I think we may come and join you all tomorrow, we have been told to expect up to 47C which is about 117F, power outages are almost guaranteed so aircon won't be an option, will spend a day herding horses under trees as they are too stupid to do it themselves.

I am pushing a bit on job transition, old team is NOT liking the NO backfill comment, but did get agreement that come Jan 2, we start moving work over. Good news for them, if I wasn't doing the job to the expectations of management, then they don't need to do what I was doing, they need to figure out what management wants them to do since they are the managers and we are the workers.

I am considering making a stink after the new year and trying to get completely out of this group so the management stink does not follow me.

Just got back from "kindergarten concert" that didn't happen. Kindergarten did not have a Christmas concert at our grand daughter's school. Our daughter erroneously saw and announcement for another school (similar name).. interesting that the grand daughter has been practicing her songs for a couple weeks at school, all good, just no concert.. the office was very confused by our ask, "Where is the kindergarten concert?".. I bet they laugh about it for until they go on break..

Just to cheer me up, wife wanted me buy a bang bang... with new laws, it will be at least a couple weeks before I can pick it up though. I had to sign document saying I was eligible to purchase a semi automatic assault rifle or semiautomic handgun.. Too bad no one has any assault rifles for sale.

39 and raining...snow about 10 miles west. Should only go up to 41.

Frank, beautiful dogs!

LS, smart work on canopy.

Roasted coffee yesterday until the wind died down enough to go out and change the oil in my wife's SUV. The last change was at the dealer (the last free one) and they sure put the filter canister on tight. I was making such straining and groaning sounds my wife came over to rescue me from some imagined catastrophe. Even though the local weatherman said rain would be to the north today, glad I didn't wait until this morning to re-tarp my firewood and bring in a load to the porch.

Went on skunk patrol this morning, but only saw a raccoon.

Don, thanks for sharing that animation. Amazing. I wondered if the hook was gonna caught on something.

Got home tonight and saw a skunk in bottom portion of front yard....Got Remington 1100, 2 shells, fired up old Gator, drove all over and finally found it. Kablooey. I wonder if it was rabid. It was walking erratically.

trivial to mild aortic insufficiency

that sounds pretty good to me, if I'm reading it right... Slow and steady Randy.

I have two rv campgrounds to call today who promised me email confirmations and they never showed up.
Made a lot of reservations yesterday, got the Florida trip booked up to Fort Meyers and will do the return from there
when I get to first friend's home in Delray Beach. And a lot of them charge for one night stay right away.

25F here this morning. Drew, you might want to extend your stay in Florida until Texas warms up.....(Last week we had 2 days over 80F)

Mostly, glad wifey is better.

L4n, canopy looks good.

Ron, nice pics.

Will have to catch up on the rest later.

Prayers for our team.

Our dollar against the American dollar is worth 68 cents.

wow, wasn't aware it was that far apart, thought around ten percent.
From what I've seen most of the stuff (hot tubs, rv's) built in Canada are very high quality.
But if you don't make it there, add expensive transportation in plus this almost one third cost disadvantage, makes
for expensive cost of living. Hopefully offset by lower taxes, lower utility costs.
Am guessing the less expensive Chinese goods coming in from the West Coast would be very appealing at least on price.

sun is coming out, time to get moving, in the sixties. Have to take trailer to friend's home at river and bring my CCLT2 riding mower back for winter.
Takes me quite a while to get all the sand out of the deck bearings, plus blade is shot in one year. As in worn half off.
Then rain comes in this afternoon.

$1 Canadian = $.76 US right now.
