Petula Clark was one of my favorites a long time ago
just bobbing along to
Downtown...
good morning all. Overnight light rain has stopped, today should be part sun and 55.
Realtors coming by this morning, lot to talk about. I'd prefer not to put up a road sign, they offered to delete that since my target market is not likely local,
probably a doctor from Greenville, next town over. Or a retiring Northerner like me, someone from Minnesota who has had enough snow.
did you read that a doc in NH, in quarantine for Coronavirus, went to a business function anyway and got them sick?
I hope they yank his license, he didn't want to miss out on an industry junket. And I bet he wasn't wearing a mask when he knew he should be.
Sure seemed mighty selfish to me.
I can see why the economy and stock market are getting truly affected as I'm avoiding going to any public place. Can't avoid doctor's offices, food store and pharmacy, though I could use the drivethru at the pharmacy and avoid going in...
I bet Amazon is doing a bigger business now, though they too have coronavirus in their workplace. I wonder how a huge company handles this. Probably a lot
more attention paid to it vs a small business.
I try to open doors with some fabric in the way, though does that mean I'm hauling these nasty bugs around for a week on my coat?... The spread of disease like this is getting too close to infected folks and contaminating your hands which then contaminate what they then touch. Folks can be totally unaware they are doing it. General public needs some good education and fast. Keeping your hands away from your face for whatever reason is then goal 1 until you clean your hands. My best friend was head of a large health dept and has been lecturing me for decades about germ/virus spread. Particularly in the kitchen. And what about the steering wheel on our cars?
Probably ought to give that a wipe down if this stuff lasts 8 days on a surface.
If we are careful, I think we will be ok. Those of us who live in rural areas are probably luckier, less people, less spreading.
I think anyone with a fever or cough should be checked out by a doc, and if they can't afford it, there should be a fund to compensate the provider, at some hugely discounted rate I hope. If you can't afford the medical fees, and you can't afford not to go to work, there's a real dilemma here. That was the point of the article I quoted, not to make any political statements at all. Was I supposed to ignore this good educational piece and edit out part of it? This affects absolutely all of us,
and we won't have much fun on our tractors if we get coronavirus and we also have bad lungs or heart issues. 3.4 percent death rate. Probably less in developed countries so maybe no more than common flu. We should figure out a way to rid ourselves of flus and viruses permanently. I think of all the parents who lost kids to
these diseases. When a cold becomes a catastrophe very fast. My insurance background always focused on risk and I admit my concern as to what is going on.
Thank goodness I like the smell of bleach...
ok, off my medical soapbox but just want us all to be safe and healthy.
