Quote——- “ And while I wasn't doing anything else after breakfast this morning, I went ahead and reset 9 clocks. So it's a couple of days early, and that'll give her something to gripe about. “ - - - Bird

GOOD ONE! Wifey got a chuckle out of that... she said “ I think Bird likes to be ‘ bad ‘ ! “ ....:D

Good morning. It was 46° this morning and our forecast indicates 70° this afternoon.

I took a break from tree trimming yesterday and finished putting my 20 ton press, on its new mobile base, all back together. I may need to replace the bearings in a couple of the wheels on our rear finish mower before Spring.

The mobile base lets me use the press then store it out of the way. The air / hydraulic jack is very handy and saves all the hand pumping.

I attended a CPR Certification Course at our County EMS last evening. We get certified for two years.

I’ve got to head over to Sealy, this morning, to pick up some Land Pride parts I ordered for my 96” rear blade.

BTW ... Y’all forgot the Kinks?

The Kinks - You really got me (1965) HD - YouTube

the kinks all day and all of the night - YouTube

RNG .. have fun with your new drone when it arrives. If it does indeed .. cause rain .. I’ll be ordering one tomorrow.

Thomas .. our turkeys were aggravating the Donkeys in their pasture last couple of days.

Ron .. the scorpions here are the wee small ones.. about 2” or less.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers to all.

What's so special about kale?

Not just kale but dark leafy greens for the nitric oxide. And I just happen to have an over abundance of Organic kale in my garden now.
" . . . .It was later discovered that nitric oxide is a molecule that is produced by almost every cell in our body and is extremely vital to our blood vessel health. Constructed by endothelial cells lining arteries, it plays a pivotal role as a key signaling molecule because it works as a vasodilator, allowing blood vessels to widen, muscles to relax, and blood flow to increase. Due to its vasodilation contributions, it also helps to lower blood pressure.
Nitric oxide levels can be boosted . . . through the consumption of foods high in naturally occurring nitrates. Thankfully, dark leafy greens are an amazing source of nitrates."

Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn's book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" really goes deep into it. He suggest 6 serving a day. ( a handful, after steaming, kale is about a serving)

Good morning to all! Low of 34, already up to 42 at 7:45, going for high of 62! Sunny w a slight breeze.

Something is starting to pollinate here... had two sneezing fits yesterday afternoon and this morning I was all congested. Pollen here is never as bad as some of you guys have... we never get pollen coating on cars and such.... I do not think I would be able to tolerate that much...

Yesterday, I took my neighbor down to get one of the golf cart canopies that I used for my tractor canopy... 40 mile drive ...to find out they closed up shop! Not one clue or a trace that they were even there.... called their phone... no forwarding, just disconnected. We started calling around and found another place that had a couple of used ones... at 3 times the price. He bought one of those anyway. He is definitely excited about the tractor!

I found someone selling a set of quick attach pallet forks and 2 - 8 ft x 6 inch bucket cutting edges.... all for $200. I could not pass that up ... going to pick them up this morning... hopefully....

TheBritish invasion.... some of my favorite music, some of the greatest artists .... for generations.

RNG, I do not know wether to say sorry or congrats on the trench work.... sounds like good progress, but at the cost of heavy physical abuse....

Drew, good luck with meeting with the realtors, you have an amazing place there!

Everyone have a great day!

A mostly sunny 23ºF for today's low temperature; a sunny 36ºF presently; and I anticipate increasing high level cloudiness later today with an afternoon high in the low 40ºF's before the next weather system rolls on in with a mixed precipitation scenario anticipated.

Randy- I am sorry to read about Ellen's biopsy, but glad that it was precancerous with the remainder of the mole getting scheduled for removal.

Bruce- I am envious of anyone who can get a restful nigh's sleep.

I understand that tampons® work well on deep puncture wounds:eek:

The other day I was in the entrance of the supermarket wiping down the cart surfaces, my hands, etc. in my OCD manner and a woman exiting commented on my antics. She seemed surprised that I have been exercising "Universal Precautions" (as trained) since the late 1970's. I now wonder about each and every product that I touch especially the fruits and vegetables and who sick handled and/or sneezed/coughed on it.

