Scrambler, describe what a wine bottle wall is.

I will be using a lot of Wine Bottles...empty of course, I drill a 5/8 or 3/4 inch hole in the bottoms, stack the bottle maybe on a rebar, and put a lot of the stacked bottle together... that in turn makes a wall. So I decided to call it a "Wine Bottle Wall" !
When I finish I will post a picture but don't hold your breath, it isn't on the top of the Honey-Do List..

Right now I hav about 30 each of the same Blue Bottles and the same Amber Bottles. I am going to try to alternate the staked lengths, blue, amber, blue, amber. From there I will see what other colored bottles I can get, chances are that will be the only colors since I have a Winery suppling them.

Next project will a Wine Bottle Chandelier.

Hope that explains what I ma doing.

Nice cover! Thanks for the pics.

No one installs them near me when i looked.

Can it be screened?

Yes,you can do a lot of things.

1) Full Screens
2) Electrically operated Screens
3) Sun Shades
4) Electrically operated Shades
5) Solid Panels, I don't think they are electrically operated but why not roll ups.

nice ride down to shrimp docks, can't believe for second time bag holding shrimp leaked, first time I stunk up my truck for almost two years,
now it leaked on the plastic mat in my Audi. Stupid me forgot to bring a cooler, again. Scrubbed the wet area down with bleach solution and took whole mat out and put it on driveway to bake in the sun tomorrow. Gosh that smell is bad, even though the shrimp have no odor at all.

Went to seafood restaurant for dinner, ok dinner, no waitress service, loud on my echoey ears, kind of glad to get out of there.

Scrambler, I started humming 99 bottles of beer on the wall...;)

Good evening all. 74F for the start, cloudy, moderate south wind. Clouds were breaking up at dawn, wind got to 15to 20 mph and high temp was 90F HI 97. Drive to Greenville for 8AM ride, 46 miles in 3 hours moving time, 35 min. stop time. Lunch at Johnson Street Smokehouse (BBQ) then drive home, nap dinner at VFD fundraiser.
Eric nice looking building, quite the difference from the before pic!
Roy hope you get the dentures worked out quickly.
Drew the blade drive belt by contrast looks new. I have a spare belt for the blade drive but will wait as it is a $40 belt
Don nice finish, the no talking part sounds a bit drastic and reduces the fun.
RNG sounds like you are on the right track, hope that takes care of the CEL.
Jay like the pics of the lake hope it is close.
Drew sorry about the Audi hope the small abatement works.
prayers for all.

LoL, By the time I get through 100 bottles of wine I won't be able to build anything.

Thank God I live in an area with a few Wineries, they don't reuse their bottles and it cost to get rid of them so most are willing to give them away.

The problem is finding a Winery that has the colors you want to use ! I have one that has the Blue Bottles and I like their wine, the Amber bottles are from a Winery where my daughter does their Web Site... so I am guessing both availability and the Wife liking Blue and Amber, the wall color is set.

Anyway, I am gathering the bottles, it will take sometime to get to the project.

I installed two LED Flood Lights, one of them worked out of the box, the other was a little finicky, I had to redo the connections, fool with the Dusk to Dawn Photo Cell, but it came on and worked for one night, that's all folks, it is coming down tomorrow, hope they have another on the shelf. I purchased them at Lowes and they Shelf Stock is low... worried they might be going out of business.

Finished mowing the field with the ZT,. Wind blowing wrong, got covered, and since i was covered, mowed the yard also.

Walked up stairs for first time since GBS, using my better left leg for each step. Actually did it twice. Still scooting down.
Getting better each day, but noticed im walking with left foot turned out. Need to work on that.

Forgot all about trying to get BH on Kubota.

Drank my 2 cups of coffee this morning. Friend reminded me that today was the local car show. After walking it twice I came home and took a nap. Haven't done anything else today.

Haven’t been able to log on TBN all morning. Technical issues I guess.
Did get some brush hogging in this am. Another area done.

Also got my basic sunshade frame installed.
IMG_0796.JPG
Really pleased so far. Height is good, non factor getting in and out.
Now to uninstall, get joints welded, prepped and painted, reinstalled with top.

Had to quit brush hogging after going to far area and getting too close to edge. Dirt there very soft. Was afraid if I tried to drive out it would have slipped over the edge. Probably 50plus ft very steep bank down to the stream. Maybe the guava would have broken fall, maybe not.
IMG_0820.JPG
Hoofed it to the house. Got tow gear, truck, and wife. Had to put Tundra in low low 4wd. Angle was critical not to loose the front over the edge. Got a slight tongue lashing, but wife did a great job driving truck with me perched (standing) on tractor.

Too much excitement - done for the day.

