Good morning!!!!

Good morning! 68 now, likely 76 for a high of today. Rained several times yesterday and last night. Flooding in a nearby county.

Thoughts to everyone is are ailing and healing.

I conserved energy yesterday. Was tired from Friday and Saturday outside work, then helping at the race Saturday night.

But the race was worth it.....he got his 1st podium ever in a major race! There were 54 riders in the 450 Amateur class and he finished 3rd behind the 2 kids acknowledged to be the best riders in the class. And kid in 2nd had his hands full. Johnny made him earn it. We had the Yamaha handling incredibly well. The Amateur nationals start tomorrow, may take the day off and go help.

Everyone have a safe and good day.

Good to hear your protoge is coming along. Hope you're having fun with it. Having success would sure make it funner for me.

That story has a big shark ending. Sorry, didn't get video of my son. Had my phone in the dry storage of the boat. Anyway, I didn't even try to fish. I was busy teaching my kids how to fish. But one got a better lesson from a fish than from me! :)

Sad to report that Chris Kraft passed away today at age 95. Glad he got to see the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11.

RIP.

A great American.

Not a good morning. Much weaker. Got ot and pt evals today. Treatment 4 today. dr says no published docs on success of 2nd round of treatment. I might just be in for a long slow recovery.

Losing upper body strength.

So sorry. I pray that each day from here on, you get a bit better, until you get back to full strength.

73 today high of 76 later. Stays below 85 for next few days. Nice.

Took youngest son to allergist yesterday. He had allergy testing done and that unfortunately came back negative. Doctor and us was hoping for some positive reactions. He has a mucus problem that we have been fighting for over 2 years. Waiting for him to out grow it or to get old enough for testing. Always suspected allergies because of family history. Doctor says she’s stumped. So she’s sending us to a pediatric pulmonologist. For lung testing and to see what’s going on. He’ll be 3 next week.

Met with the excavator operator this morning. He’ll be here next week to clear ground for the fences to the chicken coops. Will be bringing a 315L Caterpillar in. Looks like we’ve got about 40 hours of work planned out for him. While on our walk around he had me call the local power company to inform them of a dangerous tree. It’s big, living rotten, and right on their power line. Said he wasn’t comfortable messing with it, and to have them top it below their lines. Then he’d get it out. Power company said they’d come evaluate it.

Drew when’s delivery?

Prayers for your son. Do the chickens put off a lot of dander or something that could cause it? Have you tried really good HVAC filtration with either static grates or UV light (or both)? Static takes out dust and UV can kill a lot of airborne stuff.

Must be some crazy fence lines to clear. Got any "small" projects needed while he's there???

Drew, come on by!

I just had to put a new SDD harddrive in my mom's computer. Her 750G barracuda was giving a "smart" alarm saying it was about to crap out. Bought a 240G Sandisk for $40. Anyway, had to borrow a data cable to hook it up simultaneously and used a Sandisk piece of software to clone. Once I had everything in place, it went smooth. I had tried a system image and restore, at first to do it, but forget that. I could do it in a matter of an hour or 2 now.

Just got back home from IAH Bush Intercontinental. Picked up my wife and daughter. Glad to have them back home.

Back to work tomorrow.

I've been watching a very lengthy series on WWII on Amazon Prime. Countdown to Victory. The Ultimate Timeline.

In a James Burke "connections" type way, the UK has Japan to thank (for bombing Pearl Harbor), bringing America out of it's isolationism. We declared war on Japan. ****** declared war on us. We returned the declaration, and the Brits were partying that day, for us joining the war. The rest is history. I'm glad things turned out how they did.

That being said, I'm a huge Winston Churchill fan.

On another topic.... The Russian's did put sputnik in orbit first. We got first pick of German scientists associated to their rockets, Verner Braun, the top guy. But the rusky's also got some of the scientists too, which they used to get their space program started. The rusky's stuff was very crude, and they simultaneously sent a unmanned craft to the moon, to get a lunar sample at the same time we sent MEN. Real men. I remember Walter Cronkite taking off his glasses live (and going whew), when they finally touched down on the moon, after an alarm and some hairy moments. IMO, it was by the grace of God that they made it home safely. A feat, in which no other country on any continent has been able to accomplish since. So yes, I do have a bit of pride on the subject. And our astronauts did their best to make sure that the whole world felt pride.

Another topic, my FIL was/is an petroleum engineer. He actually went to work in Yemen, where all the oilfield equipment was from Russia. He told me he had seen so many dangerous failures of communist made equipment, that he always felt unsafe when near it.... he was later car jacked by guys with sub machine guns and decided he'd had enough. Just saying that Ruskies don't make the best stuff under communism.

Thall, your note was not congruent with the ways of Good Morning.

My post was not meant to scold anyone, just expressing the pride that our country has earned.

Good evening to all on good morning! Low went to 57 this morning, went up to a nice 85.

Finally got out to weedwack, some of those weeds grew to have 1/2" stalks! Almost went to get the brush cutter attachment, but the weedwacker was able to get through them. Used .105 "tri-cut" line. Worked really well, didn't break off, and chopped up those weeds like a quisinart! The .105 is the largest line the trimmer can use, but it really puts a load on the engine. I'll probably go back to .80, a whole lot less loading.

We had a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms today, one finally materialized about 6 pm. Dumped a bunch of rain about a 1/4 mile from us. We got maybe ten drops.... Disappointing, we are really dry. I did get a few pics of the clouds clearing out....

We have increased chances of t-storms Thursday and Friday, hopefully we'll get some rain then.

Drew, not very close to La Grange(about 300 mile), 45 min north of Bird.
Farmer praying for your son.
To set a goal then that high, then pull it off took a lot of effort. Wish we could use some of that with today's problems:confused3:

Finally managed to get all my screens done, 3 patio doors, 2 windows. I really suck at the spline thing. Had to do 1 door 3 times as I kept cutting the screen with the spline tool. What also took time was these doors have a lower barrier I made from vinyl lattice to protect from the dog noses. The old ones had to be disassembled, cleaned, screws painted and new aluminum supports made before reassembling. Of course all tracks cleaned and siliconed.

The 2 window screens are from 2 smallish (2’x2’) windows in the eave peak for cross ventilation. Each screen had about 1 1/2” diameter hole in lower corner. Furry critter access? Cut some 1/2” metal fabric to size, painted, framed with tile cap and screwed to outer surface before reinstalling. Wife pleased.

Took wife to town tonight and splurged on lobster dinner. Her pleasure definitely worth the price. I enjoyed it too
