Good morning!!!!

67°F and rain this morning, going up to 82° today. A nice respite from the last two weeks of intense heat and humidity.

Unfortunately, the gully-washer storms this morning caused traffic issues all over the area. You'd think after 100+ years of driving, people would know by now not to drive that fast in pouring rain, and not to try to drive through flowing water. And yet ...

Got the holes in the driveway filled back in Saturday morning, washed out from the heavy rains late last week. Shoveled and moved two wheelbarrows full of gravel. By the time I was done, I had so much sweat running down my face and the inside of my glasses that I couldn't see at all. That was enough for one day. Spent the rest of the day in my nicely air conditioned home studio.

Sunday morning I took a walk with the line trimmer. Finished knocking down the tall stuff in the bog area, and took a walk around the fence lines and various mowing obstacles in the back yard. Same result; stopped when I couldn't see anymore. Man, I'm tired of summer already, and it's still only July.

Spent much of the rest of the day Sunday doing updates on the studio computer. I bought it used, and it showed the last update for Windows 8.1 was in early February. There was quite a list of updates, so I chose all but one and let it go. Took way longer than it should, but got it done. Also loaded a couple of updates on the recording software (DAW - Digital Audio Workstation). That took all of about 30 seconds total, for download and run time. Amazingly, everything seems to still work as it's supposed to.

Best wishes for those on the mend. Hang in there, BEF.

BEF, and others in need, prayers this morning.

Power outage played heck with my fancy thermostat, I felt it getting hot and looked to find it sitting on 85 Auto Heat! Back up batteries tested good. Three more power blips and everyone of them reset it to heat and mid 80s.
It cost way too much to act that kind of goofy!

Trying to wash clothes today, struggling a bit but I think I will get the job done. I did cook my breakfast and clean up. Slowly getting there.

94/112 at noon, hopefully the last day of the killer heat. Calling for 77 tomorrow, I can’t wait.

".... Slowly getting there."- Randy I am happy to read that you are seeing progress.

With the rain the temperature has dropped down to 68ºF with decreasing temps and more rain and possibly a T-storm later = turned off the A/C, opened some windows, and got the ceiling fans working.

Wifey's on her weekly supply run. I need to try to straighten up the house before Wifey returns and/or our friends showing up for some cold ones and a simple dinner here tonight. "Straightening up" for me is moving some piles of stuff around to a less visible place, vacuuming up dog hair, and making sure I have no articles of clothing laying on the floor somewhere.

I see lots of lawn mowing, string trimming, and gardening in my future once things dry out tomorrow.

The men and women that built our space program, from a 13# baseball sized satellite that collapsed on the launching pad, to the most powerful rocket that carried three men to the moon in just over ten years, were the best God created.

Good evening all. 76F this morning, partly cloudy, light breeze. Sky clouded up cleared off then clouded up again but no rain. Wind changed to north, got brisk for a bit then slowed back down, high temp 90F. Bike ride this morning, the 28 tire have less rolling resistance than the 38 gravel tire, heart rate lower and time faster. Mowing after ride got half the lawn done and trash guy had already come :). Will put of the front half till closer to Monday. nap after shower to finish afternoon. No word on cart delivery yet.
