You are special.
How many milligrams of sodium do you have to consume a day to keep your levels normal? How do you monitor your levels on a daily or weekly basis?

Actually, quite a few people have it and don’t know it, especially if it is borderline, according to my DO.
I just make sure I have salt on the appropriate foods, and if I sweat a lot or drink a lot I substitute Gatorade G2 for some of the water.
I just get it checked with my normal 3 month blood work.
I can eat 3000 mg though and not get high sodium levels. I also have to be careful how much potassium I intake, as one tends to route the other.
Low sodium is an acute condition that can lead to heart attack or seizure, high sodium to a point is more a chronic condition that harms over time.

Don, did I detect a note of sarcasm? LOL

Happy Birthday Mrs sodamo!!!

Had some snow showers and wind on the trip today. When i left home our local river was flooding.

Tomorrow is dads bday and party, but he already got his gift, a new recliner.

I fried some kielbasa he had for supper. It was way too salty for me. I dont like to add salt to anything.

Snowing again.

Didnt fill out a bracket this yr, still could, haven't seen any results yet.

Kinda sulking. Furnace went on the blink. We needed new one so I though what a good chance to put in an oil and wood combo so I told the wife. I had to go to work so the wife called the furnace guys.... a deal was made for just another oil furnace so now we are still at the mercy of the oil companies.

What are your options for a stand alone wood stove?

We just got home from getting our beef for the year.. we buy from wife's nephew, grass/hay then finished on dry peas.. much smaller this year (last year half steer cut and wrapped was just over 400lbs, this year, whole steer was 450lbs).. price for kill and butcher was up too. It has always been really good meat so can't complain too much.

On the way home, we stopped and had pizza at a pizza place we both enjoyed as teenagers.. really really good pizza, thin crispy crust, generous toppings.

Prayers for all, stay safe.

Good evening all.45F for the start, mostly clear sky, light wind. High thin clouds, wind slowly increased to moderate and high temp was 74F. Cleared leaves of the roof and gutter screens, picked up leaves off of front porch, then went for a group ride this afternoon. played with getting phone notifications displayed on GPS unit , not working yet.
Buckeye, please wish your dad happy 95 birthday.
Jay, have lived with POA/HOA for 35 years, and still standing. It does help to pay attention to who is running, vote early and often :D
Don, because of my heavy sweating, and salt content of said sweat, I don't eat any of the low salt food. Learned the hard way that swimming competitively will dehydrate and desalt you. Since Drew spends a lot of time outside, and uses a hot tub , he has amble opportunity to sweat. It is something to think about.
Happy birthday Sophie!! (David please pass on)
Buppies hope you can nurse your injury along till slow season.
Prayers for all.

Well, Ted. Can’t say any were a surprise. Was looking for the diesel invoice, the Tundra renewal is annual, and in spite of Mayors comments any lesser number would have been a shock.

Wife is most appreciative of all your good thoughts, thanks.
I think she had a pretty good day 🤙

6 above and going to a high of 34 °F. Wind NNW 17 gusting to 23 mph. Sunny.

I have two town runs today, one at 7 A.M. and one at 10. After that it will be scrape the snow and slush off the driveway and depending on how soft it is, maybe take some more snow off the back so I can get to the downed tree.
I am hoping to get enough snow away that I can get the Jeep out of where I stored it so I can get the BH on again.
That is the game plan, we will see how it pans out.

Have a good day all

31 right now...high in the upper 30's. We didn't get near what was predicted, as far as snow accumulation...maybe 3" of wet stuff.
We do have a leak in the roof that's dripping through one window casing. I'm pretty sure I know why...just don't think I can do much about fixing it until all the snow is off the roof.
Chores...plow the drive and walks, install a new shower head and see if I can see where the leak originates

Happy Birthday Sophie!
31 here going to the low 40’s. Got a dusting-1/2 inch of snow on the roads and walk, should all melt by itself.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 20° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 47° with lots of sun. No plans for today. Take it as it comes.

Buckeye, Happy Birthday to your Dad. 95.

Prayers and wishes for those healing.

Good Morning All.

Happy Birthday Sophie, happy birthday Buckeye's Dad.

and a good morning to all the rest of you.
37 going to mid sixties, nice sunny day.

