Ted, too late. My model heater is already obsolete, as of Mar I think. The one I ordered is the suggested replacement. Hope that means all the hook ups match.

Don, good suggestion regarding date, sensible.

   / Good morning!!!! #104,483
Glad you had success Jim. Probably doesn’t take much to affect the combustion. I’d be happy if mine got that far, but other than hearing the water flow nothing, not even a click.
My Tagaki is for cold water input as well. Some are rated to use solar input. Has to do with the in vs out delta I believe.

I made a run into town today, so swung by Lowe’s and exchanged a bunch of beat up, abused, and broken Craftsman screwdrivers. Some were bent using as a pry bar, one had the handle halfway chewed off by the dog, others had the tips broken. Lowe’s replaced all eleven of them, no questions asked. Total of $55 worth. Lowe’s has my

That’s good to hear. Lowes is about 90 miles each way, so don’t go very often. Hopefully our local Sears will be here a bit. I have a number with broken tips. Clerk told me rust wasn’t a valid reason.

Quick trip to town this morning then a nice breakfast at home before loading up for a dump run.

A couple of hours up to cottage picking up and some power washing. One more pile of dirt to level out tomorrow. Tenants expected back home late afternoon.

Good morning,
the temp is 28°F and the high will be 25 for the day. Wind N 3 mph. Mainly cloudy.

The driveway is all cleaned up from the last dusting we got, so today is an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all. Warm and wet here, rain on and off all day, about half an inch so far.
Helper coming this morning and we are clearing out attic storage, places I haven't looked at since I moved here. Lot of old stuff to be shredded, I need to gather it all up and take it somewhere to be shredded.

Really poured for a while last night, noisy enough I thought the hvac came on but just rain and wind. Which will mean the driveway will be covered in pine needles this morning.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Good evening all. 43F for the start, overcast moderate wind. Wind backed off in the afternoon, sky finally cleared off, and high temp was 57F. Slow start, envelope stuffing fish club forms in the POA billing to start day. 10 of us got 1500 envelopes stuffed in about 25 minutes:) . Then off to town to get grocerys and wife's hair permed. Did get a nap in, wanted to work on a friends bike but timing did not work.
All the people with countdowns hope you make it with no issues.
David hope Sophies eye continues to heal. Wife has that issues with restaurants, she finds something she really likes and poof in less than a year it changes, restaurant closes changes cooks etc. drives her mad.
RNG, nice you made it home glad it was a good trip, hope you get windshield fixed soon.
Randy, good to hear better than before operation, how long before you are fully recovered?
Rick, thanks for the wet and forget tip have some siding to try that on.
Ron, I put my appointments in phone calendar, used a PDA for years that synced with desktop. I suffer from CRS (can't remember stufff...)
Ted, glad you are mostly recovered from bug.
Don good advice, thanks
Ted thanks for Loews update, no Sears here either.
Don are going to work like Drew and make us look worse?
prayers for all.

Full recovery is hard to judge, I’m going to cardio rehab starting February. At local hospital and judged one oh these programs in the country, so I hope to regain a lot of lost muscle tone. I’m doing things I could only dream of a month ago though.

   / Good morning!!!! #104,489
We're supposed to have a little bigger than normal temperature spread today; 29 degrees for a windless low and going for a 59 degree sunny high.

   / Good morning!!!! #104,490
56 and rain all night, warm today, then cool and back to warm.

Heard from an old friend in TX this morning, he got a haircut and beard trim for the first time in a while. At 6’ 7” and 300 plus pounds he looks like a big bear. Harry is a retired Marine, submariner and Army Corps of Engineers operative.
You Texas boys sure keep busy!

I have known him for 20 plus years, I’ll post some pics in his various uniforms and of his 57 Chevy with the Pontiac engine, sometime. He has health issues and is 72, it was really good to hear from him and I’m ashamed I didn’t reach out sooner.

Have a good day guys, prayers.

55 going to 61 and rain.

3Rs: Remarkable Recovery Randy.

Jim, good news about your water heater working.

