55 going to 61 and rain.

3Rs: Remarkable Recovery Randy.

Jim, good news about your water heater working.

Ted, the quarry is 1/4 mile from the trail, and the far side of it is 1/2 mile, so the blast was somewhere in between. I looked on the national earthquake map, because sometimes it shows quarry blasts, but "mine" wasn't shown.

Yesterday made the first trip to the gym this year...very busy with some new faces...hope they keep it up. Then roasted a couple of coffees, one of which is sitting nicely in my mug right now.

Coffee is done brewing. 36° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with cloudy skies. Got my shopping done yesterday. Sure was nice to shop without the holiday crowds. Shelves were loaded with items I needed. Not sure whit I will do today.

Mostly, I do put all my appointments in my iPhone calendar. I must have entered wrong time. Each email/text message had the correct time. But I did not look at it. :confused3:

Randy, good news on your recovery. I have finally recovered from my experience with Flomax. Exercise bike is going good. Up to 20 minuets each day. I am sleeping better at night. Amazing what a little exercise does to improve your health and well being.

David, did you have to order water heater from mainland? How long to get it?

LS, good to know that Lowes does the exchange for Craftsman. Ace Hardware is carrying Craftsman. Need to check if they are doing the exchange. I will probably go to Lowes it is 2 1/2 miles. Ace is 6 miles.

Rick, I need to use Wet and Forget on garden edging this coming spring. Going to watch for it on sale. If that ever happens? I already have foam attachment.

Drew, do you use the pine needles for mulch?

Don, had to think about using 2020 instead of just 20. Must be somewhere it would be to someones advantage to make 20 read 2025. :confused2: But I always put the whole year date since 2000. When someone ask my birthday date i use 6 19 42. Nobody admits to getting it wrong.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning. It's a cool 40° here this morning and our NWS forecast indicates we'll get to 71° this afternoon with sunshine all day and 75° is expected for Sunday.

WNG ... when I went to the local fitness club in Sugar Land, before I retired, it was packed for most of January every year but by February ... like magic ... they were gone.

Randy ... I'm glad to hear you're seeing improvement. Hoping your cardio rehab is productive.

Ron ... good to know your recumbent bike is working for you ...They're good cardio machines. I've got to get back to using mine for more than a jacket hanger. I'm just using tread mill presently and some free weight work.

David ... hope your replacement water heater install goes well. Our two Rinnai's, at the ranch, are now almost 11 years old. Other the mud daubers making nests, in the vent side, they've been trouble free.

Everyone have a great Saturday.

Prayers to all.

Yes we do, everything is mulched/chipped nothing is burned, but we use that mulch at those location either spread out under the trees on fireWise or on the trails on trail clearing.
These wood chips come from other sources like the landscape companies that trim trees in the neighborhood.

Why in the world would you spread flammable wood chips on the ground in areas where you are trying to prevent the spread of fire? The chips may not burn violently, but they do burn, acting like a fuse to transport the fire to anything the chips touch.

Good morning! 36˚F heading to 68˚F with clear skies. Trail Blazers is taking advantage of the perfect day this afternoon and we will be getting a trail ready for an open house - I'll find out what that entails.
FireWise is starting back up after the holidays next week but this morning my machine SIG in the garden club will be doing maintenance on equipment. The tractor turn over 500 hours while I was on it yesterday so it still has another 100 hours before the oil needs to be changes but I do need to grease it this morning after yesterday.
Also in the garden, the little pocket park next to my raised bed needs mowing the winter grasses are taking off.

36 right now, but feels colder...high will be in the mid-30's. The forecast is for about 3" of snow today and another inch or so tonight into Sunday morning.
No need for a dump run today...so, no real need for leaving the house...unless wifey wants to go to the store. She's a late riser (that is, still in bed) so I won't know about the store run until later.

I question that also but the wood chips rotten quickly and pick up moister from the ground. They also cut back on the grass since this area is rocky and cannot be mowed. They burn slower than grass and mostly just smolder instead of sooting up flames. I'm still waiting for a brush fire in the area so I can evaluate a cleared area vs a non cleared area. I also found another project for our fireWise group - some of the fire hydrants are getting blocked by landscape plants. The city request a 3' clearance around the fire hydrants.
