Good morning! 68 now, likely 76 for a high of today. Rained several times yesterday and last night. Flooding in a nearby county.

Thoughts to everyone is are ailing and healing.

I conserved energy yesterday. Was tired from Friday and Saturday outside work, then helping at the race Saturday night.

But the race was worth it.....he got his 1st podium ever in a major race! There were 54 riders in the 450 Amateur class and he finished 3rd behind the 2 kids acknowledged to be the best riders in the class. And kid in 2nd had his hands full. Johnny made him earn it. We had the Yamaha handling incredibly well. The Amateur nationals start tomorrow, may take the day off and go help.

Everyone have a safe and good day.

good morning all. Yup, another hot one, 78 going to high 90's today. One more day of this...

taking some okra and cukes down to food pantry to free up room in fridge, my neighbors like my mild hot peppers so much
not many last to make it to the pantry. I really like stuffed peppers, wonder what a stuffed poblano would taste like?
Off my diet, no hot stuff at all...

Buckeye, hope things improve today. Sounds like one of those two steps backwards, five forward deals, time to go forward!

big day today, after getting foot lasered, off to a new barber I've never been to. My existing barber is selling out, retiring, and frankly is losing it,
he's bit my ear with his clippers at least half the times I'm there. What's weird is the same thing happened to my barber in PA, who cut my hair for 60 years.
He got dementia on the job and would get confused half way through the haircut. Maybe all that standing around and lack of physical activity is an issue??...

parts of the lawn need mowing but so hot and dry will have to wait. Expect heavy storms tomorrow, will mow after them.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 77° with partly cloudy skies. Power went out for a while yesterday. Generator started as designed. From the 2 storms that passed thru here Thursday and Friday evening. Over 300,000 homes lost power. Some may not get power until late tomorrow. Decided to cut lawn yesterday. Now I need to do some trimming and weed pulling.

Drew, pins that are used on my sway bars that position lower links had hair pin clips. When cutting fields one or both would be missing. Now a day I do not use the hair pin clips to hold pins in place. Have never lost a pin. Glad you caught that you had a missing pin. I put linchpins like go on end of lower 3ph arms. 3/16" is smallest size I think. If they do not fit the hole in pin I drill out the holes.

Don, you need to make a copy of the farm compass on your patio.

Kyle, no pictures of your son falling into water. Just another fish story.:D

Buckeye, hope the procedure is working this time. Prayers sent.

Randy, remember to take the cane with you when moving around. Prayers sent.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 4:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 102F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Good luck at the new barber's today, Drew. Had one of those ear nippers when I first moved up here; ended up with my current barber, who is significantly younger than me. Should out last me, if he doesn't move somewhere else...

That's good news from the race track, Rich. Hope it continues.

Friday started with a pair of HUGE burritos at a little restaurant called Jenn's in Oroville. I'd never been there before, but the reviews were good, and for once, they were accurate, too. My buddy was a little early, and so was I, and even though we took our time eating, we couldn't finish the things. Wrapped 'em up in foil for later. The new road I'd spotted on Google Maps did turn out to be paved, just barely, with a good number of large potholes thrown in to keep things interesting. One I missed in the shadows caused my windscreen and satellite radio antenna to go flying off, but my buddy was able to retrieve the screen and a wire saved the antenna. I think that same pothole caused him some tire trouble, slightly unseating the bead on his rear wheel and causing a leak we had fixed the next day in Quincy. A couple dozen people showed up for the campout, and our host cooked burgers for our dinner. We reheated our burritos the next morning in the BBQ, and they were once again delicious. The day's ride was into the mountains, and we enjoyed the cool air and sunshine, visiting a pair of high alpine lakes and finding some gravel roads so my friend could try out the dual sport capabilities of the new-to-him bike he was riding. After the tire repair, we hit a local grocery store for fillets and fresh corn, then skedaddled back up the mountain to camp and dinner. Those steaks drew a lot of attention from those dining on hamburger again. I'd forgotten my friend's bike still had a small tank the day before and he'd arrived at camp on fumes, so it was back to town for breakfast and gas the next morning. Another great meal, then home down the Feather River canyon, always a great ride. Finished the day with a nap and shower, still not hungry after the big breakfast.

Gonna start chipping away at the house paint today, working by ladder until it gets too hot, then inside for paperwork the rest of the day. Probably spend most of the week like that; it's supposed to be in the high 90s and low 100s all week.

Hope recovery comes with the new week for those ailing, and the rest of you get off to a great start!
