I have a question for all the REAL concrete kings out there.
What's the biggest pad you would pour of you didn't have anyone to help you?
10' x 12'?
5' x 12'?
5' x 6'?
There's an outfit that will sell a cubic yard of concrete in a trailer, sort of like a miniature concrete truck.
The whole 10' x 12' pad, 5" deep, needs almost 2 yards, so it makes sense to do two 5' x 12' pours, along the lines that Ted did for his son's new garage. Just trying to get a feel if that's reasonable to tackle on my own...
So if I understand correctly, 2 loads of 1 cuyd each. So you are only spreading, screeding, floating, not mixing. So I would say you could reasonably due 2 @5x12. Even better if you can get a helper.
Sometimes a driver will help spread initially. How long between loads?
