Good morning TBN!!
47 this morning and warming from the sunny sky. Should be approaching 80 again

I tinkered with the back up 4x2. Cleaning more of the connections up and hooked it to the charger.
Have the buggy harness on the table and I feel good about what I have done. Putting it on the buggy may change that perspective.
Also my Win 11 computer came in but haven't opened it yet. That will take a good chunk of a day to get it the way I like.
We ended up going to the Linville Gorge (Wisemans View) last night to stargaze. We had a good time despite the windy conditions and road surface. It was a lot better then the first time where we had to get out and build portions of the road to get through. If anyone has been on Old 105 knows what I am talking about. Got in well past my bedtime so right to bed when we got back. Wife was happy.

Time for a second cup
Wveryone have a great and safe day!!

Morning all, 42 going up to 62 and sunny.
Needed to put in 2 t-posts, ground is so hard and dry that using the tractor they were starting to bend vs. go in. These are the thick metal ones. Last time I tried to use the tractor they went in easily. Ended up on a ladder with my 4lb sledgehammer to get them in a bit more.
That ground is dry and like a rock.

We were able to get tickets to see John Cleese at the Keswick theatre, I have always wanted to see him.

Happy birthday Buppies , hoping you and Holly get some more good memories.

Wow Sodamo, a cab, so does that mean you can mow in the rain :)

One of our neighbors had a big party last weekend. For the weeks leading up to the party they set up a couple of huge tents, then spent a few weeks building a large aluminum platform which looked to be about 100' square. Then came the walls and ceiling, all clear plastic panels.
This thing was larger than most houses around here. On the day of the party, they had 4 tour buses show up with the guests and had a live band. The spread had to be over an acre and lots of trucks in/out for weeks to build it up.
I have to check and see how fast they break it back down.
Bet that cost more than most people make in a year. The guy that owns that land is pretty famous in the medical world.

Be well,

Good Morning! 55˚ F heading to 90˚, mostly clear skies, no rain, very dry. Windows are open this morning! Water bill surpassed electric bill last month, just to replace evaporated pool water and to keep the grass and plants alive.

Started a new walk routine after a study was done of the benefits - intervals - 3 minutes of regular walking, 3 minutes of fast walking times 6.

Hand and foot cards board shows I'm still in first place but hasn't been updated since mid September. The "Keeper of scores" took a cruise to Hawaii, got pneumonia and was hospitalized, He should be out by this week and maybe will catch up by Monday.

Happy Birthday Buppies!!!

David have fun with your new tractor. Is it a "replacement tractor" or a "Don't have to of change implements" tractor?

35F and sunny @ 08:00, heading up to around 63F (maybe ?) for the day's high. LWS reports this morning's low temp was 35.2F. Maybe a just little bit of light frost from what I can see.

Coffee is made and tasting mighty good.

Got previous Menards order unloaded first thing yesterday, 3 bags of bird seed (was on sale), 1 bag of cracked corn and 1 bag of whole corn, 2 boxes of cat litter, 100' roll of 4' welded wire fencing ... plus the roll of fence wire and some insulators from TSC.

Got 1 bag of bird seed, and the bags of cracked and whole corn put away into their storage containers.

Once that was done we headed down to Menards to pick up the new water heater. Also picked up paint thinner and a pair of heat trap nipples as I wasn't sure if the heater came with those or not. Plus 6 furnace filters.

Girl working the pickup desk was either having a bad day or just had a bad attitude.

Got everything unloaded when we got back, strapped the new water heater to the pallet forks and took it around back and then wheeled it inside the basement with the two wheeler after clearing a path to the utility room.

While I was doing that I noticed there is another 3 Honey Baby winter squash waiting to be picked out at the southwest corner of the house. There's another 2 still over on the east side, along with another Hubbard Blue, a Hubbard Golden, and the Guatemalan Blue on the arched trellis. Plus some pumpkins.

The California Wonder red bell peppers The Woman picked green the other day are now turning red.

Drug the garden hose in from outside and hooked it up to the old water heater and started that draining.

Woman headed down to the Chinese place and picked up my dinner and grabbed a couple of pieces of chicken for Herself at the grocery store which is next door. Also baked up a Waltham Butternut squash for desert.

I got the lobster egg foo young, an egg roll and some Won Ton egg drop soup. Was pretty tasty.

Then spent the evening on the couch before hitting the rack early (23:00)

Slept like a rock ... probably on account of only getting a few hours the night before.

Probably spend some time inside this morning working on getting the old water heater disconnected and collecting up tools for that project until it warms up outside ... then head outside and get back onto straightening up fence posts and get them tamped in.

This will likely not please The Woman ... as She would prefer everything else gets ignored until the new water heater is installed.

But rain is due in on Sunday so only have the nice weather for a limited time. Big cool down on the backside of the Ten Day ... highs only in the upper 50's. Will about time to begin thinking about ending the season and start tying up loose ends outside.

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Happy Birthday to Buppies !

Hope everyone is having a decent Thursday ... (y)

Good Morning
Started out at 42° and sunny. Going to stay clear and get to the middle 60’s with a nice breeze.

Yesterday’s breakfast was typical, identified many world issues, solved none. After that I picked up the chafing dish pan from the firehouse I brought them the pulled pork in.

Next stop was to pick up my friend to come along for the ride to pick up the Citation.
He got a more interesting ride than he expected, on landing in Newburgh, the nose wheel tire went flat on the plane we flew up in (a C310).

We slowly made it off the runway, and stopped on a taxiway once we were clear of the runway. The tower dispatched airport ops to come figure out how to proceed.
I expected a grumpy cigar chewing George Kennedy, but to my surprise, a bubbly young woman hopped out of the airport vehicle with a vivacious smile.

We quickly formulated a plan to have the plane towed to the Citation service center with a wheel lift tug that picks the nose wheel off the ground. My partner waited with the plane while she gave my friend and I a ride to the service center across the airport via taxiways and crossing runways. She couldn’t have been more helpful.

I took care of the paperwork, and had the plane plugged into a ground power unit so I could power it up and do database updates. The disabled plane made it to the service center about the time I was done.

The bad news was that the service center wasn’t authorized to work on the small plane and had no parts. However they lent us tools and a jack to remove the nose wheel which we took with us in the jet.

I had a new inner tube in stock and changed it last night, my partner is going back in a rental car to reinstall it and fly it back. He has an antique ChrisCraft that’s being restored at Lake Hopatcong, which is on the way, so will stop and check on that as well.

I got home considerably later than I planned, but my welcome committee was ready and waiting for me.

Not sure what the plan is for today, but I’m not concerned about being bored.