Put up most of my electric fence yesterday, wired it into solar charger and properly zapped myself testing the line. All good. Protecting the beets, carrots and melons. First two stringings are for deer, last one will be down low for the rabbits.

Collards are growing well, actually some pickable leaves. Plan on picking some on Monday to take into food pantry on Tuesday, as a reminder that they need to get volunteers to pick it weekly. Not me. Too much bending over.

cooked the last of a batch of somewhat healthy sausage this morning (no nitrates, nitrites and msg) but 500mg of salt for two eeny weeny pieces tells me that's the last time for that. Have been reading up on low salt diets, headed to supermarket this morning, stocking up on salads, fruit, vegetables, all kind of common sense eating. Started making my own salad dressing with olive oil and apple cider vinegar, with some Dijon mustard in it. Lots of salt in prepared salad dressings, sure am glad I stocked up on that...
I actually grew up eating salads my Father always made the dressing for, in a big wooden serving spoon. Mustard in bottom, olive oil on top and pour apple cider vinegar over it while splashing it around on top of salad. And here I am sixty years later going back to the same recipe. Oh, some fresh squeezed garlic in that spoon also.

Probably will do a little light weeding in the garden around the cabbages, they still aren't big enough to put straw down around. Everything seems to be growing nicely, nothing under 35 in the forecast. April 11 is last freeze day here, but it's been a warm winter relatively so far.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

38 and clear going to 58. Nice moon and stars earlier this morning.

Happy World Meteorology Day to Buppies and Jay and others who are students of the atmosphere.

Glad Sophie had a great Birthday, and hope Mr. BEF, Sr. has one today.

Saw the first swallow of the year yesterday. Hummingbirds aren't due for 3 more weeks. Red tail hawks are nesting in our woods in the same nest they have used for several years. Chipmunks playing on the front porch. Yep, life is good.

Lynn, did you get a trail cam for your cougar, yet?

Went to but diesel fuel, chain saw gas and fill up the truck yesterday after a dump run and gym. Wow, gas prices have shot up. I had to make 3 diff purchases, thus swipe my credit card 3 times, since I bought one gallon of premium for the chainsaw, and then filled the truck with regular...the fraud detection system let me use the card twice at the same pump, but not the third time...had to switch to a different card.

Plan today is to split and stack the firewood I cut Wednesday.

I thought there were no rabbits here. While cleaning up this weeks videos. One showed up at 1 am Thursday.

The bright light is a solar motion light I have over cell doors. Hope coyote does not get it.

My breakfast routine with tbn has been delayed this morning as I added to my daily routine with a 2 hour round trip to drop my wife off on a craft course. She is recovering well but can't drive yet, though I'm sure having a day out with friends will cheer her up. For once I will also get to do little grocery shopping without close adult supervision - freestyle shopping trolley packing, here I come :)

David, I'm a little late with birthday wishes for Sophie, but do tell her, if she enjoyed yesterday so much, do it again soon - that's surely one of the perks of being officially retired !

Good morning! 60˚F heading to the mid 70s. Our 90% chance of rain has diminished to 10% so the plant sale is on.

I did not get to help with the set-up yesterday because they had me doing TRACTOR CHORES. :D
Some of them were completely unnecessary - like moving the 50' much pile back 2' and moving a 1 ton planter 4 feet but I just smiled and said I can do that!
I had to move a bunch of bags of mulch which I could have made one load with my pickup but made 5 trips with the tractor and no use telling them about pallet forks that would just cut into my seat time.
IMG_2754.JPG
So I got about 4 hours of seat time in yesterday.

Today my job will be to help people load their plants and traffic control and at the end pick up my signs.

Drew, I picked my first collard leaves yesterday and seamed them and had them for lunch.

Since the big dog died 1.5 years ago, the rabbits have been slowly coming back. Saw some jackrabbit tracks the other day crossing my driveway. Lots of baby cottontail tracks, too. The more rabbits the merrier. Less cat food to buy.

26F now mid 30's for high gusty winds all day.
About 5" of snow from yesterday storm. :(

Both deer feeders were busy last evening trying to keep 18 deer happy.
Plans for today...dump run, fuel for pickup, later afternoon gently remove snow from driveway other than that :confused3:
E muffin feed little critter and get at it.

Enjoy the day all.