RNG- I really think your Mavic Mini can handle low speed winds. And with its weight it will not balloon away like my fully loaded down SYMA X-1'sat 89 grams. The "Flying Cuisinart" was originally ~ 1700 grams and is now 2050 grams with all the added weight of bigger/larger components and video components. My flight times have dropped from 11 - 12 minutes to ~ 7 minutes depending on how I am flying. My SYMA X-1's were grounded in winds <5mph; the "FC" was good to ~20-25 mph. I would suggest starting out in calm wind conditions and that wind speeds increase with height. ;) A picture of my video cam modified X-1 and FWIW: The Turnigy Hal Project - RC Groups

Don- Thanks for sharing your knowledge of nutrition and the plant based diet.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

36°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 49°. Mid 60s by Sunday. Wind was howling all night last night. Gusts hitting the west side (front) of the house woke me a couple times during the night.

Drove up to Rockford again yesterday to take care of the disposition of my dead car. Got it cleaned out, and the salvage yard sent a tow truck to pick it up. In spite of being pretty much stranded 280 miles from home last Friday, everyone I dealt with up there was friendly and helpful. I already miss that car.

Wife and I are going to do some test driving tomorrow.

Best of luck with the layoff rumors, Roy. When I worked for GKN, the Quality Department was pretty much immune from the constant layoffs there ... until one day we weren't. Being on the low end of the seniority totem pole, I did not survive (nor did six others from our department, and nearly 200 from Production).

Eric, there is a list of things my Wife wants done around our place. Seems like she's adding to the list more often than crossing things off of it. One item is rebuilding the double doors on the well house garden shed. Her grandfather built them of 2x4s and plywood over 25 years ago. They have been long past their serviceable use for many years, and I keep threatening to build new ones every year. This Winter, they started getting almost impossible to close, so I guess I'll have to actually do it this Spring.

RNG, that 250 gram weight limit reminds me of the FAA's Part 103 weight limit for ultralight aircraft, which I believe is 254 lbs. Anything at or under that can be flown without a license, too.

Its been above freezing mostly the last week, county took down weight restrictions that had gone up a few weeks ago.. frost came out fast this year.. I was complaining to my wife about the wind in the spring, miserable trying to farm in open station equipment for sure (what we had growing up), most of the farmers around here have cabs now, a few have open station.

Work has slowed to a crawl, have to be online, but have dropped from most meetings I had been attending (for old job).. the folks taking on my old work don't seem interested in my knowledge so guess they are good to go. New manager has still not given me details of project he asked me to do.. we have a meeting this morning to discuss.

Stay safe, prayers for all.

Drew, I buy whole flax seed and grind (in bullet blender) enough up for two weeks, about 2 cups and put it in the refrigerator. You should not buy flaxseed that is already ground. Learned this from the Century Heart study. I sprinkle about 2 tablespoons on oatmeal, or put in cookies, potatoes, beans etc.

They have an alternate healing club here but after talking with them they are more of a fad diet club and do not subscribe to science based research. Even the most knowledgeable organic gardener smokes and the social meal for work day in the organic gardens is hotdogs. You don't have to look far to find why there are so many widows here. The one vegan I do know here from a previous town getogether before we moved here was more concerned about gluten than saturated fat. To me Gluten is just a distraction to real nutritional facts. I feel I'm in college and I'm not ready to repeat kindergarten. The population is similar to TBN - no way to give up animal products and still have a social life - just too hard. To me my heart disease is stopped as long as I stay plant based. The PET scans over 5 years showed no progression. It's been 9 years since my heart attack and my Cardiologist is on board with me. Had an echo done last week and my EF was 65%. ( it was 35% after my heart attack.)

Don, my ejection fraction was in the 35 percent range after my stent but before my surgery. Haven’t read the latest echo report but it it must be substantially improved based on my improvement overall.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

No rocks or logs involved, although your moves do remind me of a time back in the 60's, on the way to a Sheffield Wednesday football match, someone had a radio playing on the top deck of a double decker bus (similar to the red London buses, except those in Sheffield were painted cream)

View attachment 644107

The driver did not appreciate all his passengers deafening foot stomping accompaniment to the Dave Clark Five's "bits and pieces". He stopped the bus and refused to drive on until everyone quit stomping. He must have been either incredibly brave, or really stupid, as some of those older football supporters were not people to be crossed, but there was no trouble.

The Dave Clark Five - Bits & Pieces - Top Of The Pops (1964) - YouTube

I have been a fan of English "football" since the early 70's. Didn't matter the team, it was all beautiful. I actually got to see Gordon Banks play in NYC for the old Cosmos team. Man, that guy was like an alley cat... old, with one eye, pretty well all beat up, but what a heart for the game.
