Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 4:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 76F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Good news on the computer, Ron. Did you get a solid state drive for it? They make a HUGE difference in speed.
Tried WiFi calling, but the latency problems with the satellite internet made it very difficult to communicate. I would end up talking like an old time radio operator, ending my sentences with "over" to signal the other party when it was safe to speak. And then when there was a delay in my reply, they would start talking again just about the same time I did and neither of us could understand what was coming out of the ear piece.
Drew, have you tried balsamic vinegar? The flavor is pretty strong, and if the acid bothers you, it could probably be diluted quite a bit with water and still deliver a good flavor. Your father's recipe sounds pretty good; I did something very similar a few years back for a while, only with balsamic instead of apple cider vinegar.:licking:
Looks like you're gettin' the hang of drivin' that tractor, too, Drew. Those rows look straight as an arrow!
Good news on the knee, Jay, but don't let yourself get carried away and try to do too much too soon. I'm sure your PT person has already lectured you, but if you're anything like me, you'll be rarin' to catch up to all the stuff you haven't been able to do and the temptation to over do will be strong...
Hope you got some good news, too, Ted. You're too long overdue for some.
Jeeze, Randy, weren't we just talking about oil change joints screwing up? Hope no serious damage was done to your truck.
I've also seen those huge CoQ-10 displays at Costco, Wng, but when I looked into it, I couldn't find any clinical trial results that showed the supplements made a difference. And now another literature survey shows that fish oil doesn't make any difference, either, so I don't plan to buy anymore when what I have runs out. Consumer Reports just did an article on CBD, another survey of articles it seems, along with polling results of subscribers, and results are mixed. Seems it works for some folks, but not for others. They did point out that not all CBD is the same, and to make sure that whatever you end up with comes with an analysis to show it's free of heavy metal contamination and that the active ingredients are at known levels. The article also mentioned the interplay between THC and CBD, and that sometimes they are mixed even though the medicinal properties of the CBD seem more promising than those of THC, which brings with it the legal issues between state and federal laws.
Oh, and I'm also still waiting in the Shingrex shots. Sounds like a whole lot of people are, too!
Looks like the solar power outfit I met with Thursday is a one-size-fits-all kind of deal, and they don't have my size in stock. I left the salesperson with a raft of unanswered questions, and he was supposed to reply yesterday. He did, but left most of them unanswered because what they sell doesn't do what's needed.
I got out my last issue of Home Power magazine (they ceased publication last December) and found an outfit that sells parts and gives away design guidance. Filled out their online form yesterday, so we'll see what that brings. The more I think about it, the more I want to be involved in the design and the installation process. I want to end up with a deep understanding of each of the components and how they work together. I'm going to the the one to maintain the thing when it's done, and the best way to do that is to participate right from the beginning.
Also scampered around updating some registration paperwork on a couple of vehicles, and downloading new proof of insurance paperwork, too. And fixed a new license plate to the recently acquired BMW, so it'll be roadworthy once the heads come back.
Finally got going on the van, but instead of working on the vibration problem, thought I'd make a couple quick welds to plug some unexplained holes in the floor. That way they'd be ready for bed liner when I coat the spare tire carrier. Come to find out that whoever installed the accelerator pedal used a sheet metal screw and two machine screws, and the sheet metal screw was sticking down and rubbing on two electrical and two vacuum control lines. And one of the machine screw holes was over 1/4" in diameter, about twice the size of the screw that went through it. So all those holes got welded up, ground smooth, and redrilled to the proper size. The sad part is I'd already welded a patch at that location, and had the pedal installed properly. No idea of why it was moved, or why it was done so poorly. Anyway, that was it for work on the van yesterday, but this morning I found a pretty good article on aligning the transaxle/front differential that showed how to make an inexpensive laser alignment tool. So that's on the agenda for today, and I feel more confident of a good result with that additional knowledge.
Sheesh, Saturday already. Where did the week go?
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
