Looking4new
The cat is responding to treatment. Antibiotics are doing their thing. The salmon slurry I made up for her went down the hatch pretty quick. I sat and watched her, so I know who ate it all.
.............................
That's great news. :)

Well, I finally bought a new tractor today, will be delivered on Friday morning. MF 1723, 23 h.p. diesel, 4x4, PS, tilt wheel, with loader, 60 belly mower, and box grader for my clam shell drive. R4 tires and a fabricated step to help me mount up. It痴 a SCUT and the perfect size for around here. I値l post pics once it痴 here.

Looks like Santa starting to make his rounds... congrats Randy. :cool2:

Good morning! 27˚F cloudy south breeze heading to the mid 40s.
Randy will be watching for the pics of your new tractor.
L4N- glad you cat is responding to treatment.
Some say two more nights of freezing so the water has been cut off in the garden till Saturday, and others say this was the last night of freezing temps, we will see.

Good morning. It's 30° here and calm this morning. The high is forecast to be 46° today. This should be our last day below freezing ... for a while. I'm glad to north winds are finally over too. Hoping to get back to more tree trimming and burn pile building. We still have three huge piles to burn so ... we'll see what wind does.

Don ... NWS says you'll see 36° tomorrow a.m. but 31° and 32° on Thursday / Friday.

Drew ... Safe travels!

Randy ... we're all looking forward to seeing your new tractor and you using it.

L4N ... glad you're cat is doing better.

Hope everyone has a productive "Hump Day".

Prayers to all.

Drinking second cup of hot coffee. -0 °F with clear skies this morning. Heading to 2° with partly cloudy skies. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!. Having a good time with aunt reminiscing, shopping and other stuff. So much that it has me behind on my GM readings. Did cancel visit to other aunt in Port Huron until Saturday. At 3pm yesterday roads were still in bad shape around here.

Prayers and best wishes for all.

Good Morning All.

11°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 38° today. Some high thin clouds made for a very colorful sunrise.

Congrats on the new tractor, Randy. I really liked the MF stuff when I was looking.

Have a safe trip, Drew.

Didn't freeze last night, looks like it drizzled a bit. System moving in for rest of week.. expecting some rain, perhaps snow in higher elevations.

First time in a long time that I had no back pain for 24hrs (had a good day yesterday, slept good last night). Need to continue the Total Gym workouts (just stretching low back right now) along with some time on treadmill.

Grand daughter really does NOT like taking the antibiotics.. this time it is the flavor she sort of likes, but fights it every time.. some of it is drama with her momma, but 2 days done, 8 more to go.

New job has a "playbook" they use, was able to get copy to start studying so I know what is happening.

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

A clear and sunny 11ºF for today’s low; 18ºF and sunny presently; and I anticipate a sunny afternoon with the high temperature in the mid 20ºF’s. It was around 3ºF with the windchill during the morning walk of the perimeter. Definitely a day for the long undies and snowmobile suit.

Jim- Thanks for the information. I did buy the BGE from an authorized dealer. I used furnace cement for the cracked inner shell, but it took 5 burns to get rid of the smell. I’ll definitely research out the epoxy cement. It still works as designed. Again- thanks. :)

Randy- Congratulations on your new tractor.

Bruce- Thanks. I still have an operational Weber cobbled together from all the Webers I had. They are great grills.

David- I make great smoked ribs, but decent brisket still eludes me :embarrassed:. And now that I know that there is a nearby smokehouse (~8 miles) who make a really decent brisket my experimenting days are over. I still have some of the smoked brisket in the freezer. My inner shell cracked due to the expansion of a SS pan I was using as an indirect-steamer for smoking. According to a friend glowing cast iron = ~1000ºF BTDT (1x by accident ) And a big thanks for the BBQ Guru lead.

Drew- I wish you safe travels and a great time with your friends.

Bill- Great news about your cat. I hope the progress continues.

Hawkeye- I am happy to read that you have been pain free for a day. That’s progress :) Good luck with the Granddaughter and your position transition.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day and everyone living in the land of cold stay warm.

My + thoughts and prayers.

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 7:45AM. Some sun this morning with increasing clouds this afternoon. High 74F. Winds light and variable.