Ted, the quarry is 1/4 mile from the trail, and the far side of it is 1/2 mile, so the blast was somewhere in between. I looked on the national earthquake map, because sometimes it shows quarry blasts, but "mine" wasn't shown.

Yesterday made the first trip to the gym this year...very busy with some new faces...hope they keep it up. Then roasted a couple of coffees, one of which is sitting nicely in my mug right now.

Coffee is done brewing. 36° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with cloudy skies. Got my shopping done yesterday. Sure was nice to shop without the holiday crowds. Shelves were loaded with items I needed. Not sure whit I will do today.

Mostly, I do put all my appointments in my iPhone calendar. I must have entered wrong time. Each email/text message had the correct time. But I did not look at it. :confused3:

Randy, good news on your recovery. I have finally recovered from my experience with Flomax. Exercise bike is going good. Up to 20 minuets each day. I am sleeping better at night. Amazing what a little exercise does to improve your health and well being.

David, did you have to order water heater from mainland? How long to get it?

LS, good to know that Lowes does the exchange for Craftsman. Ace Hardware is carrying Craftsman. Need to check if they are doing the exchange. I will probably go to Lowes it is 2 1/2 miles. Ace is 6 miles.

Rick, I need to use Wet and Forget on garden edging this coming spring. Going to watch for it on sale. If that ever happens? I already have foam attachment.

Drew, do you use the pine needles for mulch?

Don, had to think about using 2020 instead of just 20. Must be somewhere it would be to someones advantage to make 20 read 2025. :confused2: But I always put the whole year date since 2000. When someone ask my birthday date i use 6 19 42. Nobody admits to getting it wrong.

Good Morning All.

Oh, I forgot....

Welllll couple extra goodies were added. ;)

Good Morning. It's a cool 40° here this morning and our NWS forecast indicates we'll get to 71° this afternoon with sunshine all day and 75° is expected for Sunday.

WNG ... when I went to the local fitness club in Sugar Land, before I retired, it was packed for most of January every year but by February ... like magic ... they were gone.

Randy ... I'm glad to hear you're seeing improvement. Hoping your cardio rehab is productive.

Ron ... good to know your recumbent bike is working for you ...They're good cardio machines. I've got to get back to using mine for more than a jacket hanger. I'm just using tread mill presently and some free weight work.

David ... hope your replacement water heater install goes well. Our two Rinnai's, at the ranch, are now almost 11 years old. Other the mud daubers making nests, in the vent side, they've been trouble free.

Everyone have a great Saturday.

Prayers to all.

Yes we do, everything is mulched/chipped nothing is burned, but we use that mulch at those location either spread out under the trees on fireWise or on the trails on trail clearing.
These wood chips come from other sources like the landscape companies that trim trees in the neighborhood.

Why in the world would you spread flammable wood chips on the ground in areas where you are trying to prevent the spread of fire? The chips may not burn violently, but they do burn, acting like a fuse to transport the fire to anything the chips touch.

Good morning! 36˚F heading to 68˚F with clear skies. Trail Blazers is taking advantage of the perfect day this afternoon and we will be getting a trail ready for an open house - I'll find out what that entails.
FireWise is starting back up after the holidays next week but this morning my machine SIG in the garden club will be doing maintenance on equipment. The tractor turn over 500 hours while I was on it yesterday so it still has another 100 hours before the oil needs to be changes but I do need to grease it this morning after yesterday.
Also in the garden, the little pocket park next to my raised bed needs mowing the winter grasses are taking off.

36 right now, but feels colder...high will be in the mid-30's. The forecast is for about 3" of snow today and another inch or so tonight into Sunday morning.
No need for a dump run today...so, no real need for leaving the house...unless wifey wants to go to the store. She's a late riser (that is, still in bed) so I won't know about the store run until later.

I question that also but the wood chips rotten quickly and pick up moister from the ground. They also cut back on the grass since this area is rocky and cannot be mowed. They burn slower than grass and mostly just smolder instead of sooting up flames. I'm still waiting for a brush fire in the area so I can evaluate a cleared area vs a non cleared area. I also found another project for our fireWise group - some of the fire hydrants are getting blocked by landscape plants. The city request a 3' clearance around the fire hydrants.
