It was 70°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 90° today. It's 88° already. Not morning here anymore, but it's still morning somewhere, right?

Got the pasture mowed yesterday, along with a bunch of morning errands. Wife was off all day to a dog show over in Missouri. She's demonstrating a deaf dog (a double merle Border Collie) that we've been fostering for about six weeks now. She trained it using sign language (ASL), and did two half-hour demonstrations in the main ring, which she said were a big hit. Back over today for another show, so I'm bach'n it again today.

I need to get the line trimmer out and finish knocking down the tall stuff in the front bog area, but I'm just not feeling inspired today. Thinking this might be an energy conservation day.

Glad they got you sorted out, BEF, and on to treatment. From what I've read, there appears to be a very high recovery rate.

Good to hear from Randy as well. Glad things are looking up, and congrats again on the marriage.

Nice to see the new LS working out for you, David.

Going into Highland to scare up some tacos.

Again thanks all for on retirement wishes...10/13/19.

Congratulations Thomas! I'm going one year from your date. I have already let my bosses know.
Randy and Buckeye glad to hear you are both on the mend. Hope everyone is safe.
Will be on and off for the next couple weeks. Vacation and working at the apartment to get this darn roof and siding done.

Small accomplishments Randy.

Mine was scooting from hospital bed to a chair so they could change my sheets. The people here are super nice.

And the best hospital food i ever had. You order your meal from a menu when you want it, and they deliver. Not your ordinary pick from 2 items and everyone eats at same time. They have soups, salads, 12 entrys, sides, sandwiches, grill, pasta, stirfry, breads, desserts, drinks.

My legs feel weaker again today. Maybe i expected too much today.

Minister and wife visited today. Good friend. He's originally a west virginia country boy, has a farm.

My first couple of weeks were like that, I gradually got strong enough to take a step or two. I’m nowhere near walking normally, but I’m miles ahead of a couple weeks back. I’m sure you will see more improved days than not, the setback days are disappointing but I learned I Don t make the schedule and I’m not in charge, so I ask for help try to be patient.
Said a special prayer for you at church this morning. Godspeed.

Nice sunny day hope all enjoy their Sunday.
Daughter did a nice job on her house warming yesterday unfortunately my son's had to work and couldn't make it but she had a nice crowd.
Going to spend some time with my mother in law today so my wife can get away and have some time to relax. Dementia is a terrible disease. Hard on my wife as full time caretaker.

My mom has dementia, she’s in a nursing home. She knows us but can’t remember things and conversations. It’s a strange and terrible affliction.

93, feels like 101, this has been one hot summer with no end in sight.

Looking at a Cub Cadet with loader and backhoe, late 90’s model, but virtually every normal wear part has been replaced in the last year, with paper to prove it. It’s a 22 hp gas model and 2wd, but I believe for the money asked it would suit me fine. Trying to setup a tryout Wednesday.

Feel like I’m improving most days now and headed up and out of this hole I’m in.

You guys have some sweet equipment! Makes me drool sometimes. LOL

Have a good one folks.

"... Maybe i expected too much today."- BEF. Decent hospital food and food choices was a major + surprise for me even with the "forced diet"

Nicely posted.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for both of you and hope you both will return to full health as your bodies and treatments allow.

Overly high expectations for regaining health and functions and insufficient patience with my body's rate of healing did not help me in hindsight. I became my own worst enemy. Fortunately I was finally able to work through my "internal BS thinking" and start healing. I am still working on "patience" with self.

A very nice, non political article about one of Ross Perot's many, many gracious acts. I must say, it brought a tear to my eyes.

Rick Perry: Now that Ross Perot is gone, I can tell this story | Commentary | Dallas News

Yes, as you said, Ross Perot did many, many gracious acts; some big, some small. When I started on the police department in Dallas, we had pretty good classroom and firing range facilities and instruction, but practically none of the physical training that everyone does now. The head of the police academy said he'd tried to budget for gym equipment, but it always got cut out of the budget. Some years later, after I became a captain (division commander) Ross Perot paid to have a full set of physical training equipment installed in each and every station as well as the academy. Things like that didn't make the news, but he spent several thousands of dollars on that equipment, and it was certainly appreciated.

The FM-78 only requires 30 HP so ..... you would be ok def. Which Titan flail do you have?

My M-F is a 231S, 2003 model with no remotes, no FEL. To equip it with remotes would be costly.

My Titan is the 68 EFGC...no hydraulic side shift. My mowing routine does not need it. My mowing is long straight pulls with turns at the end of the field. The Titan does a nice job on rocks, sticks and Buick hubcaps however, there have been repeated failures that persist.

The Chinese are reluctant to make changes to a design they initially copied. They likely have few if any materials engineers, mechanical engineers or others to take on what would be minor modifications to the design and manufacturing that would reduce failures and lower costs. Its not in their culture. just make 'em quick, lots of 'em. My Titan was replaced under warranty for a minor issue with Zerk fittings that were facing the ground. The replacement had the same issue which I corrected with about an hour and some tools.

Lived in the Houston area for years...Spring and Katy. Still like Texas...might move back. Let us know when you have a few miles on the Woodmaxx.

The Buick hubcaps had me laughing, my property at one time had 57 cars on it, after 7.5 years here and probably 10 or more since the cars left, every time it rains real hard, I find some trim parts or a tail light lense poking up through the grass in the back area.

Good evening all. 74F this morning, clear sky, light north wind. Slow increase on the wind, clouded up with stray showers in area, and high temp of 89F. Chapel to start in the morning, make wife breakfast(Creme of Wheat) then help stepdaughter's boyfriend move. Got home about 4:30 and was tired, but too late for nap.
Don we are looking to replace the gas powered golf cart with electric, and some speed increase, the gasser top speed 12.5-13 mph according to GPS. 72 volt list is about 2K more than 48V was curious as to how much range and performance were affected. ie is the cart worth that much more. So far the Yamaha and EZ-go only claim about 20 mph you will likely need to go UTV for 30 mph 4 people and dump capabilty.
RNG good luck with your projects, yes the bike will be more fun
Enjoyed the Ross Perot story as well. You just don't see that every day :2cents:
Randy and Buckeye, thanks for updates, prayers for continued progress.
DABSGT dad had alzheimer's and was in a Washington U. (STL) study. I am now in the KnightADRC study as a lab rat for 15 year now.
prayers for all.

Good morning, dry, sunny and expected to be a comfortable 23C/73F. Not bad conditions to have another day going at the Canada thistle. Yesterday was the first time I have ever used a dye marker in with the knapsack water. It made it so much easier to see what had been sprayed and what had been missed.

57 cars ! Sounds as if in the right weather conditions, wild trim parts germinate and multiply almost as fast as wild rocks :)

Smart dog and even smarter handler. "K9 Sign" next after ASL ?

Very painful night, as most have been. Mostly due to the poor bed. This thing is so uncomfortable. Finally about 2 or 3 am the nurse brought heat pads, they did more good than pain pills. Just got 2 more heat pads.

Will try for some sleep now.

Good morning all.
Toppop the image of an old car turn signal lens sticking up out of the lawn stayed with me, guess that car from the bit of plastic...

another super hot day today, will likely hit 100, just can't work in that any more.
75 going to 97 with a heat advisory in effect.

making run downtown for laser treatment on foot, after dropping off last of cabbages picked yesterday. Got about fifty tiny little heads,
peeled off all the bad outer leaves and the inside smells wonderful. Water just runs out of the cabbage so guess they aren't dried out yet.
But in this heat, won't take long. I'm pulling the rest out and starting the big cleanup of rows where nothing more is going in.