Back in the saddle again, eh Randy? Good on ya!

Glad the snow a lot of you got didn't turn out to be worse than it was.

And hopefully any black ice will be melted off before you get that far north, Drew.

Glad the cat's responding to the medication, and the salmon, Bill. Do you think its down one of its nine lives?

Playbook, hawkeye? That's a sign of a good manager in my book!

Waited most of a month for a gravel delivery, then the guy tells me his two trucks broke down and it'll be another three weeks. Can't wait that long, so talked to another trucker yesterday that is supposed to be sending a quote. Hope he's not a flake, too...

Got some help and now have the right spark plug caps on order, supposed to be here Friday. And they're supposed to be sending a shipping label so I can return the wrong ones.

Financial info is pretty thin in the ground for Simplifi, David, but I did learn that they've had three rounds of angel financing, they recently moved into a larger manufacturing facility, and sales have increased steadily over the past three years. I also found claims that they've had no failures of any of their batteries over the past three years, apparently the life of the current Phi series of batteries. They do have an Energize California program going on for their integrated inverter/battery packages that offers a small discount, but that doesn't apply to their individual batteries. They are aware, being a California based operation, of the PSPS and wildfire problems in the state, though.

I couldn't get enough leverage with the ratchet strap yesterday to straighten out the container, so I re-leveled one end and then gave each of the seals a good soaking in silicone lubricant. That made a bigger difference than anything else, enough to get both ends closed up with some effort. Measured each of the shim stacks, and the block thicknesses, and will now try to figure out how to replace the wood and Masonite parts with block and aluminum shims.

Hump Day already? Seems like it was just Monday yesterday!

Just got back from the dentist, going to need some store bought teeth. Full upper and partial lower. I basically knew it, gotta wait until my valve replacement though.
Snow is still here but melting finally.
I’ve got to go out and rearrange both garages to get ready for my tractor.
I’m going to have them deliver it with the box grader mounted and leveled and the mower deck, I’ll dress the driveway and mow some areas my hired guy couldn’t seem to find, then I’ll put the adapter and York rake on and start cleaning up the limbs and junk from the storms and fill a small sink hole where a tree use to be.

Does your new MF have rear remotes Randy? Hydraulic top and side links really make grader work easy ... when you can make “on the fly” adjustments from your seat.

Potentially what new system could look like

Need to put some thought to redoing the meters.

I watched a couple of their videos, an 8kw is just 2 4kw units together. Interesting system., especially going gridtie and net zero. Or choosing between grid or generator.

Yup, interesting
Installer has told me that should need arise I can also add the 2nd inverter in the 4048 enclosure after the install. Don’t think I’ll have the need.

"... Playbook, hawkeye? That's a sign of a good manager in my book!"- RNG I agree. It seems that Mr. Hawkeye is an essential and valued employee

David- Thanks for sharing your inverters and battery bank upgrades/replacements projects.

Randy- I am sorry to read about the dentures; good luck. And good luck with your new tractor. It reads like you will be working your new tractor as soon as it's delivered  That happened to me last year when I had to dig my way back up the driveway to the house from the road after my tractor was finally delivered after maintenance.

A beautiful, but cold day here especially now that the winds are decreasing.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

When we lived in Atlanta, we were just down the street from the main BGE. Looked many times, but their love for even the used ones was greater than mine. Then just a few miles away we found Primo, made right there in Atlanta, not Mexico. Was able to get the XL oval model and table just in time for our move. Cracked the inner when I had it over 800ーF one time. They replaced it, but I had to pay shipping. Cheating, by using the BBQ Guru, we often cook low and slow about 225ー. Awesome brisket

The BBQ Guru is great,I use it a lot, I used to make a lot of jerky and the Guru would hold 150 F for the 6 to 7 hours it took. They ,too ,are pricey but worth it if you cook a lot like we do.

RNG, not sure we can get any company info that provides a strong warm and fuzzy any more. Just look at companies that tanked last few years - sad.
Outback and SimpliPhi were the main component suppliers for 70+ Hawaii school projects.

I agree. Really hesitated due to price but don’t regret at all.
