Good morning, another one of those "less than 10%", yet in reality quite wet starts to the day. Looks like my thoughts of spraying will have to wait for another day.

Ginger and Willow's features look quite similar to Max. He is Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix too.

Max is the first small dog we've had. Although he often acts like a sheepdog, much of his behaviour, such as stealthily stalking through long grass, then freezing for minutes before pouncing, is more like a cat than a dog. Do others do that too ? Does Brogen purr ? :)

66 going to 89. Storms missed us yesterday, too, except for a few drops and the wonderful smell of rain in the air nearby as the cool winds blew in. Sorry to hear about the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Good news on your ear, Buppies. Are you now wearing a SPF cowboy style hat on the job?

Great dog pix and match-ups, guys...is there an app for that? TractorDogsOnly.com :) Your dogs look so happy.

Eric, my Chesapeake Bay Retriever will hide and crouch in a pounce-stance outside, or in the house, waiting for a tennis ball or Frisbee to be thrown. She does this pointing out where the ball is, sometimes 20 yards away, but making it easy to find it. Now that I think of it, maybe I'm the retriever, at least to get started with the first throw.

Used my battery reciprocating saw to prune the highest branches on a big crepe myrtle that died from the 7F temps last winter. Figured that was safer than taking the chainsaw up the 12 foot fiberglass ladder. That ladder has really put on the pounds since the last time I lugged it around the property. Saw worked well, but had so much to do that I had to recharge the two batteries before finishing. Welcomed that pause, since it was 92 and 1pm direct sun by the time I got started.

Hope to read progress on those of you ailing.

Don, did you go spelunking?

Wngsprd always wear wide brim hat with zinc oxide as doctor continues to say these are coming from long ago

Is is a shame about parkway they have no money to fix these things back up

Good morning! 76˚F heading to the hundreds. Last two day were 100 days and the next ten are suppose to hit 100 to 103.

I got some wax to wax the car in the early morning but it says to apply in a cool temperature. I have a question to the manufacture to define "cool" - a Texas "cool" or a Michigan "cool". My drive is in the shade till 9am so I have a small window of morning temps under 85˚F.

Wingspread we went on one of the trail caves last week there are two trails more to explore. The rugged ones are not lit and you are given a flashlight. There are several areas where the ceiling as fallen in but they say it happened long ago. It was too hot to do more truck exploring yesterday, may start back up in September. Hundreds of people have fled the city of sun on vacation to cooler states and Mountain areas. It seems a lot have summer homes up North. We are staying behind and watering their plants.

Buckeye, good report on your progress, slowly but surely you will get back to normal - don't get frustrated on the pace.

Randy you are in the race with Buckeye to get back to normal, hang in there and keep a good mental attitude.

My Horticulture SIG leader reported a large turtle crossing his yard. it was 4' in diameter and 4' high heading to the creek at last sighting.

Our Whipper - German Shorthaired Pointer (mostly) is not a rescue dog that we rescued from a breeder. Whipper insist she rescued us when she just showed up in our field very skinny from chasing coyotes and needing a porch to sleep on and guard us from the pesky wildlife - coyotes, snakes, hogs, deer, cows, rabbits, raccoons etc . . . (now in her retirement role as golf marshall and human walker)

Morning to all today,
Getting ready for some seat time in the pickup today.
Heading to Jacksonville NC.
A small get to for my sun in law
Back from a deployment so going to celebrate the birthdays and anniversary that he missed.
Haven't decided yet the actual route I'll be going as I really dislike driving in DC and Baltimore, actually anything south of Albany NY along the coast till I'm well south.
Be going out west on 88 to 81 and haven't really decided when to start East and south from 81.
Does add a few hours to the trip but driving in the day the view is nicer along 81 rather the 95.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 54° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 80° with bright sun all day. Got lawn cut yesterday. Took wife in for a sleep test yesterday evening. Picked her up early this morning. Only slept a short time all night. Need to go do some grocery shopping. Also have a solar motion light to mount. Old one died. Trim drive and walkways. That should be enough for today.

Buppies, good news on biopsy.

Buckeye and Randy. Keep getting better.

Eric, a dog that purrs? Muffin has never been a noise maker dog. But Sassy has a grunting noise she makes when playing and excited. She also has a very sharp bark when she wants your attention.

Wngsprd, be careful while climbing the ladder.

Lou, safe travels.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

77° here. Welcome to august.

Got my first shower this morning, using shower bench. That was my OT session today. Again, little sleep.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 96F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Is it the kind of wax you apply, wait a bit for it to haze up, then wipe off, Don? If so, hot temps, or more specifically, hot surfaces, make that kind dry too quickly and it becomes difficult to remove. If it were me, I'd try some in an out of the way spot and if it works OK, do the rest. Otherwise, you could always wait 'till next winter...

Glad that they got that one soon enough, Buppies.

Gonna share driving goof videos with us here on the GMT, Paul? Drew? Can't wait!

It's a sad day indeed when you have to pick the color of your tractor by the service rendered by the dealership instead of what the tractor will do, Drew. But then we frequently observe here how the art of service has long since been lost in so many other business areas in this country.

Good to hear you're still riding your GS, Dennis. You're an inspiration to us younger pups!