Checking In-

Yesterday’s beautiful weather repeated itself again today. Unfortunately I am/was in no condition to enjoy it and/or do anything other than nap in my easy chair heated by the afternoon sun. I’ve been attributing my dry cough to the second air tube needed/used during my endoscopy last week. I believe now that I have an upper respiratory illness trying to morph “south.” It was a bad night with the night sweats. I woke up early in the AM shaking, freezing cold, and drenched in sweat. I have not been unable to maintain body temperature today even with the temperature in the low 80ºF’s. I’ve been wearing sweats and under a blanket all day.
:(. The OTC expectorant cough medicine is working so far…. My lungs still seem to be clear; my bronchial tubes are clearing. I have not used a steroidal aerosol inhaler in + 5 years. I hope that I do not need one tomorrow or a nebulizer at some “Urgent Care” Center. Once they see my medical history with BOOP they usually freak out and it takes me an excessive amount of time SOB to get the meds that I need while they contact the covering pulmonologist to approve exactly what I am requesting. It’s all in my medical records. I’ve BTDT too many times. I never run fevers with this stuff. I need to find my finger oximeter.

I’ll hopefully be in a better state tomorrow.

David I sm happy to read that you and Sophie were able to extricate your tractor w/o too much excitement.

My + thoughts and prayers/

Great day here also.Hay fever is kicking my butt though. I can only go out for about an hour at a time. Need to start taking meds again. Not much going on here trying to enjoy what's left of summer. Jay-hope you get better soon. BEF- glad you are improving every day, just don't overdo it.
Sodamo-That was a close one-stay safe my friend!
Thomas-only a few more days left and 1 more year for me. congrats!
Hope all is well with the rest of you.

I struggled to wake up this morning. The fingers on my right hand thought still thought they were curled around the handle of a pointing trowel. It was a long day yesterday but at least the snug wall is now done and as requested, here is a proof-of-roof pic, taken yesterday morning.

It won't win any beauty prizes even after I clean off the bricks, but should at least remain standing for a good few years. This is the view from the windows.

You lucky, lucky man. On the occasions when my wife has bought her own present, I have felt simultaneously pathetic and euphoric :) Belated birthday wishes to Mrs Kyle.

My wifey's favorite hobby is the modern equivalent of window shopping....online. She's always looking for deals. Some women just like to see men "sweat" about getting them a pleasing gift. I would have better luck shooting rubber bands at the moon. So my wifey makes it easy on the both of us. She gets what she wants and we both don't have to suffer a fool's errand. :) Maybe you should get your wifey an over/under shotgun like my friend's dad did....that'll teach her.

Bricks looking good. Should have stuck/snuck a few lucky pennys in the mortar. Yes, change hands. Hee hee.

56 going to upper 80s. Summer is back.

Had a special treat yesterday...saw a bobwhite couple herd their chicks into the rose and honeysuckle hedge in our yard from the nearby field. They must have had a late nest as the approximately 8 chicks were tiny. I manage a lot of our land for wildlife, especially hoping to help the quail recover. With the number of foxes, coyote, hawks and bobcats around here, it will be a challenge. But they have lots of cover and food sources.

Summer is back here too, in fact I don't believe it has left. ( I wish I had some of your current summer).. :) All Week looking at temps in the 98F-100F with feels like temps even higher. :(

I like reading about your wildlife/hiking excursions. I bet your place is gorgeous. My friend has left a row of wild rose hedge on his property for decades....all for a covey of bobwhite quail. They usually number only about a dozen birds, year in year out. Fireants are number 1 predator.

49 right now...high about 80.

Chores: Dump run, mow...after that, depends on how I feel.

There were 17 teeth pulled yesterday, including some broken off. The dentures are in...uppers are fine, lowers are chaffing and quite painful.

Ouch. Hope that things smooth out.

Finished mowing the field with the ZT,. Wind blowing wrong, got covered, and since i was covered, mowed the yard also.

Good to hear you are getting better one day at a time. Prayers.

Dave Sodamo, I call those a**hole pucker factor moments. The split nano second you realize you went a nanometer too far over the edge. Glad all is good. I've been meaning to ask, with the Pacific ocean right there, do the prevailing winds bring the storms in from the sea, or away from you?

Randy, hope your keeping that bronchitis in check. Prayers.

Ron, nice car. Yes, TBN was down for a while. Bad Gateway error. Wonder what happened?

The Don, in the money. Shut up and play cards. lol.

J, nice pics. Southern BBQ huh? I saw on a youtube video about some guys from Germany that had been over here in Texas, and went home and made them a large pit on a trailer. They take it to fairs and such in Germany to sell Texas style BBQ. I don't remember what wood they burn. They were making money as long as they had meat to sell.

Prayers for those in need.

Award winning bbq wood is Post Oak. My mom has one in her front yard that needs removing. The trunk is half a cow wide.IMG_3140.JPG

internet overall was slow this morning, bad gateway error for TBN
nice day, very busy with guest, just got dinner cleaned up, made garlic curry shrimp over Caribbean rice,
shrimp was caught yesterday so just yummy, and more tender than frozen store bought.

yesterday had to go in ditch to get out of way of combine, dry weather has combines out harvesting feed corn and soybeans.
What is super pretty to see are the fields of cotton all turning white now.

Jay, take care of yourself and feel better.

Walked to pond today, lower than I've ever seen it. With another ten days of dry weather, I wonder how far down it will go.
I just know there are cases and cases of doubloons down there....;)
Cypress knees always fun to look at, and not trip over

I thought it was just me this AM, not getting in the Site, read some other postings and the Site was having problem.

I tried all of my Icons, all worked except TractorbyNet.com.

Just had an Update on my Operating System, thought it had screwed up.

Glad it is back !
