good morning all. Can hear some light showers out now, not much, but going to be a wet day with thunderstorms
this afternoon. 73 going up to 85.
not sure of what's happening today, might mow a little lawn this morning but still have three acres covered in leaves and sticks, waiting for
help to come tomorrow. I'll grind up the leaves, but not the sticks
Tomorrow if my ride works out going to pick up new rv early in morning other side of Raleigh.

Collecting big pile of parts in garage, including a small dehumidifier
to leave in the rig while parked here. If you buy decomposing toilet paper by the case, the expensive rv/boat stuff, it can cost
half, as in one dollar vs two, per roll. I still had half a case left when I sold my travel trailer and gave it to the buyer. I think he was more pleased
with all that TP than he was with most other things...

Haven't heard how far the water came up downtown. Reminds me I have to go downtown to pick up insurance card for rv, so I'll look around.

Good morning all. I've had plenty of time this morning to get a good soaking in the rain, thanks to taking a detour around the big pond to get to what should have been an unoccupied field where something looked to be in trouble. When I got closer I could see it was only a 3 foot long helium balloon that was about to expire. Can't complain if that is the worst thing that happens today. :)

Had to take a long recovery nap yesterday once the grandkids left. Afterwards felt great, so set to felling some alder trees that were growing in the wrong place. They ran alongside an 11kV overhead power line and wouldn't have to grow much taller before I would get fried if something went wrong and they came down in the wrong direction.

Good to see no one suffered too much from Dorian. The jet stream is expected to carry the remnants over the Atlantic later this week, though by then it is hoped it will not be much different to any other wet and windy here-comes-autumn weather.

   / Good morning!!!! #98,805
Hoping rain comes, but cloudy 68 now going to 80.

LS, good luck with your knee.

BEF, let me know...I'll get you some groceries. Hate to see you get ticketed for driving the Ranger on the road. Don't forget, lots of places deliver, too. One of the local grocery chains has set up an "order-online, pick up in the parking lot" process. They took several close-to-the-store parking places to create special lanes to pick up...and have several employees walking the aisles shopping for people. I think it is nice for people with disabilities and maybe a parent with a SUV full of little ones. But, I like the shopping myself. I might try it though...they are offering $20 off a $50 purchase.

Eric, my wife could not find any helium balloons last month when trying to buy an anniversary balloon for her parents. They say helium is running out.

Thinking of you, Ron.

Coffee is done brewing. 55° with light rain this morning. Heading to 72° with clearing skies in afternoon. Got lawn cut and trimmed. Still no seat time. My sister will be here until Saturday. She is helping me sort threw wife's things and give away what other in family can use. Lot bigger job than I thought it would be. There will still be lots lefts to give good memories.

Wngsprd, I know seat time does require tractor seat to get used. But until my sister leaves I will have to settle for lawnmower seat time. :D I do several projects on the list that will give me that time next week.

Buckeye, Randy and LS, hope you get better soon. Prayers sent.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 76˚F heading to only 95˚F with some cloud cover.

The Fire Wise and trail blazing along with cards and pilates this week, a full week.

Had about an hour of Seat time Saturday, thinking of Ron, probably exactly what he needs.

Good Morning. It's 74° and 93% humidity this morning. Forecast says "only" 96° this afternoon. We have possible rain over the next three days. Fingers crossed.

Got the grass cut yesterday finally.

I found a small water leak in O/D kitchen plumbing and that will be the job for today. The main water cutoff valve is covered in silt so I have to uncover it before fixing the leak.

How bout them Astros? 21-1.

LS ... hope you can get you knee replacement soon. My younger brother suffered for years but, had both replaced about 3 years ago. He still doesn't know why he delayed it so long.

Drew ... glad you're finally getting your new RV.

Thomas ..... how many "slow rolls" left?

WNG ..... Helium shortage: Why the world'''s supply is drying up

BEF and Randy making progress day by day.

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

Good morning all! First cup of coffee was a bit too strong - had to soften it up a bit with a wee drop of Baileys. Thanks for the compliments on the garage siding, guys. As we get near the gable ends, the job becomes tougher because of the angles for both sides on every row. Also, the furring strips need to be at least 16 inches apart, and the back up two by threes on the inside gable end trusses are 24 inches apart. So, I have to go in and cut vertical two by fours at the 1 foot spacing, and screw them on the inside of the plywood. More angle cuts!

