To Nancy Pelosi and others, that is a full blown assault rifle and should be banned and you should be imprisoned!

I kind of like it.

Nah...it's safe...doesn't have that lethal pistol grip that makes "assault" rifles so deadly.

I took the picture with the (empty) 25 round mag. I use the stock 10 round rotary mag more than the 25 rounders. On that rifle, the extended magazine interferes with my grip of the forearm (doesn't with the Takedown model though).


Well, got my chores done (except for weed trimming) before the rain came in...not much rain though.

The same is here, bacon must be added to all vegetables. If I was a conspiracy type person I would think that the social security people have something to do with it to decrease longevity.

I'm on a kick to help save SS. I thank every smoker and fast food eater I see. Now if we could just get folks to drink and drive more, and not use their seatbelts we could get this thing down to a manageable number. . . . .

Good Evening. At 1915 it's clear, 84F with 77% humidity. Our high was 93F earlier today. Forecast low is 72F with 30% chance of rain tonight. I got out at 1100 and set up 100 chairs under the old oak. Then later had to help change them because wedding planner had changed her mind. My job would be perfect if it wasn't for the customers. I need to get back out there and get the chairs back in the building now that it has "cooled" off.

I got around to the back yard here at work and found a few of the big acorns. Of the three trees, only one still had very many left on the tree. Between deer, hurricanes and Scaggs, not too many to pick up. This year I didn't plant last fall's acorns until spring. I may go ahead and put these in pots soon. That is what they would do naturally right?

The rifle, a 10/22 carbine, had the standard wooden stock. Not a bad looking stock, actually.
The Hogue is a better grip and definitely a better butt pad.
The wooden stock has a barrel band. That's not used with the Hogue stock, so the barrel is free-floating

I finally (after a couple weeks) had the chance to shoot this one. The trigger has a bit longer reset than the Takedown 10/22 I got about 2 months ago.
I ran about 25-35 rounds through it earlier today. Feeds nicely and, I must be getting better with my trigger pull as most of the rounds were centered and pretty well grouped at 15-20 yards.
This rifle was a package deal (Sportsman's Guide) which included a 25 round Ruger magazine, a 3x9 scope and 500 rounds of .22LR. I'll need to buy or borrow a bore sighter to sight in the scope.

Nice rifle, but I'd recommend the 10/22 Takedown over it due to the convenience of carry. I'd like to get a Hogue stock for the Takedown as well...not real enthusiastic about the camo stock that came with the rifle, but there wasn't any choice of stocks available (through Sportsman's Guide).

Good evening all. 70F and rain (.8 in) overnight, 64F for low tomorrow! Made it to 82F light wind and lower humidity. Worked on consulting, billing, new to me pick-up and batteries for golf cart.

67 right now, high was 88. .77 inches if rain today. Low tonight 56.

Took care of birds and calves. Cleaned up the hay in the yard from last weeks bailing. I clogged the baler and had to come home to unclog it. Then worked on the bathroom trim some more. I hate trim.

I did some trim work the other day, don't mind it myself. Just don't ask the wife why i still have some to do in our bathroom going on 18 yrs......

Very pleasant night at this local hotel.

Leisurely day planned as we await fellow travelers to join us from Prague at the AMASerena, the river cruise boat. Boat is moored just a few more minutes walk from us.

Having a typical German breakfast once it opens. I've been happy with coffee and brotchen while in Berlin.

Now that's a good one. Mine wouldn't let it go that long. The only reason I've gotten away with it this long is I've used the "well one kid is always asleep" excuse. It's not really that bad. But after I messed up the third piece out of the seven I tried. I decided to stop while ahead.
