My employer holds part of my salary aside and uses it to pay me for when I get sick or want to take time off (up to the amount of time they withhold).
You don’t need a government mandate, anyone can set this system up themselves.
The problem is most people don’t have the will power to do it when they are self employed.
Remember that quote I gave last week that only 12% of millennials are financially literate, I think the non millennials aren’t much better.
It’s amazing the number of adults who don’t understand basic taxes, withholdings, and the tax return process.

Those with the will power are self employed... And, yes... we don't need a government mandate for most things. But, you do have the benefit of unemployment insurance, I do not. But then, that was my choice 38 years ago.

Good evening all. 37F for the start, .5 inch in rain gauge, clear light wind. Moderate wind day with brisk gusts, sky stayed clear, and high temp was 70F. Slow start, shopping trip planned so did not want to start anything I could not get to easy stop point. Finally made to town and shopping, made it home and went riding, short ride, still back too late for nap, and dog walk after supper. Bradford pears are blooming here.
Roy, still hope no layoff for you. How much longer you want to work?
Eric what will you do with no rain?
Drew good luck with finding the root cause of lack of health.
Ron, have to keep Scooter on leash, he will chase anything that moves, or the hope that something is there. Squirrels won't run far without climbing a tree. be cats have cover across road, and Scooter has no car "sense". And then there are the skunks...
Thomas sounds like preparing for spring.
Don have fun with your new club.
RNG in Missouri and Texas you just declare which ballot you want, do not have to be registered to either party.
Hopefully did not look like Eric's porridge!!
Jay so is my wife envious of how I sleep!
Don no clur on number.
Bill it was called triple tap (use phone number pad to text) never got as good as granddaughter at it.
Prayers for all.

Did they also show you how to stop bleeding in a puncture/bullet wound by stuffing it full of gauze? Kinda gruesome, but if you need to know that, you need to know pretty badly...

Sure did.

Good day here. Got my roof parts cut and painted, ready to install.

Wx gods smiled and we were able to help friend with his hoop roof. Not exactly the smoothest operation, but successful.

Good morning. Sunshine combining with a white over frost make it a really bright start to the day.

It has been a novelty this week to not have to put feed out each day while the sheep are on holiday. The first should soon be returning with their lambs this weekend.

Some mild Corona virus panic appears to have reached our shops yesterday. My wife came back and reported that the shelves normally stocked up with toilet paper were empty. :confused2: Possibly this was caused by the government announcing that the attempts to totally contain the virus were now futile as more cases are occurring in people who have not left the country, nor had any obvious contacts with travellers. Instead the focus is now on trying to delay catching it, to give hospitals a chance to get over the normal winter peak and free up some space for those who will develop complications. It is starting to look like it transmits so easily that it is almost inevitable we could all get it.

Mostly, Bradford is a town not far from where I used to live. Not sure if there is any connection with your Bradford pears - a quick search only turned up "Bradford murder accused appears in court" - oh, perhaps the people of Bradford walked around in "pairs" for safety.

Most of the time is when I am moving a rock or a log and startle the darn things.... I usually then do some sort of weird 80s dance move

I find those under logs once in a while, and the dance move I make involves a lot of stomping.

No rocks or logs involved, although your moves do remind me of a time back in the 60's, on the way to a Sheffield Wednesday football match, someone had a radio playing on the top deck of a double decker bus (similar to the red London buses, except those in Sheffield were painted cream)

The driver did not appreciate all his passengers deafening foot stomping accompaniment to the Dave Clark Five's "bits and pieces". He stopped the bus and refused to drive on until everyone quit stomping. He must have been either incredibly brave, or really stupid, as some of those older football supporters were not people to be crossed, but there was no trouble.

Good morning, the temp is 24°F and the high will be 30. Wind NE 11 gusting to 22 mph. Snow! About an inch.

I may go out and remove another pile of snow, but don't hold your breath.

Have a safe day all

37 going to 54, maybe rain.

Ron, great crane pic.

Toppop, hope things go well with Ellen's mole...my wife slept over at my MIL's to be able to take her to have some skin cancers removed at 7:30 this morning.

Buppies - 20 mpg is very good.

RNG, I'm excited for you getting the drone today.

I'll be glad when DST gets here this weekend. The wall clock will then better sync with my biological clock.