Meanwhile, we had a frost advisory last night, and it was barely above freezing this morning, and yet they are saying it’s going to get up to close to 100° later this week with the humidex(!) I will believe that when I see it.

Good morning 61 heading to the 70's today.
Nice day at the fair yesterday as an added bonus my son, Daughter in law and grandsons were there, I was standing in front of the tractor display and could hear my 5 year old grandson yelling Granpa I knew I'd see you at the old tractors. Was good I didn't eat any fair food it's all fried.
Drew I did think of you tried to talk my wife into a camper with the end of year and fair deals going on.
BEF bet the seat time on the ZT felt good yesterday, your an inspiration with what you have been doing just be safe.
Well first on the list off to city hall to part with some cash and pay taxes before the line forms.
Thomas that slow roll gets a little shorter Evey day
Stay safe

Kyle. Your daughter has a great talent. But her love for a dry erase board and felt tips could be a sensory thing. We don稚 notice it but I would be willing to bet those pencils on paper cause a vibration in her hands. One that she can稚 stand. If you get a chance to watch the movie about Temple Grandin, or read one of her books. Take it. It痴 eye opening. The movie is enhanced to represent what she hears and feels. While watching the movie my wife and I each looked at each other and said that痴 why our son tore up his ceiling fan.

We are huge fans of Temple Grandin. You and your wife should watch this.

Thats nice the grandkids caught you in front of the tractors. When i was young, one of the funest things at the fair was to sit on the tractors. I still do it, though not this yr. Our fair starts this weekend.

I was taking the ZT up the steepest part of the back hill when i hit a downed piece of limb and the front of the ZT jumped in the air. I was afraid i was going over backwards for a sec. I had roll bar up and belt on. I slowed down after that.

64° And overcast.

PT soon.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

I am loving this late summer/early fall mornings with mostly sunny skies, low temperatures in the 40ºF’s and PM high temperatures in the high 60ºF’s - low 70ºF’s. Summer activities like bumping around on the rider mower 2X/week and garden puttering are slowing down and Winter preparations are beginning. Restful, unbroken sleep remains an unobtainable concept recently; ideal sleeping conditions too :(.

DABSGT- A happy belated congratulations on you and your WIfe’s anniversary. I wish you many more in health and happiness.

Ted- I am happy to read that the “transition” is progressing despite your knee challenges. I am sorry to read about your knee’s bone on bone status. I was talking to a guy who had 2 knee replacements when I was in PT for my knee. He told me that replacing his knees were two of the better decisions that he made. Good luck.

RonJH- I am happy to read that you are active and social.

BEF- I hope that you survive your self-directed home based “PT” and “OT” activities as I survived mine during my “rehab”.;) Good Luck….. I blamed the steroids:)

I hope that everyone on the mend and healing continue mending and healing and those relatively healthy remain healthy.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers,

Good morning to all! Low of 51 this morning, only going up to 82.... Heat finally broke. Low to mid 80's forecast all week. Slight chances of afternoon t-storms.

Went into town yesterday to HD to pick up a few items. Went through the self checkout register. Half of the items wouldn't scan, so the attendant started to scan them with her scanner. Seemed everything then went through. We left and drove all the way home (36 miles). After bringing everything in, realized that 4 pieces of plastic trim (about 18" long) were missing....OH GREAT... Called the store, they said no problem, just come in and get 4 more... Great customer service! ...
Just the cost of gas for another 72 mile round trip... Those $1.98 trim pieces now cost me $4.50 each....oh well...have to have them to complete a project. I'll double check my purchases for sure from now on...

Hope everyone healing continues to do so without issue.

Drew, good luck getting your RV! Make sure you post some pics.

Saw on the news this morning about a "car freighter" capsizing in a port off Georgia. Not sure if there were cars on board or not...supposed to hold 3200 vehicles. 4 crew are still missing.

Check, nice siding job. Well worth the trouble to get it done.

DABSGT, Happy belated anniversary! Somehow it missed it previously. We just celebrated our 36th... I had laughed out loud when reading about the decision whether to buy a sympathy card.... Wifey asked what I was laughing about and when I told her she said: "don't get any smart-arzz ideas". That was definitely a good one....

