my responsibility was Manpower Management. Most jobs would morph over time, especially as we embraced technology. Getting feedback from the employee was invaluable. Sometimes surprising how different the supervisor’s perspective of time utilization than the workers.

RNG, I think you’ll be pleased with your pack technique. When I redid the gas line last year I did something similar. Used about 6 ft section of 4x12 and used the FEL to tamp in layers. Wasn’t comfortable driving full weight of tractor over the 3” pvc, plus 6ft increments would have been insane. 9 months and a lot of rain later I don’t see any appreciable settling. 🤙

35F this morning, weekend storm supposed to bring cold weather later this week.. expect 50s today for high.

Taking today off, dentist appt and Costco run.. have 5 days of work left, 2 more vacation days next week.. gonna be a big change. Need to get better organized for things I need to get done in next couple of months. Putting some off until totally done with work. I was told I will get a retiree ID badge in the next week or 2 and then in the 3-4 weeks an engraved clock..

Stay safe, prayers for all.

Almost forgot about that part.

I got a set of stainless steel flatware that rusted the third or forth time I ran it through the dishwasher. Had it replaced by the manufacturer, sold that on Craig's List, then got a decent set to replace it. Somehow the experience was in keeping with the overall career experience at that company...
