Yes, now att is saying to unplug the m-cell for 90 minutes.

I once had to hard reboot the phone while having the tower unplugged for a lengthy period, I don’t remember exactly how long, but 90 minutes doesn’t seem out of line. Good luck with it, that technology is getting old.

Good morning to all! Low only went to 40 this morning, up to a balmy 64 today before the winter storm warning tonight. We may not see any snow, but just about a 45 minute drive north might get up to a foot of snow! Tommorow' high is forecast to only be 42 and windy....joy!

Nice pics posted by everyone! Some beautiful scenery for sure!

Randy, glad to hear that good report on the kidney function.

Ron, good choice not to tackle handling that door without help!

Buppies, that's some decent mileage on your truck. I barely get that with my V6!

Drew, that was a really good looking tomato.

Don, wifey and I both have IPhone 6s. Really like them, they've been trouble free for over 2 years. I'm not even sure if they are still available.

We're off to take Kassie, our little 'old lady' schnauzer to the groomer, then do a few errands in the big city.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers out for all.

Don't care for no-spill cans so much, but "no-spill Jill" is really easy on the eyes.

No Spill Jill - Short Demonstration - YouTube

Thanks for posting that link, Kyle. I never knew about the auto shutoff feature, and it'll come in handy.

The No-Spills work better after installing, and opening, one of those Ez-Pour vents in them.

But now the 2 1/2 gallon No-Spill I have here is leaking from, of all places, the button. Nuthin' like having a wet thumb every time you pour...:muttering:

Yep, really nice teeth. :)

They are so white, RNG bought 2!!!

Just for the record, my purchase was made before Kyle posted that link, and Jill's ,er, attributes, had nothing to do with that decision.

If any of you know of a better gas can, that you can actually buy new right now, I'd love to hear about it. I've been pouring a lot of gas from cans lately, between the generator and motorcycles, which both have fill holes on a horizontal surface. The nozzles on all of my old 5 gallon cans stick up in the air at about a 45ー angle, and fuel will pour out of a full can before the nozzle can engage the filler neck on the tanks. The button on the No-Spill, combined with the horizontal nozzle, makes filling those tanks a breeze, and aside from a wet thumb, yesterday I didn't spill a drop when using the No-Spill. I spilled a LOT of gas trying to fill the No-Spill tank, which I was using to transfer gas from the 5 gallon cans, and for the same reason: The gas from a full 5 gallon can starts pouring out the nozzle before the nozzle can get anywhere near the opening on the 2 1/2 gallon No-Spill tank. Those 5 gallon cans work great on the filler neck of a car, which is located on a vertical surface, and if I had a place where I could elevate the smaller No-Spill so I could keep the 5 gallon tank lower, I might have more luck getting the gas where it needs to go. I think it was Bill that said he just used a funnel to pour gas directly out of the can, no nozzle involved, and that's probably the best solution for a horizontal filler hole, if you don't have a No-Spill can.

unwanted visitor this morning
tomato from friend's garden in Delaware, most perfect tomato I've seen.
Slug apparently was impressed too.
I think it came in on the back of a pepper yesterday.

Good thing slugs don't eat much, huh, Drew?

The short story: Wife needs new iPhone to replace her 5s. Any suggestions on any good deals out there?

No, not since Apple started offering eleven hundred dollar iPhones. They've priced me out of their market.

But I'lm curious what you will come up with.

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 8:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High around 90F. Winds NNE at 10 to 15 mph.
We've been under a Red Flag Warning since 5AM, with gusting winds and very low humidity predicted for later today and tomorrow morning. I've been getting blackout alerts from the electric company for the past two days, so it's just a matter of when, not if, the power will go off today. Brought home enough beer from Costco yesterday to completely fill all the empty space in the fridge; all that thermal mass will keep it cool tonight when the generator's not running. I won't run a generator when I'm sleeping because I don't like the idea of possible CO poisoning. There are much better ways to die than that.

Ain't nature great, Houser? How lucky you were there to see her strut her stuff, and thanks for sharing!

My bodyshop neighbor recommended a hydraulic shop in town to get the backhoe hose repaired, and gosh, did he pick a winner. It was in an older building in an area of town with lots of repair and industrial stuff, the kind of place with a big counter on one side and shelves and shelves laid out so customers could browse for fittings and a million other things while they waited. The man behind the counter disappeared into the back where the shops were located, and I told him I was surprised he was going to check the hose while I waited. He smiled and kept on walking. I could hear the pumps running while he made the check, and then I heard him hand the repair off to another fellow. In ten minutes he was back with a completely new hose, fittings and all. He told me it used British fittings, another surprise as it came off an Italian Nardi backhoe. :confused2: :dance1:

As I was getting ready to leave for town yesterday, I was looking around the garage at four motorcycles, each with a nearly empty fuel tank. With all this blackout business going on, and wanting to keep extra gas on hand, I decided to empty all my 5 gallon cans into the motorcycles, so they'd all be full of stabilized E0. Then I loaded 27 1/2 gallons worth of empty cans into the truck, and got 'em all filled up at the fuel depot. Also got the 5 gallon bucket for hydraulic fluid filled, so I can get the backhoe going again. I also picked up the repaired cylinders for the white bike while I was in town, and now it's loaded on the lift so it can be put back together. Good thing I don't have anything else to do...:confused2:

Just one question for you guys out there using StarBrite fuel stabilizer: What do you use to measure the correct amount to put into the tank? The last bottle of Stabil had a handy measuring spout built right in, but the StarBrite bottle is opaque with no markings. Last time I used one of those big veterinary syringes, but I don't think the needle I have is long enough to get to the bottom of the bottle. Guess I'll be pouring it into a tin can...

Happy Hump Day, folks!

48°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 72° today. Judging by the iThingie weather widget forecast, this may be our last day in the 70s for quite a while.

This cold has been beating me down the last couple of days. I finally got some more sleep last night, but still tired today. Got home from work yesterday evening to find The Wife had left me a care package on the kitchen table. Guess she's tired of losing sleep as well.

Still haven't fixed the wiring issue on the guitar. Just haven't felt like going down there and messing with it. I did order the new bridge last night, though, from a company called HeadlessUSA that specializes in replacement parts for Steinberger-based guitars and basses (the original Klein guitars used Steinberger hardware). It's the same place whence I got the replacement head piece at the top of the neck. That was a really well-made part, and a much better design than the original stock part. Hoping for the same from the bridge.

They actually have an original Klein guitar available for sale on their website ... for a measly $6395  (which is about $2K less than I've been seeing them on eBay). Still crazy money for a guitar.