Jay, glad to hear about all your summer adventures.... Well deserved! I wish I could go canoeing or kayaking.... Nearest lakes / areas are a couple hours away....almost too much trouble for a day trip. Got my hands full doing this transition anyway.

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers sent for all!

Pt went well. She had me go up and down 1 step. I didnt tell her i set into ranger every day, and stepped up onto mower yesterday.

I walked length of house and back. I guess i need to start walking more with walker instead of wheeling some of my trips.

Now to contact work about my missing pay..

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 7:15 AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 83F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. The 10-day calls for eighties early this week, and back into the nineties by the weekend, then cooling again the following week. Summer is still going strong here, but not excessively.

As usual, you folks have been very busy the past few days, and I'm glad to see Dorian passed without too much damage, and that those in recovery are still making progress. Also glad to hear you have a direction for the knee, Ted. My traveling buddy the past few days has knee issues as well, but his doctor is encouraging him to hold off on replacements as long as possible because the technology is improving so rapidly.

The trip went very smoothly, with good roads, good, but warm, weather, and good camaraderie in camp. Something like fifty people/bikes in attendance, with many hands pitching in for the various chores and food prep. I rinsed dishes each night, and we ate lodge food in the mornings. Yesterday the temps when we got up were in the forties, so we ate at a nearby lodge I hadn't visited before. It sat next to a very pretty lake, and the meal was buffet style, so no one went away hungry.:D Couple more bugs to iron out on the bike, but nothing major, and it continues to please in the handling and power departments.

Fun time's over, and need to get focused back on getting the rest of the fire damage cleared away and getting over the hurdles with the building department on the solar system. The civil engineer made the requested changes to our agreement and hopefully will have his part done in the next couple of weeks.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning. Sunny, 88F with 69% humidity. {heat index of 102F} Forecast high low of 98/76F with 0% chance of rain today, 10% tonight and 20% tomorrow. Yesterday's high was 101F. I think it was a new record high, but not sure how that works. The wunderground station is a couple three miles outside Altha, and only been there a year or less. I was after dark heading out to the camp. The heat index was 98F, and it didn't really cool off until daylight.

I was stuck at work on Saturday with no wifi. I actually read a thrift store book that had been on my shelf for about five years. The Known World by Edward P. James. https://www.amazon.com/Known-World-Edward-P-Jones/dp/0060557559 It's set in 1850's Virginia on plantations owned by free blacks. It's an interesting look into a side of the slave trade that doesn't get much press.

Worked until 0130, so ended up sleeping away Sunday, when I wasn't watching F1.

The roofers came this morning. A two day job to reskin one shed and roof both of them. It will be 11 months to the day tomorrow when they finish.

Happy anniversary Dab. Prayers to those in need.

Hope everyone has a good day.

64°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 92° today. Supposed to stay in the 90s most of the week, through Thursday. Summer doesn't want to let go here just yet.

Got most of the grass mowed Saturday, then took the long walk with the line trimmer. My back was none too happy about that later in the day, but it had to be done. The replacement drive spring for the ztr came in Saturday's mail, but I haven't been back out to the barn to change it yet. Probably do that after work tonight.

Rained much of the day Sunday, with some heavy storms on the leading edge followed by a light steady rain for about four hours. That pretty much cancelled any outdoor plans. Got the rest of my studio clutter sorted, and spent a little time messing around with some previously recorded tracks. Wife did the Sunday cook-enough-food-to-feed-Ethiopia thing, making meals for most of the week ... which included a delicious lemon cake with lemon icing. She is entirely too good to me.

One of the things I had to modify in the studio was the airflow. It seems like it's always too cold in there. Even with the vent closed, there is still air coming out, so I decided to get one of those magnetic vent covers. Those things probably work great on the floor, but not so much on the ceiling. Just not quite enough umph to hold it in place when the air is blowing. They were $7 for a pack of three from the local Ace hardware store, so I was going to take them back. But then I remembered a few people talking about how strong those little rare earth magnets are from Harbor Freight. So, I took a drive there Saturday and picked up a pack of them. Strong is an understatement. I chuckled at myself trying to pry them apart. They definitely hold the weak magnet cover in place.

Vent Cover Magnets.JPG

Happy Anniversary, DABSGT.

That's going to be a sweet-looking building, check.
