"They make DC powered electric seat pads that plug into your cigarette/power outlet on the tractor. Talk to Santa about that."- Drew mood luck with the ear injections. I may have to talk to Mra. Claus about that heated seat pad. In my snowmobile suit i was pretty warm with today's temps; but an electric seat pad would come in handy when I starts to get really cold around here.

Frank- Thanks. It was still dark with the "before" pic. This weather system was really interesting in the way it tracked across the CONUS and then started interacting with the secondary low pressure system.

The ProMets and Meteo-Brainiacs at the weather site that I frequent have been gong nuts for over a week with this storm. The thread pertaining to just this system had ~ 3K posts and +120K views and is still going strong. The various weather model runs really accurately reflected what happened here in MA as reported by Phil and I.

I think I'll be having medicinal strength martinis tonight. :(;)

What did you get Western MA? I got about 18-20in. Not sure how west you are I’m closer to Worcester.

Woke up this morning to about 13" of snow (well at 8 AM when I measured it) got about 3 "more before I started plowing and a bit over an inch while plowing;
so around 17" of total snow fall a little bit of sleet while I was out.

The snow fall amounts up here where all over the place just 15 miles was making a foot difference.

Time to put my feet up and enjoy the heat rolling off the coal insert,
the way to do supplemental heat, no cutting, no spliting, no insects, dump a 40# bag into a 5 gallon bucket,
shake the grates down and coal take out an ash pan and dump it. Once a day :)

Ramman- So far I measured 12" of compacted snow early this AM when some sleet started mixing in. It looks like I have another 1" since I plowed, it's snowing presently; and I anticipate another 3" - 4" with Round #2 as this storm's comma head wraps up off the coast of MA/ME.

"... The snow fall amounts up here where all over the place just 15 miles was making a foot difference."- Lou. I agree about the banding. A lot of ProMets looked pretty silly progging this system. My wood stove feels real good right now.

Has that been pretty accurate? I have tried several forecasts but with my elevation they seem to always be off by a few inches. But at the same time I’m in the snow belt and get snow if I sneeze

The Worcester Highlands and the Berkshire Hilltowns get the benefit of elevation dependent snow. I also benefit from Lake Effect snow when the winds are blowing from the right direction. Cummington, MA is not on a lot of MA maps. We are essentially 24 miles from Northampton, Pittsfield, and Greenfield. My driveway sits at 1380' elevation.

I just started using those strip charts and have been pretty pleased with the accuracy so far. The Accuweather Pro is essentially real time and I am watching that map and the SPC Meso for shrinkage/dissipation. I think the NWS is overdoing the accumulations for western MA, but not the Worcester area with this map, but NWS/Boston-Norton have been pretty reliable. Their posted discussion is not reflected in that map.

No kidding I will definitely be looking into them! My driveway is 1237 for elevation. I find it funny Worcester calculates the elevation at the regional airport. And that is only about 650 to 700 feet.

Did a little shopping online. Got Microsoft office $40 off at Costco. No outstanding deals, until I saw a queen memory foam mattress for $138. Same brand we have bought before and liked. So now I’m gonna convert the guest room to a queen bed.

Went to Costco. Walking to back of store and back wore out my legs and made my feet hurt.

Just saw 3 more deer run across the field.

Hawkeye, check out Crutchfield.com for their recommendations. Super company but price check before buying. If you need advice,
they are the ones to go to plus they sell the custom install kits....

I spent a couple hours on their site last weekend.. It is either get one from them or spend hours trying to figure out the wiring and interface to the adapters (either PAC or IData). I will need to make choice today if I want Cyber Monday deals (I didn't see date on sale at Crutchfield). I may wait until spring too, but my wife wants me to get a bigger screen for backup camera. The rest is just extras. I would put a standalone unit in if it was just for towing, but it is very nice for backing up in parking lots and such.. She has the big screen on her Tahoe and loves it.

Ramman- NWS/Boston-Norton's current data for my area comes from Pittsfield RA which is 34 miles away and at a much lower elevation, but that NWS office's ProMets are really good. I use the local Cummington Safety Complex's data (WeatherUnderground) which is 1.5 miles away and 500' lower in elevation. Accuweather taps Otis AF for my local data.

I may be doing you a serious disservice: Forecast Map Wall WX Disco | Social Scientific Weather Community

I forgot who, but someone here directed me to the hamster if I remember correctly

It's a slippery slope. It's too late for me.