Started rounding up the paperwork to apply for a RealID driver's license yesterday by stopping into the bank to raid my safe deposit box. For the second time in a row, there were almost no customers there, very unusual because up until recently the line always had dozens of people in it. I'm not complaining, but if other people have done as I have and migrated most of their financial business to other banks, I'll lose my safe deposit box, and there don't seem to be any as large in town. Maybe my luck will continue at the DMV today when I go in for the RealID.

Hang in there gang, Friday's comin'!

Good morning. It was 73°F this morning with 90% humidity and no wind. Forecast is for 98°F this afternoon.

I'm planning on more tree trimming this morning till it gets too hot. Then put the grapple back on the LS to pickup all the branches, from yesterday and today.

The free replacement earmuffs, for my 3M Worktunes, came in the mail yesterday so. will replace the deteriorated ones. They just snap on and off. 3M has great product support.

Buppies .... that's good news on your biopsy.

BEF ..... a shower is a big step forward.

Randy .... hope you making progress too.

Wng .... careful climbing. We've got a Ridgid battery recip. saw that uses same 18V batteries as our other Ridgid tools and very handy for trimming.

Don ..... our temperatures are a great excuse to delay car waxing until October.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers to all.

60°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 83° today. I believe this is what they call Chamber of Commerce Weather. Very unusual to be this mild in late July and early August. But, we'll take it.

Safe travels, Mike.

Nice to read some good news, Buppies.

Lou, I worked on a pipe organ at a Lutheran Church in Baltimore (Overlea/Raspeburg area) on a couple of occasions, so I can appreciate your unwillingness to drive through there.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A rather pleasant 58ºF for today’s low; a tolerable 77ºF presently due to lower humidity; and I expect today’s high to max out around ~80ºF later today. I got a reprieve from culture yesterday and ended up grilling portobello mushroom pizzas for dinner. Today it does appear that I will subjected to “art.”:( Brogen is on a “hunger strike” expecting 2 eggs over easy with his morning feed. I knew giving him those eggs was a mistake the other day and would be remembered and expected. Sooner or later he’ll get hungry enough;) At ~160#’s he could still lose a little more weight.

Ted- Strangely Nissan trucks are not that common around here and not that many dealerships close by either. I think I’ll wait until compact truck models are on the market. I hope taking it “easy” on your knee continues as your son and family settle in.

Mike- I wish you safe travels.

Bruce- I have seen some really bizarre exhibits at this museum in the past. I really can not grok most of this stuff. At least the abandoned mill is being put to good use and there are a couple of decent restaurant in the area.

“… Does Brogen purr ?”- Eric He would probably try if he thought it would get him those eggs over easy again. He pants, passes gas, snores, moans, whines, and sighs if he wants something. He rarely growls and/or barks.

Buppies- I am happy to read that this recent biopsy was precancerous. You have been a + influence for me related to sun and skin care.

Billy- I often wonder who is training who when it comes to dogs. I will not cook him eggs today.

I hope that everyone on the mend continues to mend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

If my paint job is good enough I can put the TuffTop canopy back together. Quick trip to PO this morning.

Be safe
Have a great day

After sweating through two shirts, sure enjoyed my shower but not as much as Buckeye.

Buppies, it's a tough way to lose weight, they just keep chopping away at us. I have scars all over...when you get melanomas they
don't fool around with hauling off parts of your body. Avoid please...

Have a good trip Mike, have some fun over there.

lot of good looking dogs visiting.
met my new neighbor today, young lady named Katie. 8 weeks old, what a cutie.
Whining and barking in a shed near me, I can definitely hear her when outside, separation anxiety at work, but they
have a baby that needs to sleep and won't with the dog making noise. Just got email from wife apologizing for noise,
I'm delighted actually they got a dog. Wish they had one last year to keep the rabbits out of my garden.

time to get some small dog bones I guess. Going to take my last two mini watermelons over later this afternoon and share them, a little
watermelon party. They honestly aren't wild about the non gmo stuff because of all the seeds. Clearly we are spoiled on seedless
watermelons.

Lou, I'll wave from the East as you go by, travel safely

went down and checked on the burn pile, finally got it burned this morning, now that was fun in the heat.
Sooner or later I'm going to have to clean that out.
Installed the new wheel on the mower deck, powerwashed entire front of house and front deck, and said I quit.

Sounds like you got Ginger out of a bad place. She's fortunate to have been cared for. I'm betting the rest of the pups didn't fare as well.

Lots and lots of bikers go to the ROT rally. I haven't been since the late '80's early '90's.

Yes and we're fortunate to have such a loyal creature in our family. I phoned the woman after Ginger was diagnosed. She denied her dogs were sick. I asked her if she knew how Parvo was transmitted. It was futile and you're right. It is likely few if any of those pups survived.

The ROT was mostly a noisy, straight pipe bunch who often misbehaved during the nighttime hours and rode their H-D V Rods with rear tires smoking up and down the streets of Austin. I enjoyed the restaurants mostly and was amazed at how a H-D could convert gasoline into so much noise with such a severe lack of performance. Of course, I demanded my H-D friends ride behind me (noise abatement) when we travelled from Houston to the event. My BMW was (still is) so quiet that most couldn't hear it running when we were waiting at a stop light.
