Congrats Hawkeye, on retirement! Prayers for FIL.

Ted, beautiful furniture.

Buppies, no snow here either...close but no cigar...radar says it IS snowing but not reaching the ground, I guess.

I thought the Whip was a front seat dog...more room in the back, I guess, and you probably get tired of fighting over the radio station :).

Jay, didn't realize your wife was still hurting...prayers said.

RNG, glad you got most of the trenching done. Are you going to put some soft sand in the bottom to lay the pipes in?

I received an email this morning, accepted for voluntary career transition (retirement), last day is March 20, 2020. Lots to do before then, lots to do after.
Just got word that my FIL (who was in car accident 8 days ago and is still in ICU) has pneumonia, his oxygen level was 83 and they were suctioning crud out his throat.. he is doing better otherwise. SIL is doing great, started PT.. Thanks for the prayers and positive thoughts.

Congrats! Hope you get all the stuff done by then. Prayers for your family.

I'vee been following the posts, but have been really busy being a domestic worker, chief cook, bottle washer, and chauffeur for SWMBO. A lot of the posters here are familiar with my current challenges, but sooner or later Wifey will get her strength and range of motion back. For a lot of reasons her broken wrist/arm is mending slower than anticipated. The ice situation here has complicated matters as well. I致e bought more de-icing chemical this Winter than ever before. Hopefully after this 2 day "cold snap" the temperatures will warm over the weekend and allow for more seat time managing the ice. Weather-wise I believe there will (hopefully) be a pattern change midweek next week and there might be a snow bearing coastal storm rather than the mixed precipitation events I've been getting most of this Season.

Jay, you all be careful up there. Hope your wifey starts healing faster. Maybe some warm baths? Prayers.

Whipper gets real mad when Whitesnake comes on the radio. She can otherwise be stealthy on matching seat covers.

I found out an old friend had 2 stents put in today. It went well apparently. 70 years old.

Buckeye, hope you are OK. No GM post since tuesday.

Getting caught up. Had fever and felt aweful Monday, Went to Dr again Tuesday and worked from home. Was feeling a little better Tuesday
Wednesday AM had no hot water, breaker had tripped. Need to investigate further, but hasn’t tripped again. Went to work but felt terrible. Taught Adult bible class Wednesday night still feeling bad. Late getting to work today for an all day meeting. Still not feeling my best, left a little early.

But, did pick up my EA wicked root grapple after work. Got it unloaded, greased, but still on pallet. Stocked house box with pellets since I had tractor out and forks on.

Forgot to mention, freight depot was next to Guinness Brewery in Baltimore. From the look of the pallet the grapple was on, they had a few.

Good morning to all! Low of 26 currently, only forecast for a high of 36. Surprisingly, there is a heavy fog outside and a very fine drizzle, but nothing seems to be freezing. I confirmed my outside temp and compared it to the wunderground reading, that one was lower by a degree... strange there is no snow or sleet at the freezing temps.....

Drew, sorry to hear about you winter weather... sure seemed like spring was there already! Do not push the snow blower too hard, you definitely do not want to aggravate your neck pain.

Bruce, mmmmm, coffee cake... a favorite accompaniment to.... well, good coffee :licking:

WNG, you would be all set with your fresh roasted beans if you had some of Mostly s coffee cake....

Today s agenda is taking wifey down to the city for her nail job . Gotta keep her claws in top shape..... they come in handy for that occasional itchy spot I cannot reach:dance1:
Then I get to go to HD or Lowe s to pick up the hinges and metal sheet for the end table doors. I might get a chance to start making the rough cuts for them today. I got a few coats of finish on the tables yesterday, today I will get the final coat on and get them buffed. Here are a few pics of them.

Everyone have a great day!

You do great work. That’s really nice.

30° and chance of flurries. It feels like snow outside but looks like it will stay south of us.

Frankly, I don’t mess with snow anymore unless it’s 6” or more. Especially if the weather isn’t going to stay below freezing for an extended period of time. Mother Nature puts it there, I let Mother Nature clean it up.

New part for dishwasher still back ordered. New freezer coming in a week, smaller than old one which I need to get out of basement, need to check elements in water heater, need to get hydraulic connectors on front of tractor to try the grapple.

Thomas, I’m trying to downsize, but getting rid of a tractor is not part of it. I have 2 here, in addition to new ZTR and 2 riders I need to fix and sell.

We got a dusting of snow but it was around 33° so roads are wet. Very light dusting at that, we were not supposed to get any.

Good evening all. 40F for the start, cloudy, windy. Wind was going all day peak gust approaching 30, sky cleared some. and high temp was 49F. Conservation of energy today. Did get fire going and keeping living room warm. Fish club meeting tonight, had lake biologists there to talk about improvements to fishing.
Welcome back Eric, glad you are still official fire builder. I also have that title here, wife will stock if needed, unless I am late getting back.
Drew good luck with your shopping and plant protection.
Thomas, how much more do you need to do? you are retired, right?
Ron, lots of squirrels, like here mostly greys, bumper crop of acorns on ground starting to rot.
Thomas that will be interesting discussion to stay at 1 tractor.
Bird we only got .1 inch up here.
Drew need pics of your snow blower!! :D
Ted, tables look great!!
PJ temp roller coaster continues here, war for weekend then cold next week.
RNG sounds like most of your trenching done, hope eye dr visit goes well.
Hawkeye great news on retirement hope you get all done, and FIL/SIL out of hospital.rehab soon.
Jay sorry SWMBO is slow healing, I found ice/sleet most difficult to manage, where I have lived did not stay as cold as long as you:eek:
David, nice work hope wx hold and can get carport done. Will rain gutters be hooked to water catch system?
Buckeye, glad you are getting better, hope you get hot water heater worked out.
prayers for all.

Mostly, do they want to put in some sunken structures?

I just watched the new "Midway" movie. Great movie, but I believe some of the scenes are a tad overdone.

Some real heroes back then.

Sounds like great news for you, hawkeye! Now that you have the reins firmly in hand, just get the details cleared up and turn the page on a new chapter in your life. I bet it won't be long before you wonder how you ever had time for a job...

A bit of progress, basic gutter hung on cottage side

That's some nice progress, David.

Were the gutters part of the kit?

BTW, thanks for keeping the Pineapple Express to yourself this past month. Still looking dry and warm for the next week, and I hope I'll be ready for a March Miracle after that. We're about normal on the reservoir levels, but the snow pack in the Sierra is less than half what it should be, so it could be a bad summer for the farmers...
